Very nice.... thank you I noticed you can't CREATE subfolders though. I tried it to make an exe to execute to place my favorites links including subfolders to other links, but it only adds files and doesn't create subfolders......ie. C:\Documents and Settings\xxxx\Favorites\Uploads... If I remember correctly, isn't there a way to also add files AND folders? how about how to create an inf file to execute msi installers so iexpress can read?

I'll edit this post if someone(s) can give an explanation as to how one can create an exe from a cab file as some of us don't know how to. The very simple makecab command prompt does a nice job of compressing, however maybe one would also like to create an EXE out of a Win32 Cabinet Self-Extractor. An example would be the WindowsXP 3D ScreenSaver EXE... which is a Self-Extracting CAB. Any clues an hints as to how to create one? And maybe even how to include your own icon in it as well? ie. the ScreenSaver.exe Prog.

Please don't take any insult to this as none is intended whatsoever, but: 1. Here's the link you want: Internet Explorer 7 beta 3 Download Link 2. If your computer wise enough, you shouldn't need to ramp up Security on your computer as the settings on IE7 and Windows Defender work well enough ...IE7's Anti-Phising....great tool and Windows Defender shows in large RED friendly windows of any unauthorized access attempts to the system 3. Media Today just takes advantage of computer - illiterate users for sales.....hence the reason why there's so many different Anti-Virus programs out there. I've never....NEVER come across any malware/virus/Trojan on my systems and I've been Building/Repairing now for 4 years I find that AntiVirus progs just bog the systems down incredibly. (Helps ME make the money though, doesn't it? lol) -A-dministrative -T-ools -D-ownload -M-anagement -T-eam Microsoft's download page for IE7 is completely safe, I think buddy's just made you paranoid! (pat on shoulder)

winnt.sif file contains information regarding windows setup... it is located in (x):\WINDOWS\i386 (x) representing drive letter

Thanks guys, but I hardly doubt I can convince the entire world that runs XP do use this method....I need something/way to register the drivers so that when you plug the phones in AFTER installing the drivers, XP just installs the appropriate driver without any prompts ....these are unsigned drivers, so I figure that you'll automatically get the unsigned drivers prompt (which is fine)

K crew, here's one... I've created a msi installer for Motorola's USB Drivers.....puts the drivers in C:\Windows\System32\Drivers folder. Now, here's the pesky part... These drivers are for modifcations and access of Motorola phones. (Installs as Phone and Modems) When you plug in the USB Cable to a USB Port and then plug a phone to the cable, windows pops up the Found New Hardware wizard screen... These drivers are unsigned just so you know... How/what command line do I need to stop the found New Hardware wizard and to just have it so when you plug the phone into the comp, it installs the drivers automatically from the installer I've created? instead of popping up those pesky prompts...? Just to add, if it means anything, I'm using Installshield's basic MSI Builder to create this installer Title Edited - Please follow new posting rules from now on. --Zxian

Guys, we're getting off topic here... I was asking if someone could help me create an MSI INSTALLER out of eDonkey...NOT about what's the best program out there...<shaking my head>..follow the beginning topic
-
most likely using a transform file
-
Thanks for emule, but what about eDonkey?
-
1. WindowsXP Pro and updates 2. TweakUI 3. InstallShield 10.5 SP1 4. MSOffice2003 SP2 5. Adobe PhotoshopCS2 6. Adobe Audition 7. Nero Burning ROM 8. eDonkey2000 9. MS AntiSpyware 10. NFO Viewer (various other reg files and vbs thereafter)

Hello Crew, here's one I wonder if all you guys/gals can help me tackle: eDonkey2000 comes nsis'd... i want to make an msi out of it to act pretty much like the nsis installer it's packaged in.(something like how Winamp.msi is created to imitate the nsis installer) Give it a shot, it does NOT have SPYWARE, but it does however, come with adware for the non-purchased users (gives options to not install the adware bundled, but includes email banners in the top right of the program if not registered). Here's the download link to grab eDonkey2000 v1.4.3 for Win9x/ME/2000/NT/XP2003 I'm using InstallShield 10.5 SP1 using Basic msi installer, however, I'm not the most knowledgeable when it comes to msi installers....any help is appreciated

Anybody know how to slipstream Drviers to the Win 98 SE CD
XL-DJK replied to EiS's topic in Windows 9x/ME
lol... i guess not -
Installshield Evaluation is the best one... I personally don't like WISE... Install InstallShield...then click on open existing project, you'll see a selection that says AUTO....just change it to Wizard and then select your msi file........a window will open up asking if you want to direct edit or MSM edit... select MSM edit.direct editor does exactly what it says it does and DOES NOT MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF THE MSI;)
-
I know guys, I know, however there ARE some people out there who want to use **** NFO viewer, and I figured I'd create an msi to allow for unattended setup (not REALLY needed), but some like msi's, like myself

Let's Get Started...lol Windows Validation Link (ActiveX Control) GoodLuck! By the way....... If you haven't activated your copy of windows (which it'll let you know in the taskbar), you might want to. The above Link is useless unless XP is activated
-
here's a question......... is it possible to copy the activation information once activated so you can reinstall your OS and just place the activation files in the appropriate places to avoid having to phone M$ all the bloody time??
-
I think that's quite ignorant to say My question is, what about TrendMicro PC-Cillin 2006?
