  1. Thanks son was not too clear in the guide. Also the CD.txt in the root is just a blank txt doc & resides in the root nothing else? Edit Can I just add this cleanup to the end of my normal runonce ex.cmd? DEL "%systemroot%\*.bmp" DEL "%systemroot%\Web\Wallpaper\*.jpg" DEL "%systemroot%\system32\dllcache\*.scr" DEL "%systemroot%\system32\*.scr" DEL "%AllUsersProfile%\Start Menu\Windows Update.lnk" DEL "%AllUsersProfile%\Start Menu\Set Program Access and Defaults.lnk" DEL "%AllUsersProfile%\Start Menu\Windows Catalog.lnk" shutdown.exe -r -f -t 60 -c "Windows XP will now restart in 1 minute..." net user aspnet /delete RD /S /Q %systemdrive%\drivers\ RD /S /Q %systemdrive%\install\ EXIT
  2. Moving to use Runonce ex directly from cd. I am still required to place the cmdlines.txt in C:\CD\$OEM$\ If I combine all cmd into one file eg prepare.cmd & runonce ex.cmd do I still place this in the CD\OEM directory or does it get placed in the CD\Software directory? Does anything need to be altered in my Winnt.sif except the [Guirunonce] section, I take this needs to be kept blank? :
  3. Well thanks ArmyDoc with your screen shot I found the files I was missing these were: mscdex.exe io.sys pqpb.rtc Autoexec.bat Ive got no idea why these did not copy to the rescue floppies as I did this several times & was able to locate most of the missing files in PM8 itself. I also found command.com also corrupt with some friggin around like you said used some other files from other places & was finally able this to boot in VPC. Like you I found the the win 95 boot option the winner. I will now be able to include this in my DVD.
  4. I thought that my self but I tried changing floppies. The other thing is PM8 works fine as a program & have successfully got it working in Barts PE as a plug in?
  5. Still no luck for me? I basically rebuilt the two rescue disks in PM8 which build fine but I have noticed two files don,t seem to copy to the floppies, Autoexec.bat & mscdex.exe. Then if I open Winimage & CtrlR to read disk it copies through to the 86% point & pops up in error. If I read disk 2 & then inject the disk 1 as a 2.88 image it seems to build in winimage but won't boot in virtual PC. As Alanoll pointed out I had a similar problem in 98se. I however carried this out on my second PC & errored at the same point any ideas?
  6. Yes keep us posted. I'm just about to remake my rescue disks & inject them back into Winimage. Winimage noted an error in my first floppy. Edit Please see my dir of pm8.IMA in winimage. Getting the same file error message as ArmyDoc
  7. Followed the multiboot guide for PM8 but cannot get it to boot. I simply injected both floppies to winimage & saved, placed pm8.IMA in the root of the disk & entered the command in diskemu?
  8. Aaron XP I just tried to re download Q837001 as your guide "You may also want to re-download Q837001, as it's been re-released." But it still shows the same file version no 5.4.1.0?
  9. NUHI, Just loaded & used your prog. I must say its very nice & a credit to you keep up the good work.
  10. Would that be the case on the final DVD also as far as ME were concerned?
  11. I have been using VPC for a few weeks now & have not needed to format or partition the virtual fixed drive yet using any other os. I looked in the initial setup & settings of vpc & not sure how to repartition the drive or change the file system?
  12. Not certain how to do this in virtual pc. I am using a fixed V/hardrive though not dynamic?
  13. Wasnt sure that could be done in Virtual pc?
  14. Having a problem with the ME setup using the same method. Setup seems to stall straight after booting in VPC? I have attached screenshots & Autoexec.Bat & Config.sys any thoughts?
  15. Alanoll, Probably a stupid question as posted much earlier I was having the same problem with ME do you think with the same modifications to the Autoexec.bat & config.sys files that you provided for 98 would with path changes work in ME?
  16. Alanoll, I think I'm on a winner the only problem that VPC shows on win98 setup page is low on disk space warning which should not be a problem. I will burn this to a cd & try on another machine. Thanks for your assistance. I will post the final results.
  17. Just tried setup.exe in Autoexec .bat pls check my bat I however have made some progress but still has an error.
  18. Find below screenshots with the MSCDEX.EXE included in the bootdisk.
  19. Just tried your latest suggestion in VPC not working properly. However I injected the missing MSCDEX.EXE file into the winimage boot file & looked promising in virtual PC. It however complained it could not install win 98se on that partition. May have something to do with what you were saying regarding the NTFS partitiioning I'm not sure? I might try burning my image to a cd & test on a live machine.
  20. Got me beat? But I'll think you"ll find I'm not the only one.
