  1. You are getting this during an install yes? However, what you can do is boot your VHD another way, like using PE or NTFSDOS, then go an check the files in Windows\Panther. You can see setupact and setuperr there which may have errors listed inside that may explain why your install failed.
  2. You know, I didn't even think of that. I installed LeechFTP, which we can probably consider to be a non-well written app. It did not turn of the DWM like Fireworks did. LeechFTP, fyi, was haulted in development sometime during its localisation from German to English. Its a fully functioning app and I've been using it for years, but some dialog boxes/messages are in German.
  3. Yeah Vista, lol. I've deployed it probably 1000 times but have only actually used it in Audit Mode. I forgot for a moment that some of these things may not have been new since I hadn't used Vista much. I don't think the Aero behaviour is big enough to write up an email about it. So far I haven't had any issues with Windows 7, just curiosities about the behaviour. Thanks for the response!
  4. Well I've just got Windows 7 Pro installed here at work and I'm trying to get used to it. The explorer is kinda weird, but I like how the taskbar works. There are some functional differences and oddities maybe you guys know what can be done. First, a question about the taskbar. I pinned the CMD to it, with the idea I can easily launch an elevated prompt from there. But if I right click, I get a menu that has CMD and then Unpin this program. So then I have to right-click on the CMD in that menu to run as Administrator. Is it possible to add Run As Administrator into that menu so I don't have to click twice? Second, I use a dual display (extended) setup. If I lock the workstation (Windows + L) the lock message only shows up on the primary monitor, and the secondary monitor turns black. The second monitor does not go into power save either, as the light is still green. In other versions of Windows, if you have 2 screens and lock the workstation, the second monitor would stay active and you would see the wallpaper or whatever on there. Is there a setting that lets me do this? My computer has a Radeon X1800 and has the CCC installed. And lastly, when I open some programs (like Fireworks MX 2004 demo) the Aero turns off. I am guessing that program does not support Aero, but is there a way to not use Aero on that app and keep it on everywhere else? That's it for now.
  5. I finally got my new workstation and it has Windows 7 installed. I remember during my pre-release training for 7, the speaker said that in 7, you can have the taskbar go the length of all the desktops. Meaning if you have 2 or more displays, the taskbar will extend. How do I enable this feature? There does not seem to be anything in the taskbar properties.
  6. Pop-ups are blocked by most browsers. You are better off using in-line advertisements.
  7. MobyGames, a user-based game listing site, shows that Tetravex was only available in 1991 from Microsoft for PC. To my knowledge, no MS games have ever become abandonware. However, it is available as a GNOME app. Infos: http://www.mobygames.com/game/win3x/tetravex http://live.gnome.org/Tetravex
  8. This one: Is a DDR2 800 SO-DIMM. The other one, if used, will underclock the 2GB stick. Your best bet is to find another 2GB DDR2 800MHz SO-DIMM, preferably by Samsung as well.

  10. This happens because the actual hardware support on the board may not be physically connected to ports on the notebook. Another example, is that some mobile Intel notebook chipsets/BIOS will show a support for RAID even tho there is only 1 SATA port. Its the same idea. To see if your ports are USB 2.0, instead of 1.1, plug in a USB 2.0 device (usually a UFD) and see if the "your device could perform faster" tooltip. If you get this, you have USB 1.1. If you don't get this, you have USB 2.0.
  11. The only way I have found it is if you search for something (anything) that gets no results, there is a link below on that screen that lets you search for contained text. I agree, I use that feature alot in XP and 2003, and hated how it wasn't as accessible in Vista and 7. It is really helpful when searching for drivers by HWID.

  13. I can tell by the screenshot that you are using Win PE 3.0. To resolve your issue, you will need to use the code fix in this thread: http://www.msfn.org/board/imagex-hta-win-p...64-t138048.html As noted in the first post any further development is community based only. v9.1 only removed the DLL requirement, and added the image index to the WIM display list. There was supposed to be a way to browse for a diskpart file but that never happened.
  14. You may need to play with the SETRES settings in the first part of the HTA to find a resolution that works best for you.

  16. This error you are getting is because, somewhere in your scripts or in your code, you are calling a 32bit application or even a DLL.
  17. I think you are misinterpreting what that is saying. Its basically a policy thing, whereas only OEMs are allowed to make images like that. If you aren't an OEM then they won't help you. It does not mean that it doesn't work.
  18. You are trying to flat out run the MSI files. You should use MSIEXEC.EXE to run the script. On any PC type msiexec /? in a CMD to see how you should set up your command line.
  19. This is more a hardware question, so I'll move this post after. Some motherboards have USB config settings in the BIOS. The wording varies so I couldn't tell you exactly what to look for. Some machines do run 1.1 speeds at boot but some other run 2.0 speeds. The only USB 2.0 capable system I know that uses 1.1 speeds at boot is the MSI Wind/U100 Netbook. I am sure there are other ones out there tho.
  20. I'm willing to bet its actually this one: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product...lang=&cc=us
