  1. Get yourself a Juniper Barracuda (hardware firewall). Got a few of these babies at work and I'm very happy it doesn't let employees waste their time looking for pr0n
  2. I've been using Gigabyte boards for the past 3 years or so, and none has crapped on me yet. Had 2 Asus boards last year, out of which one is sitting somewhere in the shed, waiting for the spring clean-up to get recycled... You do the math.
  3. Since you are using an add-on video-card, it is normal for the built-in graphics card to be disabled. That's why the device manager complains about it not starting

  5. Daemon Tools - doesn't install Nero 9 - works NOD32 v.3.0 - works Steam - works

  7. First off, Welcome to THE Forum, heartsiphobia! As to your problem, that is a strange behaviour indeed, as Nerwin pointed. Could you give an example of a site which denies your access to it so we can try and duplicate your issue? @Nerwin Should someone enforce such a check on their website, they would verify your location through reverse lookup, meaning resolving your IP to a ISP, and that has absolutely nothing to do with the regional settings in Control Panel of your PC
  8. I laughed my a$$ off...
  9. You have 2 choices: 1. When asked what program to use for performing the command, go to Browse and then explore down to your Windows folder, chose Explorer.exe and select "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" or 2. Use CCCleaner.
  10. With such dramatic fall in prices I don't see any reasons why not having 4GB of RAM and a Core2Duo (or equivalent) that can handle all default services loaded at start-up to run during games, etc. With the machine in my signature using Vista Business x64, I have NO services disabled or any other tweaks applied and it flies through games, including Crysis Warhead.
  11. On Vista PC check that "Password Protected sharing" is set to OFF.
  12. Yes, there is, from Intel themselves: http://www.intel.com/pressroom/archive/rel...0080811comp.htm EDIT: Reason for edit - mispelled a couple of words
  13. Just read here: http://www.gamespot.com/hardware/blogs/har...g=picks;title;2
  14. It should have pop up an error message, as the installer needs service pack 2 at least to properly install the drivers and supporting software.
  15. This might be of some help: http://www.overclock.net/nvidia-drivers-ov...s-flashing.html Good luck!
  16. Mods, please move this thread to the Network forum. @Hossam Please tell us exactly why you need a public IP address assigned to your pc.
  17. ... and develop a proper driver for their cards.
  18. What do you see in "My Computer"? Could you please upload a screenshot?

  21. you're better off using a virtual network connection to it, using a software such as realvnc, ultravnc, etc... or better still look up www.logmein.com
  22. Done it myself, no problems arised
  23. Just like in XP you can F8 and chose Safe Mode. Does it work that way?
  24. I've been through quite a number of graphics cards (can't even remember how many) but the only one that has died on me was a Sapphire ATI9200 SE. It simply died out of the blue.
