  1. My native tongue is Dutch, in fact Flemish. But I also speak English, French, German (very little) and err... Latin.
  2. 1) I think it's better to use 'setup.exe -R' (so capital r) 3) Shouldn't you use 'X:\Path\setup.exe -s -f1' ?
  3. Thanks prat! **** I'm being stupid last days... erased my hdd, couldn't think of that myself....
  4. What character coding do I have to set? I'd like to see some Chinese... Or is it only possible with Chinese OS'es...?
  5. Why not? It's not _that_ huge...
  6. Just wanted to let you guys know I've started working on the LAN driverpack! I've finished 3com, Broadcom, Buffalo and D-Link, Netgear, SiS drivers so far. Check the first page for more info greetz, Bâshrat the Sneaky
  7. in fact the correct translation is indeed half-pint, but I was only joking...
  8. hmm... And what are you saying? one pint of beer, two, three? glad you weren't offended
  9. How to install it can you find in this topic: Direct from the CD: MSI_FAQ.txt ****************************************************************************** Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 9.0 MSI_FAQ.TXT Copyright 2004 Symantec Corporation. All rights reserved. March 2004 ****************************************************************************** This file is a list of the most commonly used MSI commands for Symantec AntiVirus and Symantec Client Security. For a complete list of commands, properties, and features, see the Symantec Knowledge Base. BASIC MSI commands ------------------ /QN - Quiet No UI /QB - Quiet Basic UI /L*V log.txt - full verbose logging to file log.txt BASIC MSI properties -------------------- REBOOT=REALLYSUPPRESS SAV properties -------------- INSTALLSERVER= (1 = Server, 0 = Client, Default is client) SERVERGROUPNAME= (New or prexisting servergroup) SERVERGROUPPASS= (New or prexisting servergroup password. The default is symantec) NETWORKTYPE= (1 = Managed, 2 = Unmanaged, default is Unmanaged) SERVERNAME= (preexisting SAV Servergroup) RUNLIVEUPDATE= (run LiveUpdate during install = 1, do not run LiveUpdate=0, default is On) ENABLEAUTOPROTECT= (1 = ON, 0 = OFF, default is On) INSTALLDIR= (Install target directory, default is C:\Program Files\ Symantec AntiVirus) SERVERPARENT= (e.g. SERVERPARENT=MySavServer) Note: For a secondary server silent install from the command line, you must set the SERVERPARENT property to the Parent server computer name. When doing a UI or Symantec System Center rollout install, setting this property is not required. SAV features ------------ EMailTools NotesSnapin OutlookSnapin Pop3Smtp QClient SAVHelp SAVUI Adding and removing features ---------------------------- To remove existing features: REMOVE=<feature1>,<feature2>,<feature3> To add new features: ADDLOCAL=<feature1>,<feature2>,<feature3>, <existing feature 1>, <existing feature 2>, etc. Note: When adding new features using ADDLOCAL, any existing features on the target computer that you want to retain must be included in the features that you are specifying. The installation will remove any features on the target computer that are not listed. Command line example -------------------- This example demonstrates a silent Symantec AntiVirus Server installation. The server is named MYSAVSERVER and uses the password MYSAVPASSWORD. LiveUpdate is not run, and the server is not restarted even if its required. Sample command line: setup /s /v"/l*v log.txt INSTALLSERVER=1 SERVERGROUPNAME=MYSAVSERVER SERVERGROUPPASS=MYSAVPASSWORD RUNLIVEUPDATE=0 REBOOT=REALLYSUPPRESS" The best way to install newest updates is this one in my opinion. And you can download the newest updates here But like this it won't be 'merged' into source, but at least it's easy maintainable. (Which is more important IMHO)
  10. --BtS added a bookmark!-- Idea sounds good, site looks good, keep up the good work! P.S.: I'll see if I can find some fonts which aren't there yet.
  11. Ow... Can't help you with that... I'm using Dutch Windows and there's no SP2 out yet... (at least no final) Sorry, hope someone has already found a solution...
  12. Look in the Windows PE subforum link good luck
  13. I don't know anything about Daemon Tools in Windows XP SP2, but I do know it works perfectly in SP1... Just start the installer and go to your Windows folder, while setup is still runnning. Go to your Windows folder and look in a folder called _I_don't_remember_ (thought it was "Donwloaded Installations"?) and there you'll find the file "dt3xx.msi", which you can easily install thanks to the right switches. (Look in Application Switches forum) Contact me if you want me to send dt346.msi.
  14. Hmmm... There doesn't exist such a language... In Belgium we speak Dutch too
  15. What I have learnt? Always make back-ups!!! What I will do to prevent this in the future? Integrating the program Snapshot, mentioned by visaversa, into my Unattended XP CD!!! Data recovery completed. Partitioning completed. Copying recovered data...
  16. IMO this program should be on everyone's harddisk! (at least, on everyone who uses Windows... it's only compatible with Windows) Let's see if I can convince my dad to buy it
  17. I didn't know of that either... Something I'll add and keep in mind.
  18. That's why I posted here... I knew there were alot freeware utilities out there, but I didn't want to take the risk of (really) deleting/losing my data... @zbeta: over here it takes 40-50 minutes for my 80 GB hdd... and that's only for my NTFS partitions, I'm afraid I've been too lazy and still have some FAT32 partitions on it.. @GreenMachine: no offense, man! It's easier when someone can help you through msn _and_ in your mother tongue Which is why visaversa was my first choice. @ravashaak: I agree! From now on, you'll find backups everywhere in my room
  19. As I'm using that too, I'll try to find it out. (however Dutch SP2 will be released somewhere in September or so...)
  20. Thank you very much visaversa!!! Made another good friend, thanks to MSFN! Tried GDB on my current (non formatted) HDD and it found files I erased. I'll be using it tomorrow at the formatted one... So I can get started with the other driverpacks! Thanks to all for your replies, you helped me out within HOURS!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Are you sure it isn't just a Realtek? Anyway, mail it to me. EDIT: mail received, e-mail address removed thank you
  22. That's exactly what I'm trying... if I can get it to work...
  23. Thanks to visa versa, prathapml and GreenMachine! I'm tryin their solutions in the above order!
  24. Hi there! I think most of you, if you know me, know me of my driverpack(s). So why haven't I updated it for such a long time? Well, my pc is sold since the beginning of July. Recently my new pc arrived. I've had some trouble to get it stable (too high overclock, memory errors ==> corrupt hdd). Finally my pc is stable. Just an hour or so ago I was installing Windows (unattended ) and guess what... I ERASED THE WRONG HDD!!!!!!! STUPID ME!!!!!!! All my data was erased, all my backups: pictures, movies, music, documents, installation files and projects such as my unattended windows and office cd and my driverpacks.... I knew there was a real good program to get all my data back, and after a while I found it: Runtime's GetDataBack. The problem is: I have to buy it before it works... No money left for that atm. So I was wondering if someone could help me out? If you can, please contact me! I'll be grateful forever! (being your slave although is maybe a bit over the top )
  25. However I haven't tought about it as much as (it seems ) you did, I have to say it's very correct what you're saying. Most/many members of MSFN don't post if they don't know a good or useful answer. On other fora, it's indeed _kind of_ different... I hope I can still read other fora without being annoyed from now on...
