alright guys. I got 6 invites for gmail. ANy 6 members can get these invites by simply PM'ing me there name and email addy. The email addy is where i will post the invite. Only the first 6 to pm will get them. So sorry if you dont get one. I didnt want to create a new thread about gmail so i using this one prathapml, is that ok? EDIT: i popping away from the PC for an hour or so, so people you can still pm me but i will send the invites as soon as i get back on. Still the 6 invites remain

have you got boot CD settings enable, this way the cd will boot when you turn the pc on and will ask if you press any key to continue to install windows xp.

does style xp start when you windows start. i think it needs to run for the style you have selected to take over

thats odd mate. I have two users who use this machine. Me (Admin rights) and my brother ( users group/rights). He can use fast user switching and gets no error.

Hey all. Is there a tweak which will remove icons in the 'past items' section of the hide inactive icons menu. You will see what i mean if you right click the taskbar and click properties. then click customize next to the hide inactive icons tab. Thanks in advance people

yeah no probs, xp pro and xp corp are identical apart from corp does NOT require activation whereas the other does.

lol i installed this windows a month or two back as a test but ended up keeping it installed as it is. Since i wanted to keep this install i wanted to edit the details without reinstalling.

Hey, Welcome to MSFN. is this the first time you have had these problems. if so, check you computer for spyware. Then post back here. Also let us know if you are getting any windows errors.

i think what he means is if you are logged on as the built in admin not a user you created who has admin priveleges

Hey. I got a little problem regarding the computer name and the 'company' its registered to. When you install windows ( xp in my case), its asks for you name and the company. For this i typed 'XP USER', for both. What i want to do now is change the 'XP USER' to my name and 'Workstation 1' as the company. I would prefer a registery tweak however third party apps i am happy to install to change it. Thanks in advance people! B)

Of course... but I don't know how to replace the original uxtheme.dll with the patched one. I'm using SP2. search in the forums and you will find out how to replace it using a program called replacer. Yeah and welcome to the forum

Hey, i have downloaded the uxtheme.dll hack for xp sp2 however when i try to copy and replace the old one it says the file is being used. i have tried in safe mode and get the same prompt...whats going wrong? Thanks

im a little confused, what people are downloading, is this the one which will be released on windows update or is this the last beta?

i used partition magic to partition my 60GB hdd. I have my partitioned in this order: c:9.31 gb - windows install d:9.31 gb - work folders and music e:38.60 gb - backup images of office, xp, and backup of music and folders. you could do it like mine since it is the same size- 60 gb
