Youtube is totally different than Media Player. Youtube is not really a movie player but a Flash player. Its not a good comparison tool at all. Also using RealPlayer vs WMP isn't a good start either. Try using another bonafide video player such as Winamp, Divx Player, etc. Also what codecs do you have? You may have either an outdated one, or have installed something in the wrong order.

You can try disabling the Link Layer Topology Mapper and Scanner options for the NIC to see if that improves anything. If you decide to do this, I recommend you do it with Group Policy, as unchecking the boxes on the NIC do not always disable that feature.

Recreating shouldn't take very long at all. You can mount your old WIM and the new WIM into different folders at the same time. Then just copy over the files. I have never created a Winpe.wim without prepping it, as I learned how to make them with IcemanND's guide.

I think that the entire subsystem for playing sounds is missing, but not sure. I didn't ever research how Windows plays sounds in the past, so I don't even have a starting point. However, we do know that since DirectX is missing, so is DirectSound. There are implementations of getting sound (not so much video like 3D Acceleration) to work in Win PE 1.5.

I used to play Starcraft on bnet. I was not very good until I joined a clan. Back then, I think it was called [RF] Red Falcon or something. The clan leader was a guy in the top 10 ladder for Korea. He then trained me how to play with Protoss. I then started doing better and also stopped losing. I think I quit after 35 straight wins. This was in 2000 tho. I'm probably pretty bad at it now. In other news, I did my research and did some driving today to a gamestop that had a used copy of We Love Katamari. It was the closest Gamestop to have it (it was 12 miles away) and the second closest place was in Olean, which is a good 1.5-2 hour drive. So I bit the bullet and paid $25 for it, which is WAY above what I'd normally pay for a used game. I am about to try it out. I beat Katamari Damacy and since the sequel is supposed to be much longer, I'll probably be able to play it for more than a week!

They tried to get me to sign up at work but I declined. I'm still trying to figure out how to get mp3s to be ringtones, so I'm pretty new to cell phones.

We may have hit a wall and overloaded the network that the Imagex Server is running on. Here is the specs from my servers thread: Networking wise this is the current usage. Now I want to point out we have temporarily altered the network layout and this isn't normal. Also, we are not using managed switches, even though it is recommended (verbiage made it sound like required) by our TAM. Alas I don't get to make purchasing decisions. Server -> 24 Port gigabit switch (Netgear) -> Netgear 24 port gigabit switch -> Switch3 & Switch4 No activity currently on Switch3 Switch 4 has 2 active connections. Connection1 is imaging with Imagex. Connection2 -> Switch5 -> Switch6 Total connected clients: 25 (24 + 0 + 1) Client limit on server: 250 Total bandwidth being used (seen via Networking Tab in Task Manager) average: 10% The problem is that half or 2/3 of the clients are actively imaging, using an 8GB image (using fast compression) and the other 1/3 are getting the PE transfered. None of the clients are locked up, but the data transfer has appeared to be nearly zero. If by doing math of available bandwidth limitations (1000MB) *.10 = 100Mb/s. This gives a maximum 4Mbps (0.5MBps) per client, not counting SMB and other data. If anyone has any ideas as to why this is happening, other than the "you should be using managed switches" angle, let me know. I totally agree we should upgrade our network in that respect. At least I can say we use the same model switches through-out. I will pull off a trace and open an SR with Microsoft.

You need to send the data into the Distiller. It can create the PDF for you. I don't know how to do it, but a program I worked on in a past job made PDFs this way. You should be able to find some documentation for using the Distiller with your preferred language.

Ah I see you have an Antec Performance chassis, which is what I have. Have you tried changing the fan speeds? They have three settings I believe. Also did you install all the fans it comes it? I haven't had any heat issues at all in mine, but then again I am using an Intel board, which isn't know for heat issues.

Greetings, Some ideas, as I am becoming a veteran at working on recovery partitions. You should hide your recovery partition when you are not using it so that it does not get assigned a drive letter. Then the first partition that is detected (the system volume) will get the C drive letter. Imagine these possibilities: Normal Use part 1 = no drive letter part 2 = C part 3 = D When in recovery mode part 1 = C part 2 = D part 3 = E ramdisk = X Its important to remember that the recovery partition becomes the C during the recovery. Yes in 2002 to 2003 I used my Windows 98 PC as a server. It ran Shoutcast and Quake 3 Dedicated. The motherboard died in 2005. I did end up using it again back in February when my regular PC died. I only have 1 monitor and don't like KVMs so I don't actively use it. One day I want to get a new Power Supply so I can get it back up and running again.

Tested on x64 7124: - Norton Antivirus 2009 installs. Don't know if it works. - MSI's SCM (System Control Manager) installs but does not open. One of the functions the SCM provides is the ability to use a webcam built into the notebook.

Those temperatures don't look that bad. Do you have a lot of room in the case? You may have an airflow problem with all that stuff crammed in there.

Hmmm... that could be. I disable Windows Updates.

Are you serious here? XP every few days? You must be doing something wrong there. Even Windows 98 could be on for a long time. My record for 98 is 3 months. I can't prove the 98, but I can prove the XP.
