  2. delete this: [Adstartup] C:\WINDOWS\System32\automove.exe Then run msconfig and untick anything in the startup tab which is odd.

  5. Hey all. I have 2 accounts on Windows XP Pro SP1. Mine is Administrator and the other is users (basic account). I have tried to use gpedit.msc to put some restrictions on the basic account however this has a global effect, the restrictions happen to the admin accout as well. In the forum i have read you need an active directory on a OS server. I have a huge list of registery restrictions which can lock down a account on xp. the problem is have to make the basic account admin first so i can add the tweaks manually. What i want doing is being able to add the registry restrictions from my admin accunt into the basic account...would i have to laod ntuser.dat for the basic account? how would i go about?

Hi i would like enlarge my desktop icons. i have tried this: right click on desktop > properties > appearance > effects then ticking 'use large icons'. - when i do that it makes the icons in the start menu large as well and i dont want this to happen. is there a way just to make the desktop icons larger? thanks ppl!

  10. Hey there. i installed Virtual PC yesterday; the 45 day trial. I have a 60 gb hdd which is partioned into 3 drives: c: -9.31 gb ntfs d: -9.31 gb ntfs e: -38.60 gb fat32 When i installed 2003 server via virtual pc it asked if it could use 16 gb of 'unallocated' space...so i allowed that. what i was wondering is where did that space come from??

  17. hey, i am doing a clean install of xp tommorow and wanted to know if ppl have links for registery hacks for xp, to optimize it and make it fast etc. thanks, i short of time, got my final exam in the morning so i busy studying now
  18. do you put the cd in when it tells you to? if you do and you still get the message try installing outlook again.
  19. i have used VisualRoute in the past and when i was told to get it ppl said that was the best to get. VisualRouter aint that bad, you can see it visually!
  20. yes i was referring to cgi scripts, because i am planning on using mt at my blog software...once i get free host and mt uses cgi. thanks for that!
  21. its pretty obvious the super mods moderate the forum, move posts which are in wrong area and close inappropiate topics. The admins are here well...to run the forum basically. Super mod tend to have limited permissions, this can involve no access to admin cp. hope that help...!
  22. hey all. Could somone let me know how much bandwidth cgi files, which are placed in the cgi bin, use? Would it be a lot since its in the bin or only a little? also how does a sgi script work? i could google my second question however i would like the help from since its usually accurate and to the point. Thanks folk!
  23. i guess this could be a bug in SP2...am i right in saying it could have corrupted that file?
