in imagex it mentions you must ref image path & image file! eg image path: Path of the volume image to be captured image file: Path of the existing wim file

Only part really having a problem with is: Have looked @ the MS page here for imagex: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc766147%28v=ws.10%29.aspx Which is identical to yours above. Have tried inserting wimscript.ini directly in the work dir & imagex dir though not happening. apologize for all the ??'s!

Thanks, paths are troubling me!! If I put my copied wim into dir "w81" & mount the win then should I put the "Wimscript.ini" in same dir or in the main dism dir in windows? Either way not happening? My cmd cannot be right

Ok make a copy of the install.wim I intend to use, mount the same wim, run the cmd with the path to the copied wim?

Am luvving this concept but must say having trouble getting my head around the dism script in the "name" area especially. Have looked both here & on google directly on the MS site examples etc & can't quite get my head around it!! Can someone dumb it down for me?

Depends whether you disabled? or totally removed it! You can try drilling down tthrough Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features then click on turn windows features on or off, left hand pane. & look on the list for WMP.

How do you shrink down an ISO image for windows 7?

I have tried as you mentioned removing all extra Lang files very tedious task & doesn't net a huge reduction in source. You should use Dism to remove any features/appz that will help. You could also use this to compress the image, it probably saves about 200mb of space though is slower to install! In saying that USB installs are faster than optical anyhow. Good luck with it. -
