  1. Here a list of everything in this thread. I'll try to keep the list updated MmFreeContiguousMemorySpecifyCache MmAllocateContiguousMemorySpecifyCache NdisQueryBufferSafe _aulldvrm KeBugCheck KeRegisterBugCheckReasonCallback KeDeregisterBugCheckReasonCallback InterlockedPushEntrySlist InterlockedPopEntrySlist NdisMRegisterUnloadHandler NdisIMCopySendPerPacketInfo NdisInitializeString KeLowerIrql KeRaiseIrqlToDpcLevel _vsnwprintf HidNotifyPresence TdiCopyBufferToMdl TdiCopyMdlToBuffer ZwDeleteValueKey WdfVersionUnbind WdfVersionBind KeReadStateEvent InterlockedExchangeAdd KeQueryActiveProcessors RtlUpcaseUnicodeString WmiTraceMessage WmiQueryTraceInformation IoAssignResources IoReportResourceForDetection HalDispatchTable RtlLargeIntegerDivide IoReportDetectedDevice HalMakeBeep IoSetCompletionRoutineEx ExFreePoolWithTag IoSetHardErrorOrVerifyDevice ZwOpenSymbolicLinkObject
  2. The version in the service pack is definitely the last for Win98.Have you notice in the spoiler, only newer files from 2000/WinXP will be added. I also added WinME USB only files.. MDGx 98SE2ME can take care of people who want to swap out files. We are @ about 300 downloads on SP3 and only had a few problems. I have to say we all have done a great job. Now that we have all the Win98SE updates, I can focus on newer files from 2000/WinXP WDMSTUB.SYS does work wonders, but unless more functions get added to the STUB then we will be cut off. I have been testing wifi/wireless cards, and have posted the missing functions in the proper thread.
  3. Hang on a sec, I think I may have misread. I thought you had found a newer Win2K "USBHUB20.SYS." If it is indeed just "USBHUB.SYS" it will replace a 98SE USB1 driver stack file. Not to say that it may not work fine under 98SE, just needs more extensive tests. Trust me, I've been seeing a lot of headache with USB driver stack files lately. Not as much as someone else I know, but enough. OK It'll be a few months before I release 3.1. Hopefully someone with a USB modem can test. Thanks again LC B)
  4. Thanks You are awesome LoneCrusader.
  5. I don't have a USB modem, but I do have digital cams/usb flash drives. It works on my system with no problems. Some say other files were buggy, but I added them to service pack. You get better results on a clean install. I prefer to test on a clean install, that way you are only dealing with system files. You are able to pinpoint problems that way.
  6. WinME version of the files (DOES NOT) work
  7. I have been testing USBHUB.SYS 5.0.2195.7006 Windows 2000 SP5. It works with no issues on intel boards. I'm not sure what troubles it will bring for VIA controllers/chipsets.
  8. This might be our only HOPE
  9. Only on request. I left this out of U98SESP3 because its a big package, and some people might not even need. I have limited software on my computer. I don't need a program that requires 10 other programs to run. The software I use doesn't even require me to have any version of NET Framework.
  10. Its a shame All good things must come to an end. I buy old laptops on craigslist, just so I can run Win98. Most are in mint condition. This might help if you decided to come back.
  11. 98SE2ME BUGS 1. VCACHE.VXD 4.10.2223 was deleted 2. HIDCLASS.SYS 5.1.2600.5512 was replaced with WinME version 3. HIDPARSE.SYS 5.1.2600.5512 was replaced with WinME version 4. HIDUSB.SYS 5.0.2163.1 was deleted
  12. This is NOT a backup topic. START your own topic and quit getting on my nerves
  13. I did a clean install, installed all the drivers except the sound card. Then I installed SP3, and then the sound card.Everything worked fine. No need to downgrade the files now. Thank you sooo mucccccccch LoneCrusader
  14. Why would it be? People are going to choose whatever suits them best.
  15. I bet the poster tcobb64, that was having USB problems if replacing USBAUDIO.SYS with the original, all would be fine. I will add notice in 3.1.
  16. Glad you enjoying your systems. Thanks for testing
  17. Yes, tested every single file. You must replace all files because they coincide with each other.
  18. You are right, but it only causes problems with Crystal Sound Cards. I have replaced the files below with the original Win98SE files and my sound is back.KMIXER.SYS 4.10.2223 PORTCLS.SYS 4.10.2223 SBEMUL.SYS 4.10.2223 SYSAUDIO.SYS 4.10.2223 WDMAUD.DRV 4.10.2223 WDMAUD.SYS 4.10.2226 Some people recommend using CWAWDM.SYS 6.13.10.4140, but since neither CWAWDM.SYS 6.13.10.4140/6.13.10.4159 works with the newer .SYS files, I think I'll stick with V6.13.10.4159. Thank you very much LoneCrusader/submix8c
  19. Thanks for helping. I already have Crystal CS4205 v.6.13.10.4159 installed. Everything works fine until I install any version of the Service Pack. Crystal CS4205 v.6.13.10.4159 drivers are the ones that came with the system. Once I install SP then I lose sound and get the ntkern.vxd error.
  20. @ bristols The rootsupd link at you site points to version 28,0,2195,0, when it sould be pointing to version 36,0,2195,0
  21. Did you ever get the files working?

  23. I installed Service Pack 3 on a Dell Latitude C610, which has a Crystal sound card. After installing the service pack I lose sound. Under device manager I get the following error message, The NTKERN.VXD, MMDEVLDR.VXD device loader(s) for this device could not load the device driver (Code 2) Although this was related to the earlier service packs, I am having a similar problem, only it is not USB related. Deleting drivers, etc is not working.
  24. I think the best solution is Add the USBHUB20.SYS 4.90.3000.11 as VSBHUB20.SYS. Have it present in the Windows\system32\drivers directory. If you have a VIA chipset/controller then delete the Microsoft default USBHUB20.SYS 5.0.2195.6891 while already in safe mode, rename VSBHUB20.SYS to USBHUB20.SYS 4.90.3000.11. REBOOT!
