  1. Which File Extension are You? It seems I am the .MPG (movie) extension. What about YOU ?
  2. Gotta love this, being an opera user.... news.com OperaWatch
  3. Thanks for the heads-up Tarun! As for ExecSoft, I'd sincerely like to hear from them what exactly is it that they keep changing.... It feels like a beta when you need to download a new build every 2 weeks!
  4. Well, even 3.5.4 came out now.... I guess too many bugs...
  5. Ah, but as the author says, the biggest minus-points about a projector is that: 1. Its life is lesser than an average TV. 2. You will necessarily use it as a special thing (the example you gave ), unlike the utilitarian TV.
  6. Thanks to DL for sending this in. Anyone who has more to add to this is welcome!
  7. That's all? Why leave it at just one OS+apps and one games disc? Why not add a music disc and then a whateverelseyoucanthinkof disc? One of these days your uA is going to explode under the sheer weight of all that you have put in it. Anyways, I hope you use RW discs? (because otherwise you'll be wasting discs like insane)

So from now on, don't do that. Its called spamming and invites action against.... 3 years old thread brought up for no reason
  9. Yeah right, lol. I love my ISP for blocking ports 6665-6680 (used for IRC). And why did they do that? They believe I'd be dumb enough to not have a firewall of my own and would be vulnerable to IRC worms. Assumptions are known to be bad..... Anyways, at a minimum functional level, installing XPSP2 and leaving its Windows-Firewall turned on, can be quite enough for most home users. That the very same home users look at it as a hindrance instead of configuring it, is their own loss.
  10. @troycircle You don't need anything extra. If you just need to do a quick straight-forward transfer of files thru FTP, just go to: Control Panel >> Add/Remove Programs >> Windows Components >> IIS (server) >> FTPCheck that component for installation, have your WinXP disc ready in the drive... and you're done. Then just go to: (right-click) "MyComputer" click "Manage" (in left-panel) Computer Mangement >> Services and Apps >> IIS >> FTP site.Right-click it and configure your site with the IP address that you have been assigned (run "ipconfig" in CMD to find out your IP). That's it. Now you'll know which folder is your FTP root (would be of the form - C:\InetSvs\ftproot). Whatever files/folders you put there can now be accessed over the internet with your IP address being told to your cousin. For example: ftp://160.45.230.28/And by typing that into his address bar or download manager, he can directly get files from you. You can add more virtual folders to your FTP too, so that you don't need to copy files to the singular ftproot. All this is not complex - it would take you 2 minutes to set up. Once that is done, you just need to give your IP address to your cousin, and he can immediately access it and start getting files from you.
  11. Low interest? Well, I know I'm interested in this. Graphical way to change CDs during uA is a great addition! As for lack of posts in here.... that's got to be because topics just keep running away from main index. And then, ppl normally post only when they have a question, so.... Keep up the good work Nanaki - I'd like to see how this goes ahead to capture attention of users.
  12. huh? What was that for? Please refrain from pointless posts....
  13. haha! That's a nice way of putting it! Believe more in your product guys, we need no imports....
  14. Okay, now I'm confused. I believe this improved usage of BBcode for me, is because of upgrading to the latest version of Opera8. Because many other Invision forums are also working fine now for me. I can't yet say for sure coz I don't know if any such hack is recently been installed here.
  15. I agree. Cyrix M-II 233 MHz, 32 MB RAM, and 2.5 GB hard-disk says it loves WinME. If it was faster machines, I'd use XP with SP2.
  16. I suggest using WindowsXP itself....Win98 is too "creaky" and useless for anything - it gets bogged down and infected, etc. too easily. And winXP is better, also because you can strip it down better than windows 98. How? Check out nLite. nLite is a tool that (for those who use it), kicks 98lite and XPlite straight outta the window! My WinXPSP2 machine has all the annoying notifications and such... removed, occupies only 400 MB on HDD, memory usage is 45 MB on average (with pagefile disabled ), and runs like a rocket. How much better than that can you get?
  17. You can search directly from address bar if they use keyword-based searching. For example, if I wanted to search msfn forum for the keyword "combine", I would just type this into address bar: msfn combineThe search engine here is msfn and keyword is as specified. Similarly, you can do this: t songname.mp3 i songname.mp3 b yourfilename.exeThe first-alphabet itself is enough to tell it to go search in that site.... Now the method of doing this is different with each browser. So if you'd like more details, you may like to mention what browser you use, and any other info that you think is relevant.

  19. Oh my.... YEAH!Why didn't i think of it before
  20. Is that all? Then check out: http://cjb.net/ http://dot.tk/ http://www.freedomain.co.nr/ http://www.dyndns.org/
  21. Hey! Nice find..... firefox can open links and mail and MSN spaces and "my contacts" links.... using this plugin. It basically also allows MSN messenger to open links in MSN7 in your default browser.
  22. Yeah need to validate it from - http://stuffplug.com/?act=generate
  23. I care about thoroughly checking every line and confirming with posts in this thread, before declaring it to be the one that everyone should download.Till that time, everyone enjoy glent's updated file from 2nd post.
  24. Well, start firefox once... Then it puts the newly configured files in the user's directory - copy those to "%programfiles%\Mozilla\firefox\default\profile\" and over-write... Its done! you've killed that wizard now. You can also configure settings and THEN overwrite old files with the ones in user-folder....
  25. This is not news.... but it fits in here so.... Here's an interesting article discussing if you should choose a TV or a projector for your home theatre. View it
