Its no big secret Atheros. I already posted it above. This only fixes the window.confirm by replacing it with MsgBox. After my research, it seems that window.confirm is a Javascript leftover and isn't documented for VBScript at all. Here is a now fixed, and working example: Sub Append Dim Answer Answer = MsgBox("Do you want to install XP Apps?",1,"XPapps") If Answer = 1 Then objshell.run("xp_pe_selector.exe"),0 Else Exit Sub End If End Sub So to be creative, replacing other parts, such as the peice that is called when you select a radio button for an image: A snippet from the beginning of showRadioInfo() myInput2 = MsgBox("Would you like to apply the selected image?",1,"showRadioInfo") If myInput2 = false Then MsgBox "Aborted" Exit Sub Else Call DiskPart() And later on If RebootAfterImageApply = 0 Then Answer2 = MsgBox("Image applied successfully!"& Chr(13) + Chr(13) & "Click OK to Shutdown?",1,"SUCCESS") If Answer2 = 1 Then objshell.run("wpeutil Shutdown"),0 Else Exit Sub End If On my HTA, i did not replace all instances of window.confirm. For example, we do not make use of mounting any wims and capturing/appending images are not the task of the regular software deployment people. There was a time, back when we used Ghost, we let anyone save images. What ended up happening is having tons of images with ambiguous names. If I handle all image management myself, I can confirm that everything follows a naming convention and is easy to find and sorted properly. Instead of relying on people who might have been too lazy to name the images properly.

Is it all games or just some games?

Nah. If you are happy using something that isn't the newest, then that's great. I only upgrade when I have to. Windows 7 might be the greatest thing since a grilled cheese sandwich, but if I don't really need it, then why bother?

I understand where you are coming from Ahmad, but there will end up being too many similarities. Even though that topic was created because you couldn't make the recovery CD, others have used it because their Function key didn't work, didn't appear or they couldn't run a recovery. When it all comes down to it, anything relating to a SoftThinks recovery partition should go into that thread, because all those abilities lead to the same thing. And that is fiddling with the MBR. So that thread is now about the MBR for those partitions, which emcompasses many of their features. However, that topic is only for SoftThinks based recovery partitions. There are other options out there, Phoenix being one example. As far as your question regarding capturing the entire volume (including the MBR) I have found only Ghost can do it, but you need a newer one. There is one issue with that, if this is a SoftThinks recovery partition, Ghost won't capture the license string and the recovery partition may not be activated. If that ends up being the case, if you boot into the recovery, it will tell you that you do not have permission to use the feature, or a similar message.

We are looking into it. So far it doesn't seem to be a big problem, for example, it doesn't break links to GOOgle pages.

Well if you want to go all Katamari out, a Wii might not be your best option. I'm wondering how it will translate control-wise. Anyways, 2 Katamari games on PS2, one on PS3 (which is a combination of the PS2 games + goodies) and one on 360, one on PSP. So far nothing new has come out for non-Sony platforms. As I noted, the one on PS3 has all the same levels (and music) as the first 2 PS2 games. All other platforms use the same levels as well. If you are going to buy a Wii just for Katamari... well you shouldn't drop that coin for just one game. And as fun as Katamari is, they are still only (maybe) a week's worth of playing to beat. Then unless you have people to play against, they get pretty boring. Anyways, Impress (GameWatch) doesn't have anything about Katamari on the Wii. Wikipedia makes a mention that it is planned for the Wii, and points to an article that makes no mention of it. MobyGames doesn't have anything about it either. There was a lot of hype concerning the 9/3/09 release of Katamari on PS3, many sites said it would be for Wii but it didn't happen. This looks like your real answer: http://wii.gamespy.com/wii/beautiful-katamari-rumored/ However, it would be VERY surprising for a Japanese game to come out and not show up on GameWatch first. That url is: http://game.watch.impress.co.jp/ Warning! Its in Japanese!

I'll bust out the camera when I get home. Here are some pictures. The first you can see from the left is a standard co-ax cable. This ends up getting connected into the tuner box. It is the grade used for Cable TV, not satellite. It also isn't a high quality one, but it was the only one I had. It connects into a standard Radio Shack RF adapter. I needed this so I can hook up the next thing, which is an old "bowtie" antenna. http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k63/Trip...os/DSC00007.jpg Next I needed to connect it to a magnet. I find the easiest and best place to get a good powerful magnet (for free too!) is from a broken speaker. Not all speakers have good magnets. For example, the monitor speakers from an Old Packard Bell won't work. If you want to know if the magnet is good, try picking it up with a screwdriver! This speaker was from a bookshelf speaker that drowned in my basement flood earlier this year. You can tell from the rust on it. I have an alligator clip there to make sure the bowtie doesn't fall off. Even tho it is a strong magnet, the bowtie is thin, so the area to be magnetised is small as well. http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k63/Trip...os/DSC00008.jpg It took me quite awhile to find the right amount of adapters and parts to use. And also bearing in mind that I didn't want the magnet near the television either. I had to change my original hookup because I did not have an extra co-ax cable. Originally, my tuner was connected to my VCR using the coax from the first pic. I wouldn't have needed it if I hadn't misplaced one of my adapters... Now I changed it so my tuner box is connected using Composite to my VCR. So this is my great TV set-up now: Magnet antenna -> Tuner via coax Tuner -> VCR using Composite PS2 -> VCR using Composite VCR -> TV using high-grade coax VCR -> speakers via RCA cable (Composite minus yellow cable) I'm in a situation where I can't afford to get cable, fiber or satellite TV. The summer time wouldn't be a big problem, but the winter time the heating cost makes it impossible. So I make do with what I have! ps: maybe this should be in the Hardware forum?

So the only main difference is that you added the en-us packages and copied mshta to syswow64. And now Window.confirm works? Ah I would go this route too if I didn't fix it in another way.

Also, if you are receiving errors, it would be helpfult to post what they are.

This is something I learned at least 10 years ago. I had a small black and white TV that used a coat hanger for an antenna. The reception was poor. I put a magnet on it and the reception was great. Why are commercial antennae only large peices of metal? Why don't they use magnets? A couple months ago, I decided to use a larger magnet from a busted subwoofer, at work to amplify the antenna at work. This was a simple console AM/FM receiver that had a simple antenna. It was withing a room in a large warehouse. The building acted as a dampening field, making some stations not come in at all. Now using extra wires and this magnet, we can get a station we would never get in, all day. Today, at home, I finally was fed up. I do not have cable or satellite, and frankly while I could afford it in the summer, the gas prices (for heating) in the winter would make it impossible. And if you aren't in the US, we do not have over-air analog broadcasts anymore. So I have a Digital TV tuner box hooked up to my TV. When you get one of these, it does not come with an antenna. I was using just the one I had for my TV before the switch-over, but I would get artifacts on all channels, making watching TV totally useless. I had wondered if I could duplicate my success in using magnets to lure in radio waves with HD Over the Air broadcasts. The answer is yes. Today would end that situation. I used a busted speaker, my original antenna (its the one that looks like a bowtie and connects with 2 screws), a Radio Shack antenna box (coax -> 2 screw antenna), a coax cable and a M2M Coax connector to make my new antenna. And it works great. What I have now, is a magnetic field as an antenna, just as at work. At work its a problem. I have already determined that we can move carts around the room to increase/decrease reception. At home that shouldn't be a problem! So why do they not put magnets into antennas?

I'd have to say that the biggest reason why Vista has gotten a bad rap was because OEMs had to drop XP. You couldn't ever get a computer with XP (Vista Downgrade Rights) from a store. And all stores would sell low-end PCs so they could have a lower price on them. Vista works better on computers that may well have the minimum requirements of Crysis. I applaud Microsoft for saying "enough is enough" and making Atom CPUs not supported for Vista. Also Microsoft changed the way Vista used memory, which without consumer re-education, led to many users thinking Vista was not working properly. I, myself, have not had a problem using Vista. Yes the UAC is annoying, but then again the UAC was not designed for people like me. I know many people who use Vista, and are (as they say) "computer illiterate" that have been saved by the UAC. If I had my way, I'd run Vista in Audit Mode forever! So, Windows 7 is indeed an improvement over Vista, in many ways. Let's hope nothing horrible happens (if it does, it's not my fault!) and people don't want to go back to Vista.

Yes, I see you added the true/false in there. My example does not have it, so in some cases (such as using it to shutdown the pc) it executes the following code no matter what. I'd hope that other people would have seen that! I have not made the code change to fix that issue yet. Maybe tomorrow! Anyways, since I did take this issue to Microsoft, and yet fixed it myself. Although Atheros led me on the track that the same code brought different results, and tabone confirmed that some code doesn't work anymore. I ended up changing my SR to a bug report, at least for window.confirm. Thanks everyone for your help! Ohh Atheros, my use of installing apps, XP or Vista, is an option that is called after applying an image. A lot less logic required for that. I haven't posted that code yet but maybe one of these days I will!

The real problem about the XML parsing that exists in the original code, is that it searches for the index, then does a "node+1" to find the IMAGENAME. This is where it fails to work with the new Imagex XML. It should specifically grab the node by name, since the name is the same in both versions. I have not (personally) been able to decode much of the code other than what I've already said. I appreciate your feedback on this dabone. I am glad that my efforts (with Geezery's help!) has allowed us to even have this conversation. It is really a great application. And like you, I'm also not interested in starting over and using something else. However, I have already accepted that I can make do with using the old PE to capture and the new PE to deploy XP, Vista and Windows 7. Either way, I won't kill the discussion, being able to select Windows 7 images like the older ones would be very helpful. PS: I've never had to do the bootsect part. I've done XP and Vista from the same PE and never did bootsect... I know where this was proved to be needed otherwise, but I haven't encountered such a situation.

OK I am starting to think we can make this easier. I don't think we have to worry about sysfolder. There is another sub that controls applying the images. See this snippet: If Radio.Checked = True Then myInput2 = window.confirm("Would you like to apply the selected image?") If myInput2 = false Then MsgBox "Aborted" Exit Sub So if I choose to apply an image, it needs to get a var back from window.confirm. Since we have already established that window.confirm isn't working, this value would be "false" thus generating the "aborted" message. So if there is a way to simply replace window.confirm, this may solve this problem. Update: Another user confirmed that window.confirm does not work in the x86 version either. I have safely replaced that code, here is a new example: Dim Answer, objShell, objFso Set objShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell") Set objFso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") Answer = MsgBox("Do you want to install XP Apps?",1,"XPapps") If Answer Then objshell.run("xp_pe_selector.exe"),0 Else End If So the new PE must have something that was changed from last version. Perhaps the Cscript program was changed? We may never know.

Yay! May today be a day where you don't have to work in the database.

I had that earlier today at work! Fortunately today only 2U servers. Those 1U fans are really loud with the cover removed. And in case anyone is wondering, when the servers are in my room, we disable the chassis intrusion alarms! Then it would be worse! Frank Zappa - Hot Plate Heaven at the Green Hotel

Sorry Atheros. Currently I am not going at it on my own (or with help from people here) yet as I have an SR open with Microsoft about it. But ok, so the sysfolder, is defined here: Set SysFolder = Objfso.GetSpecialFolder(1) But yes, looking at this code, you may be on the right track! Because obviously the code after this, which sets the dimensions of the HTA, does in fact work... So is this "GetSpecialFolder" a global variable? It isn't defined anywhere in the HTA. So I am understanding that when it looks at SysFolder in x64, the PE returns Syswow64, instead of System32. How can it be (easily) changed to return System32? Update: Nope this is a dead end, going after SysFolder. I got this code written up real quick, to find out what variable is being returned: Dim fso, tempfile, tfolder, tname, tfile Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") Set tfolder = fso.GetSpecialFolder(1) MsgBox(tfolder) Saved as test.vbs, and executed as cscript test.vbs. The messagebox that comes up says: X:\Windows\System32 So this object isn't referring to syswow64. There must still be something missing. I was hoping it would have been that simple!
