you see i want to use windows 2003 just like you use xp, should i delete the active directory and uninstall all the extras for the server, just want it as a workstation

no logging on the server machine, i have no client machines set up. yes and astive directory is installed and in place

hi, i have created a new user in windows 2k3 server however i get an error saying the user can not logon interactively. i have checked the security policies and there is non enabled for interavtive logons. what need to be done?

Hey, i searched the pinned topic for a link to get the patcher program which patches ux theme. its the one similar to the tcpip one located here http://www.lvllord.de/. i try to patch the uxtheme.dll and it says program in use, i have used the <<spam>> patch but that has no effect. Just for the record im running windows xp sp2

i just reinstalled and all is well now , i got the drives in order. thanks guys for the help, much appreciated

well windows is currently f: and the other music folders partition is c:. however i have put in the windows cd and run the cd when the computer is turned on. when i go to new installation it recognizes that windows is installe at c: and the other 9.31 is d: and the big partition is e:. if i was to reinstall i guess that they would revert to what it says when i run the install cd.

so should i delete the 2 9.31 gb partitions ?

well partition c: is 9.31 gb and is ntfs. i can format it no problems and then isntall windows to that. however i do not want to delete or lose the 38.6 gb fat 32 partition which has backups etc. so i have 2 9.31gb partitions and one 38.6 is it possible to get the 9.31 gb hdds to be c: and d: and then the big one to be e: with out deleting partitions

well like you said i tend to reinstall quite reguraly so thats why music and others are held on other partitions. If i was to reinstall and select the c partition that would mean eveything on that partition would be complety wiped out. and the backup partion would still say as the second partion. i would like it like this: c: windows d: folders music e: backup any ideas how that can be done?

Hey everyone. i just installed windows xp and it has installed to drive f: so now my setup is like this c: is my files and music d: is where the backups are e: is the cd drive f: is windows xp installed how do i go about reverting windows xp to be installed in the place of c: and then all others move 1 letter ahead. This is real odd and has happened the first time ever and i have installed windows over a dozen time

hey, my cd combo drive has been working glitch free for the past 3 years. now when i put a cd-rw in it recognises it as a cd-rw and hence writes at cd-rw speeds. i know for a fact they are cdrs. i have been using nero right from the start and i have no idea what the problem is. im using windows xp sp1

takuma, the school have obviously used policies in the active directory, the only way to by-pass these restrictions is to log on as an admin group member. lol there is no way you can get what you are wanting to work, with so much security policies in place.

i have bought a artec cooling fan and heatsink. Followed the instructions and put it into place. all working! thanks for your feedback

there is no fan fins broken and no wires are in the way for the fan to rotate propely. i might just get a new fan

Hey everyone. I hardly ever come across software problems never to mind hardware probs. However now i think i have a hardware problem. i have been using an amd fan on top of the heatsink of an amd athlon xp 2000+ cpu. The fan is now starting to make noise, dad tells me it could be the bearings in the fan...could this be so? i think i may need a new fan and i need telling what the problem might be and what size fan i need, if it needs replacing

it wont switch if the user has a password in there account or the other user is not logged on.

it extracts the file for temporary use (someone tell me if i am wrong there). the files will be removed once SP2 is full installed. My files where extracted to e:\ whereas i was installing on c:.

you will be able to get a book disk for windows 98se from here. you will then be asked to insert a blank floppy and thats abut it- the files will copied over to the floppy and you use the floppy

I have moved my taskbar from the classic position ( horizontaly at the bottom) to the top of the screen When i reset the computer or log off, the next time i log back on the taskbar returns to the old postition. Is there a registery tweak which will but the taskbar in the place the user wants it and the computer remembers. I have searched the forum but no luck So anyhelp would be great

lol you pretty lucky to have to got a working version. Most software from pakistan markets ( i been to them) usually have viruses or is a different software from what it says on the cardboard cover
