  1. Once again, hello crew, I've managed to grab the latest version of **** NFO Viewer, the released version on here a while ago was v2.10.0031 This one's v2.10.0032RC3... I've repackaged it as an msi for silent install and left it pretty much the same as the Spoon Installer version that's floating around on the net.. (all the fancy pics and all) So, ladies and germs, here it is for grabs: http://www.msfn.org/staff/Alanoll/****.rar ENJOY!
  2. Try using ResHacker....and ResHack the appropriate command lines.... When I can get a host to post, I'll send you a link to grab ResHacker.. (should be anyday now)
  3. If you want, you can locate the msi for it, and then use q,r,n switches
  4. I have a question, it may be stupid, but here goes: I set up a small home network between my parents computers thru a Router they use so they can share files with each other by just clicking on My Network Places. eg. Mother sends my father a file, she clicks on My Network Places/Send to Father/(places file here) eg. Father clicks on My Network Places/Receive from Mother/(file placed by mother) Is it possible for me to gain access to this little Netowrk I created between them being that I live elsewhere? If so, how do I do this, I know both their IPs and Gateway...does this matter? BELL SYMPATICO HI-SPEED (TELEPHONE MODEM) MOTHER SETUP: all setup through Router from Modem IP address: 192.168.0.134 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.0.1 My Network Places - Computer ID on MSHOME: ECS-PIV1600MHZ BELL SYMPATICO HI-SPEED (TELEPHONE MODEM) FATHER SETUP: all setup through Router from Modem IP address: 192.168.0.140 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.0.1 My Network Places - Computer ID on MSHOME: VIA-AMD1600MHZ MYSELF USING ROGERS HI-SPEED EXTREME (CABLE MODEM) MYSELF SETUP: all Direct through CableModem IP address: 70.29.181.90 Subnet: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 70.29.181.1 My Network Places - Computer ID on MSHOME: ASUS-P4P800SE Do I need they're connection specific DNS Suffix to link to them? or am I just talking complete jibberish? lol ...and yes, they've given me permission to do this:).. I just don't know how...
  5. I've received quite a few PM's about this, so I've decided to post my installer. Here it is guys....... >Download ResHacker.msi Installer here< INCLUDES: Updated HelpFile Updated Links to Angus Johnsons' contact info as well as website Links in Startmenu and desktop to program Added a url link to Customizing the WinXP BootScreen Now has Add/Remove functionality Thank you to all who have PM ed me about wanting a copy, I'm sure that this version's going to fly like the wind! ENJOY!
  6. MSI FILE located in C:\Documents and Settings\**username***\Local Settings\Temp Mine's labeled 35f5761.msi but yours will be similar not the same. If your unsure, just right click on the msi and it should say in the summary panel: Title:Microsoft AntiSpyware Subject:Microsoft AntiSpyware Author:Microsoft AntiSpyware Now that you've extracted the msi from the exe, just use msi switches...makes life easier
  7. <phew> For a while there I thought I was the only one that reinstalls XP more then once a year on my systems.... I tell you, the preinstall method makes life a lot more simplar in the long run. It's very easy to just slap a few minor updates and reburn a copy every few months... especially with the new /integrate switch for the hotfixes...(I wondered when MS would get around to doing something like that) Batch scripting once learned, can be done with eyes closed (so to speak) so really, when you think about it, it's really not that big of a problem...
  8. Try Installshield.... works the best
  9. What do you mean...."on the copy"? I made a copy of the i386 folder and then ran C:\KB873333.exe /integrate:C:\i386 and received the same error....
  10. Below in order from TOP to BOTTOM is the list of Hotfixes that installed on my machine from MS Update in the particular order displayed. I d/l all of the below and started integrating all the ones that support "/integrate" switch (shown in blue)... I'm running WindowsXP Pro SP2 and have made sure that the hotfixes with errors were the RIGHT hotfixes to use, so why the error? (shown in RED) P.S. > Picture of error displayed in above post < KB893803 integrated KB898461 integrated KB892130 (Advantage Tool Unavailable for download) KB890859 integrated KB894391 integrated KB896428 integrated KB893086 integrated KB899588 integrated KB886185 integrated KB888302 integrated KB901214 integrated KB873333 error!!!! 11. So there's no way I can "integrate" my activation into the XPCD w/o having to actually go online? Like, throw my WPA.DBL into the i386 folder and it installs with XP with no problems by adding the wpa.dbl filename in the winnt.sif file?
  12. Hey guys, just integrating my wonderful list of hotfixes and stumbled upon this when trying to integrate KB873333 and KB885835: Using this command in RUN: C:\KB873333.exe /integrate:C:\XPCD C:\KB885835.exe /integrate:C:\XPCD what the hell's going on?
  13. Search Hint: SEARCH: Unattended + CD KEY
  14. How can I restore the Open Save As prompt back to original values... I goofed up and want to stop IE from automatically opening up files I click on a file to d/l... I want to restore it back to my good ol' Save As prompt ...found it.... ...my bad
  15. It seems to me you just killed the thread......
  16. Nice, I tried it out, problem is, I can't remove it...anyone have any thoughts?
  17. lol
  18. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It still freezes even if I don't run those apps, it just happens quicker. And I have retreived new copies as well to see if that was the case...nope... Last nigth I put in a 350watt PSU and my system's ran all nigth w/o freezing so I think I've nailed it down. I'll reply again on here if it freezes again
  19. Tell me something, is it normal for vcore to fluctuate from say, 1.5xx to 1.6xx? What is it, like -> more processor demand, more power?
  20. Thanks, that's the answer I've been thinking on for the day.... my PSU is brand new...450watt supply, and, now that you mention it, my unit HAS started to do some funky stuff around the same time I replaced my PSU. I think we've nailed it down to those 2 things... i think I have an older PSU I can try out and see what happens.... right now I'm running 2 HD's, CD Drive,DVD Drive, SBLive!PCI,USB 2.0 (2 jacks) and my 128MB AGP as well as a floppy drive. Haven't added anything to the system for the last 3 years in the way of additions besides upgrading my VideoCard and replacing my PSU solet's see what happens now, shall we?
  21. The system doesn't reboot... it just freezes. Especially when I'm running Adobe Audition, Overnet/eDonkey2000 or even PJ64 (N64 Emulator)... all of which are processor intensive. I had my CPU overclocked to 2.3Ghz 533Mhz, and noticed the freezing times increase slightly, so I'm honestly thinking that my Processor's conking out. 2 years ago, my uncle threw out a Motherboard saying that the owner said it used to freeze all the time. I looked into it, it turned out that the Retention Mechanism/Module was broken therefore not allowing the heatsink to disperse heat properly resulting in overheating 90c and the system would hang. I fiddled around with the heatsink... threw a little more heat paste on and found that I could bring temp back down to norm resulting in no more freezing. A year later the motherboard that came with the processor died, so I replaced the motherboard with another Socket478 - P4P800 SE, I got a new Retention module but I still was left with having the replace the clamp (mechanism). About 1 month ago, I noticed that it would freeze randomly, I have since bought a new clamp/heatsink hoping that it would solve the issue, but it hasn't. Basically saying -> I think that when the prev. owner of the P4 I'm running now used to own it, all the constant overheating has cooked the processor making it enevitable for my situation that's happening now. Unusual being that I've been using this processor for close to 2 years now with no issue since I've resolved the problem. Plus, I think I've just contributed to the shorter life of the processor by overclocking it. What do you guys think? Anyway I could do a benchmark on the Processor? Throw different "loads" onto the processor and then analyse the situation from there? I think that's my last hope....
  22. K, well, I ran memtest for about 9hrs with NO errors, anyone know of a good CPU tester for a Pentium?

  24. Well, my motherboard's at least 8months old (purchased) RAM'S only 3 months old HardDrive's 3years old Power Supply's for a P4 (not a 400watter though,) Radeon 9200 SE's a year old Gonna run Memtest and see what comes up and I am running on Default setups in Bios, still same issue
  25. O.K.... here's one to tinker with, I'm not sure where the problem lies, but here goes: My System randomly hangs.... nuff said Here's my Basic Debug method - I've tried installing/uninstalling programs I've downclocked my CPU to spec I've reinstalled my OS several times with various settings including defaults done a reboot using NEWEST Drivers Now, I've discovered when I install and load Overnet/eDonkey, or run Adobe Audition,my system hanging will happen within an 30min period, normally I've discovered it'll hang after an hour or 2....sometimes it'll go all day without hanging? I'm thinking maybe the Processor's conking out on me? it's reg temp is 45 which is the norm for P4 1.8Ghz and I've installed a Temp monitor to keep an eye on the issue.... temp stays the same... no spikes in range...I'm clueless Any thoughts/ideas on this?
