Ryan VM I take my hat off to ya been trying to sort this for a week your method has done the trick what a great place & minds we have here.

Still having some dramas with this seems to install with the sfx ok on my early P4 machine but will only install on my later p4 main machine if I manually unpack & start the installer? The sfx basically extracts to temp folder but fails to install. I ran the self test in winrar & said the archive was ok with no errors my compressed archive is about the same as you guys around 12.3 meg just thought a bit strange as it installs on the other machine?

I failed to mention I have project 2000 & want to slipstream it with the sr1 update package for that version not project 2003 service pack 1. EDIT:Remade the slipstream script:msiexec /p C:\psr1\sr1.MSP /a C:\proj\INSTALL.MSI SHORTFILENAMES=TRUE /qb Worked a treat got it installing unattendly silent. Couldnt really see the problem though didnt think the script was any different any how going ok now? Doh I see the "a" was the prob oh well watch that next time?

Try: msiexec /p C:\Projup\PRJSP1-ENU.MSP /a C:\prs1\PRJPROE.MSI SHORTFILENAMES=TRUE /qb Looks like you reversed the sequence. PRJPROE.MSI is the only MSI file in my administrative share. Thanks Peachy let me check my source & will try it out appreciate your feedback

I retried this again I can get it to update with the service pack but it starts the install & errors saying it requires the windows xp sp2 disc to be inserted & seems to be missing quite a few dll's?

Done that man but your autoit.exe seems to install the net ok but the script keeps looping & keeps trying to extract & cleaning up until such time that you manually stop them? Installed my sfx directly from the batch & seems to install ok, only thing I noticed was does not show in the start/programs of installed progs in control panel add or remove shows ok but does not show program size is that normal earlier version showed this?

Just dl the latest final & its working fine.

No appeared to but as I said the installation ran fine directlty from the sfx on my test machine will recheck my files?

Thats correct when I tried your autoit script iI ran aDotnet.exe, my sfx rar is called setup.exe.

No but it did show a clean up box but autoit kept looping & showing multiple icons in the system tray.I manually closed it down after a couple of minutes?

@Rico.Johnny dont extract it...just use the original compressed file,then use /Q:A /R:N I still get the first box decline or accept?

ECHO Installing Net framework 1.1 updated... start /wait %systemdrive%\install\Applications\net\setup.exe /qb but would not install on my main machine basically flashed the first box & closed the cmd window. Tried the autoit.exe posted but seems to loop & does not install.

I tried both batchs above but still getting the first gui in wmp10?

Please search, Alanoll has a considerable post regarding this where we had the same problem.

I used the same in my batch to test wmp10 but I still get the first GUI in the setup won't silently install? start /wait %systemdrive%\install\Apps\WMP10\SETUP_wm.exe /Q:A /R:N /P:#e

Sorry fellas Im a little lost here done the extraction & now I have a netfxsp1.rar file @ 12.1meg or should this be an .exe? EDIT: Ballsed up settings in winrar much simpler than I thought thanks RyanVM for your post.

Thanks guys most interesting guide.I must say though having a little trouble in the rar sfx compression bit, cannot seem to find the solid archive tick box in winrar 3.3 I noticed the best compression setting in mode but not solid archive box? missing something not too familiar with winrar? Getting the rar also only down to 17 meg?

I tried slipstreaming project 2k the same as office but it did not seem to update the share? I used this to merge after making admin install point & extracting sr1 package, msiexec /a c:\Projup\INSTALL.msi /p c:\psr1\sr1.msp SHORTFILENAMES=1 Has anyone else done this? I haven't heard of Peachys sugg before?

So just a matter of searching for the OPK dl & run it straight after the slipstream? Thanks in advance fella.

Can anyone throw some light on this I would like to slipstream the SR1 into my project 2k to include unattended. Just wandering can I use the same method as xp office slipstream? I have searched these forums, Google & Killer info etc but cannot find much to do with this?

Yeah sorry it saved to C:Publisher I was looking in the orig dir where I slipstreamed it. Working fine now.Anyway would this be fine to install unattended: ECHO. ECHO Installing Microsoft Publisher XP SP2 start /wait %systemdrive%\install\Applications\pubxp\setup.exe /q

Just slipstreamed sp3 into publisher but just wandering how to incorporate the serial no like office? Now I have setup.exe in the Publisher dir.

I only have the msi installer package?
