I can add the file if needed. What version should I use? Where should the file be placed on the system? I need a app that requires the files for testing. Thank you.

I don't have this files on my computer. I have no software that requires it. If it is needed by others, then I will add it. Thank you

Do you have any Universal Plug and Play devices? If you don't, then its no need to install it.If you do have UPNP devices, you still have to configure it. The service pack only install files, you have to do the actual configuring yourself. Maybe someone with an 440BX chipset can help us. Thank you for testing

Unofficial Win98 FE SP version 2.58
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to erpdude8's topic in Windows 9x Member Projects
How selfish of you. What if others could use those patches to help their system. I guess we are all known for something. -
It has been some years. Glad to see you in this neck of the woods Heres the Link Many people who want to localize the SP will find it useful

I guess that's why HFSLIP goes by date and not by version. I don't know if I missed any, but I think I have all the latest working updates as of now for SP3. I'm sure if I continue working on it, I will find more ways to improve it. Thanks again

Thanks for the tool As you can see I have updated some files in the SP from using your tool. I always thought we was suppose to go by the version number. Apparently I was wrong. Thanks again.

All files that are (NOT) language neutral, put them all in the same folder. We canNOT go any further until you have all the none language neutral files in the same folder.

USBUI.DLL 5.1.2600.5512 Windows XP SP3 works with no problems

Is it possible to use MSBATCH.INF to slipstream SP3? I'm looking into making things easier.

htrn_jis.dll – internal Decoding Library(RAW) for Protocols

Put them all in the same folder. For HHCTRLUI.DLL only use your version.
-
All the files that are not language neutral get them and put them in a folder. Make sure they are the latest, the same version as in SP3 but your language. Then get back at me.

When you get ready to tackle Windows 95 let me know. Just kidding You willing to help makes it all the better. Unlike some others with their (put this in - take that out etc......).Everyday I search for a newer compatible file from Windows 2000/XP. Just to make sure the SP has the latest version. Some wouldn't dare

Do you have any plans for ME Service Pack? Thats funny you asked that. I wanted to create an U98FESP3 + UMESP3. I wanted to have total control over the Win9x SP scene. I'm still considering it. It would be so easy at this point, that all packs would be almost identical except for the main system files. All of the optional components should work on all version except for a couple that I would have to remove like Agent 2.0 + WMI which is already included in WinME.

USB 2.0 NOTICE - Unplug all USB devices. Install main updates.Remove all current USB/EHCI drivers + controllers from Device Manager in safe mode. REBOOT! Let all drivers redetect on startup. Plug in USB devices one at a time. If no new USB devices have been added, then you only need to do this procedure (ONCE)!

I'm going to release an update sometime next week. I have exhausted all possibilities. The are no new updates or files that I know of to work with SP3. I'm about to devote my time to Windows 2000. I have been working on the SP since last October. I think all bugs are quashed and its very stable. Loved working on U98SESP3. If any bugs occur, I will fix them immediately. Love you guys/gals

What type of keyboard is it?

Promise you won't yell at me if I tell the truth? Graphical objects have impact on resources. If something isn't absolutely necessary, then better scratch it. I'm not one of the minimalists or purists that don't use skins in Revolutions Pack and stick to original 98 icons and stuff, but other than that I'd hate seeing 98SE become as bloated as its younger relatives since XP (that one included). Anyway, that's just a blunt personal opinion, nothing more, so feel free to disregard it. While I'm here, please note that I've updated the Compare SP utility in the post above to v0.2.0.0 which includes the ability to search in subfolders too. I'm not a big fan of bloatware myself. Thats why I like to ask people opinions about things. I can accept any constructive feedback.I also like an honest person. I'm not a big fan of skinning Win98, but I do love the Windows 7 look better than anything. For the SP3 users don't worry, I'm not going add things just to be adding things. I have it on my system and just wanted to see what you guys thoughts were. It wasn't aimed @ you. I wasn't yelling @ you the 1st time. I need to learn how to be more direct and specific. Thanks for the Compare file. I'll test it later today.

What do you guys think about this new runbox? I have not added it.

I'm not sure if its an update inside SP3, but I got the properties to work. Heres what I did. Load any MP4 video. Stop the video. Go to filters and click on the DivX H.264 Decoder Filter and change your settings. These files from Windows 2000 SP4 also works. H261_32.AX 5.0.2195.6611 H263_32.AX 5.0.2195.6611

Never give up or regret anything. You will learn here @ MSFN if you stick with it. I couldn't have done SP3 without peoplelike Drugwash, dencorso, rloew and many others.
