  1. I have a question for everyone watching this thread... Choice A: Build Winamp MSI based off of 5.09 Choice B: Wait for 5.091 which is SUPPOSED to be out at the end of the week, so that all of 5.09's bugs are fixed and no one complains. Just post your vote
  2. @Sesshoumaru That problem has been fixed in 5.091 as far as I know. The slower startup is caused by the AOL Video tab in the Media Play List as it tries to access a AOL server to retrieve the lastest "free videos" information and stalls Winamp till it times out. There will be a checkbox in the next release to disable this.
  3. just because.... you could have just added a reply saying you got it working rather then deleting the entire post...and then perhaps tell how you got it working incase others have the same questions.
  4. I'm currently about 4 hours from my test rig, and won't be heading back for about another 12-16. I plan to start working on it once I get settled back in. Tomorrow night I should atleast have a working version for me to work somes bugs out of.
  5. You're coming form teh assumption that you want everything done as fast as possible. I'm coming from the assumption that SOMETHING will go wrong, and it's easier to diagnose one error whether it's caused by user error or by nLite removing something that you didn't know.
  6. I suggest creating the Unattended disc, then testing. Then recreate using nLite. Just DON'T make the final ISO untill after you've made the final changes (adding the $OEM$ folder and such). This maybe more time consuming, but if you do it all at once you may get a bug and be unable to find it's cause.
  7. Last I saw, MS does not distribute any AIO version CDs with different versions of their OS (XP and 2K for example). So for this fact, we will NOT help you. As an unspoken rule, we will NOT knowingly help someone who is using pirated software.
  8. regardless of whether it's an Opera issue or not, I really should make the site as standards compliant as possible. HTML4.1 Transitional most likely as that's what IE6 adheres to (most of the time)
  9. My MSI was built with InstallShield X.
  10. It works in the original. and will remain working in the original. Actually I'm thinking about switching to XML or atleast adding support for it (sorta like what Adobe did with Creative Suite 2)
  11. I lean toward user error. Why wouldn't it? ALL XP versions need to be activated unless they're VLK. Even OEM versions are activated, just differently then retail version. The OEM versions have a OEMBIOS.BIN file that locks the preloaded activation to the machine it was intended for, otherwise normal activation via internet or phone is required.
  12. forgot modifyPE didn't you?
  13. alrighty... I'll reup the original CDIMAGE files as well as the current ones to please all
  14. Keep the file, the original will be updated within a few days. 1. The anger could possibly come from someone taking what I made, changing it slightly and then uploading it. This is acceptable practice in OPEN SOURCE solutions and infact encouraged. But I did not make the original files available, so you basically reversed engineered my MSI. I believe what could also be a good idea, is to mention what "customizations" you made to the MSI...
  15. I've said when it will be released before, end of THIS week. I have to finish up my finals first (though if I don't start packing tomorrow night, it might be tomorrow night)
  16. thank you for stealing my work
  17. It, and the applications db.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But to do that, I'll need to learn 2 more languages....oh my.... as if C++, Assembly, and Java weren't enough.
  18. dang it! I stopped making it W3C compliant primarily becaue almost EVERY page would have to be rewritten for the minority of people using Opera browsers. But since finals are almost over....I'll look into it. Now to decide which standard to adhere to.....there's just so many. HTML 4.0 Transitional is probably the one that is closest to the current site.
  19. Windows Post-Install Windows Installation Helper Utility XPlode WAIT 3 of the above 4 have their own forums further down the main listing.
  20. here's the problem.... I recreate the Installer as fully as possible. I don't add any files that aren't already included in the original installer.
  21. Links to the Nero guide to make the CD. If I add it to the Unattended guide, then there is redunancy. If you just use CDIMAGE and burn the ISO, it's the same effect.
  22. sure....i've been busy lately (me and the admin have access to edit the site) but sure... But how about being clearer, what were the errors? be specific, as the site is quite large.
  23. nope, not public. Though it was released to the WinHEC conference attendees, it's not considered a public release.
  24. the problem comes when you're editing a compiled file. If you add more characters, the internal addresses of the file to OTHER functions or text become and the file no longer works.
  25. http://unattended.msfn.org/advanced/cosmet...lboard/text.htm Didn't I just link you to this site almost 24 horus ago? Hell, that page tells how to change ALL the text on teh screen, but you didn't fully read it. Also, use MY recommended program. ResEdit doesn't save the foreign characters properly (the XML of it), so use ResourceTuner.
