liuzhigao, did you use 1.4.1, did you confirm that the same preset works on older nLite? -

Wizmaster, hm it's impossible that 1.4.1 didn't help with SFC ON, everyone else confirmed that it's fixed. Please attach your preset. And did you try 1.3.5? Because this is "a bug" only if your config works on older nLite. -
Arneh, I just made the SP1 RC integrated from XP as secondary OS and this time it worked. Thank you. (first time I did it from another Vista, maybe messed up something else but the image was unusable, weird) jdeboeck, hey, haven't seen you in a long time. This captured thing is perfectly ok, boot.wim is not an issue and it seems like it switches to SP1 after the first reboot (the GUI changes a tiny bit, maybe unimportant). It would be perfect to have boot.wim updated as well but if it works who cares, nothing is copied from it into the final install. Since when do you surrender to what they decide? We capture so that we don't have to wait for them. Can't install SP on the lite install anyway. Can't configure at will, gotta install it for an hour every time after reinstall, cmon, did you forget how to be an enthusiast This integration makes it possible to have that extra option just in case. And even the direct integration worked until RC, they switched from offline to online package. It did have some extra errors so this capture is better since it has no errors.

Ok. In that case (winnt...dos, 16-bit) I would say keep Manual Install, 16-bit support and to be safe Command-line tools.
-
marauder16, I'm gonna simply turn my head the other way, you can contact me by email if you want explanation.
-
dezman2003, first it checks for \i386\winnt32.exe to determine if it's actually a good source which is unnecessary if you don't need manual install, you can check for any other file. But for now lets say Manual Install is needed. You decide if it can be changed to check for example i386\txtsetup.sif which is important installation file. Meph7799, if you try it please let me know how it goes, just remember to keep "Manual Install" component, or if this script doesn't actually rely on manual install (meaning if you just boot to install) then you can just copy the winnt32.exe from the full Windows to this i386 folder of the nlited one so that it passes that detection of source.

You're welcome. If you find any issue don't hesitate to report, I might have been a little harsh in my last post.

1.4.1 is up. It's ok we can consider this fixed, cary on with your normal usage

Updated to 1.4.1, just 2 important fixes.

And full Vista doesn't have that delay and disk issues? How can vLite be the cause if it doesn't edit the boot image Windows PE...ah. Search before asking, it's faster: http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPo...0&SiteID=17 That second problem could be the wrong key or wrong unattended settings on my part. I know you say it's valid key but I'm just saying from my experience while encountering that issue. Try without Unattended (delete autounattend.xml in the folder root and remake ISO).
-
iceangel89, if you just slipstreamed sp3, without enabling any other page except ISO of course, then nLite isn't to blame for that pcmcia error. However you could try different ISO engine, you can change that option in the ISO page (try mkisofs). And if you did configure it attach your preset and I'll try it. So far SP3 works the same as SP2. We all integrate update packs, hotfixes and what not so it was prepared for any file changes. wazer, can you name a few new things? I thought there is none.

Kaneda, crashed during setup with just IE sounds interesting to me, what was the message, where is the preset, do I have to raise my voice ?

dchard, heh it is highlighted in the components page, top blue bar. In Nero select DVD in the upper left corner combo of the New Compilation window.

XP installation hangs with 9 min left: "Saving settings"
nuhi replied to kingharrie's topic in nLite
Everyone missed my post? I said it's fixed, it was SFC filtering issue. Either disable SFC or wait new version which is out tonight. -
dezman2003, welcome to the forum. Regarding that compatibility issue you mentioned. There is nlite tutorial on your site, after that is done you can continue with the modifications any way you want, at least that's how it should be. Now, what do you mean doesn't work well with your script, certain driver or component it needed or the way nlite modifies some file and breaks what the script expects? If you have the exact error I can help you locate the issue.

dchard, sure is, that's very few removed and you skip all the big ones. I can not imagine that you need Chinese, Japanese and such but it's your choice. Maybe there is a misinterpretation, selecting the component on the list means remove, ones kept unselected will not be removed. marauder16, hm interesting, please attach the last session_u.ini file but FIRST edit it and replace your sensitive data with some examples keeping the same synthax. dchard, for trial you don't have to enter any key, just select skip key and skip activation. You will have 30 days to evaluate, then you have all the options you need in the Control Panel - System to activate.

Never had that issue and judging from the Google searches it's not something new for the Daemon tools so try to search if you didn't. They mention FAT type, corruption of data and so on. For example: http://www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fe...l?msg_id=00BiU3 This one is for NT4.0 but it shows important note about the CD type, maybe yours is CD-i as well. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...b;en-us;Q155120 Have you tested that in full Vista when you're posting here? Only related thing that I can think of would be Imapi component.
-
madbull, btw have you tried keeping just IECore, that would allow OOBE to use HTML classes. You don't have to have IE shell to be able to use MS HTML engine. Like Maxthon does. I always kept full IE because I test the website in it.
-
Configure it any way you want, test it in virtual pc, after you're satisfied with it then use this to deploy it: http://eeetutorials.blogspot.com/2007/11/i...-usb-thumb.html He even has a nice nLite guide: http://eeetutorials.blogspot.com/2007/12/t...ow-to-slim.html

Yes the unattended issues are all from that preactivated version. Please lets not talk about it, it's forbidden. Attach your preset and I'll check what you removed, judging from the Windows size you basically didn't remove anything, maybe 100MB max. Min Windows folder is below 2GB. ISO down to around 500MB. With all removed that is, but then again there are some big components like Languages, Natural Language, Media Center, Sample media and such which when removed it should be significantly smaller without loosing any commonly used functionality (if you don't use Media Center for example).
-
aviv00, yeah the same. More files can be removed in Vista because there is no actual setup (just image extraction, hw detection and unattended passes) so less files are needed for that process. But there are a lot more components so that advantage isn't obvious so far. legolash2o, nicely put.
-
aviv00, nah, the DLL was definitely locked by usage. Try it yourself in virtual machine. I even had to keep some dlls because other services would break. They all load each other, it's a total mess. Btw what posts, no one deleted anything from here.
