  1. If the program you want has a switch to change the installation directory, you can use that.
  2. After you download/install the update, search your disk for something like "Windows6.0-KB943729-x64.cab".
  3. Maybe its box full of accessories/cables for the Vistron 37Inch TV.
  4. I say just leave the feature-rich programs to third-party developers. They do a good job of making them. Besides I think Windows has too many programs already
  5. Does the computer need to be really cheap or something? Id get a good quality case/power supply and get the mobo separately. Also why AMD? I prefer Intel atm since its faster.
  6. hard disk: Western Digital WD6400AAKS As for memory, look at this thread.
  7. What I did is download KB943729 using Windows Update, then I retrieved the cab download. Integrating the cab version works fine.
  8. Correct, it says txtfile. No I do not see Edit (see pic in previous post). Thanks anyways.
  9. For me, Firefox 3 was a great relief from Firefox 2's horrendous memory usage.
  10. I currently have: 1x Western Digital WD800JB 1x Western Digital WD1600AAJS 1x Seagate ST340211 I also used to have: 2x Western Digital WD800JB Except for that one anomalous Seagate, its all about Western Digital baby
  11. If you trust System Machanic, then just select Allow when Threatfire prompts you. "Potentionally malicious action" does not mean its malware.
  12. I just reread my link and now Im confused. Windows XP/2003 (32-bit) can use hardware DEP but Vista (32-bit) cannot? WTF.
  13. But not everyone has 4GB or more. If you have less than 4GB, then the biggest benefit of 64-bit goes straight out the window. No not really: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/912923
  14. I tried that and it still shows??
  15. Happy Birthday RyanVM!
  16. The classic logon is gone but you can tweak the Welcome Screen to act like classic logon.
  17. 1. iirc only Vista Ultimate's DVD comes with both 32-bit and 64-bit. 2. The T8100 is a 64-bit processor so naturally it supports a 64-bit OS.
  18. You can download from Softpedia.
  19. For text files, how do I remove the "Edit" option? For shortcuts, how do I remove "Pin to Start Menu" and "Add to Quick Launch"? Im on Vista btw. Thanks.
  20. You havent heard of vLite? Their forums are right here.
  21. I agree with luke.mccormick > If you have adequate hardware, then Vista is great.
  22. Usually you cant, so its best to do a test installation of your lite Vista using a virtual machine like VirtualBox or VMware Player.
  23. Is bumping really old threads common on these forums?
