Careful! lets not get political! Rules and all. -
Um.. WUT? You obviously have WPI -already- running! Try CTL+ALT+DEL (Task Manager) and see if you have MULTIPLES running. Only -one- can run at a given time.

No Flasche. Google "Demolition Man" (Sylvester Stalone). -
I will -attempt- to address you "list" as accurately as possible. a - MP9 b - XP's IE6SP1 c - Search for "MSXML*.*" on HDD (varies v6.c/8.x) http://support.microsoft.com/kb/269238 d - IE-related e - See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Script_Host (and links inside) f - dotNET1 SP1 (DOTNETFX+NDPSP) within DOTNET folder g - VB5+VB6 h - AFAIK, none i - RDC 5.1.2600.2180 (MSRDPCLI in the SUPPORT\TOOLS folder) j - Open MDAC.INF inside the "WINDOWS\INF" folder. (more than MDAC http://support.microsoft.com/kb/231943) * - (whatever...) - LBA48 - Yes - See this - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphics_Device_Interface (WHAT "application" are you referring to?) Guess I should ask - what is your concerns? (Really wierd question, IMHO) You realize that many items you speak of (e.g.) dotNet don't just "get installed"? After all, they weren't in Win2K either, right? You had to Install "after the fact". Try going to WindowsUpdate and reviewing "Optional Components" to get the drift. edit - best to just Integrate ALL post-SP3 (http://xdot.tk), install, then go to WU to "check" what's left. ...and FYI, here is the COMPLETE SP3 (has SP3 EXE and new/replaced "other" folders - DOTNETFX/SUPPORT/VALUEADD) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=25129 HTH

"The update does not apply to your system" Server 2008 x86
submix8c replied to MrMaguire's topic in Windows Server
Sure! 1 - Extract the WindowsXP-KB969084-x86-enu.exe to "somewhere" 2 - In the SP3GDR folder are all the files - create an "en-us" sub-folder 3 - MOVE the "*.mui" files to it You can actually run "mstsc.exe" from there. Normally, the files would be placed into "Windows\System32" folder note that the "en-us" is a sub-folder within the System32 folder. If you so choose to actualy overlay the Originals, I would recommend backing up the original files. Note that some of the filenames in the KB are not in the original Win2k3 (or XP) folders. I haven't even TRIED the Vista/7/(Server2k8) ones yet since I'm not really sure how -or- if it would even work (probably not). Again, bear in mind that it "seems" pointless (or maybe not?). Also note that the DLLCACHE folder still has the the Original files in it - and I haven't tested the Connection yet (been busy otherwise). Finally, using SFC would (probably) revert you. HTH DISCLAIMER! it's up to you to "fiddle" with and I take no responsibility for the consequences. EDIT! And here is the "solution" to the missing Domain/Password fields - http://superuser.com/questions/659869/where-do-i-enter-domain-in-remote-desktop-from-windows-xp -
Please don't - simply clarifying. You seem to be another one of those "touchy" individuals. It does seem "odd" that -just- INF-files would cause that.
-
Well, the POINT of said MSBATCH.INF/REGentry is (as I said before) SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED for OEM Installs (per MACHINE-Model. You have been going outside of that (not-OEM). There's also an OEM Preinstall Kit, as I said somewhere else as well. I have an IMAGE of one that actually asks if you want to install Win95 -or- Win98 and "acts accordingly". Basically, you're trying to go outside of the intended use. Good luck with your "new project". O/T (slightly) - UBCD was NEVER intended to be an all-encompassing - keyword there is UNATTENDED. The Drivers were an afterthought.

Forget it, jaclaz. The OP won't say (I've already asked). It's a "secret".
-
Not to be argumentative, but the OP -apparently- wants to "recreate" an Original ISO (for whatever purpose) Here is what I've been able to scrape up (and I don't have -all- info on which OS was built with which Utility) I can -definitely- tell you that 95OSR2.0 (08/24/1996) was built w/ v2.12. I can also tell you the OP is absolutely correct (a/l per RTM). Apparently the good guys at MS had not necessarily rhyme or reason to their madness. Sorry, OP, you'll just have to "hack" your v2.39. HTH edit - One might ask why you need to exactly reproduce it anyway? (and about that date, as jaclaz said)

You'll be interested to know that I just "swapped" some files (after backup, of course ) from RDP 5.2 (2K3-x86-SP2 test bed) to RDP 7.0 (KB969804 for XP) and it works just fine. edit - be aware you WILL lose some fields in it when expanding Options (e.g. Domain Name). -

@jaclaz - Guess what? I can currently access HFSLIP just fine - in both the Running OS (w/FF12) and the above XP(w/IE8). As I have repeatedly stated (as have others), it -appears- to be "randomly" inaccessible. Just because PersonA said they can't at TimeA and subesequently PersonB said they can at TimeB doesn't constitute PersonA's assertion that at TimeA there is a problem that they are wrong. (Jumbled sentence, hope you understand the point.) So, PLEASE, folks, don't be PersonB. Thank you, and HTH Maybe I should somehow archive/mirror the website? Any suggestions on what software should be used? I -assume- that this will work (same info both links) - http://www.createdbypete.com/articles/make-a-local-website-mirror-with-wget/ http://fosswire.com/post/2008/04/create-a-mirror-of-a-website-with-wget/ At least that way I can insert it into my personal website and can enable it for anyone that may need (archived) access. Thoughts/comments/suggestions? Bueller, Bueller?

??? Maybe Enabling SSL2 or SSL3 (in FF)? The strange part is Google Translate DID work just fine! And to note that I DID change my DNS Servers in the Router -and- the XPSP3 -does- have IE8 Installed (SSL2?). If you Google that first phrase you'll find it's been happening. Oh, and to note that "HTTPS" is -not- auto-inserted into, e.g. MSFN. Therefore one must -assume- that the Website has something to do with it(?). AND... NOPE! Disabled both SSL2 -and-SSL3 in my Test Bed XP. Guess I should note (also) that my XP (and my running OS) are -not- updated past the latest Service Pack (maybe that's it???). Phhht - Under XPSP3+IE8, going to Google Translate I get a message And the HFSLIp website STILL doesn't "fly". AND I did this (for Google Translate) and it fails to even TRY to translate! http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie8-windows_other/stopping-security-warnings-on-trusted-sites/3f5bc58a-30d2-4dd8-a395-c556d19973f6 The German one here - http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/171745-multiboot-cd/#entry1077465 Go figure... edit - THANK you dencorso! VINDICATED! Now about the HFSLIP ALTERVISTA website. As I have previously stated -any- other AlterVista websites (except the ROOT Domain Name) work just fine.
-
Well isn't this just dandy! Using https://translate.google.com/ and entering a WebSite address it issues the following although entering TEXT for translation works fine. After digging a little and then trying it, IMMEDIATELY after the message is issued (DO NOT click "Dismiss"), remove the "S" in the Address Bar to force non-Secure. ANOTHER message will be issued IGNORE IT! I wondered why it begain failing recently. Note that it FORCES the "S" in until you use the above procedure. Gotta love Google for going WAY overboard! Your other alternative is BING Translate or "some other" Online Website Translator. I certainly hope this helps someone. (@#$%^&* sez I...)

Well, it -appears- that the Variable is INITIALLY placed in "HFTOOLS\HFANSWER.INI", so it -appears- that since you didn't use that in your Run, then the Variable is NOT set -and- it uses "Default". IF EXIST HFTOOLS\HFANSWER.INI FOR /F "DELIMS=" %%I IN ('FINDSTR/R "=" HFTOOLS\HFANSWER.INI') DO SET %%ISee? -IF- it Exists -THEN- each-and-ever-Variable that it -FINDS- will be Set. Guess you should find a good set of instructions on that FileName... STILL can't access the Website http://hfslip.altervista.org BUT here is that GoogleCache I had given in you other thread (AFAICR) - http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:aRkuO3RoDcYJ:http://mimo.zxq.net/yellow/extras.htm%2Bhfslip+hfanswer&as_nlo&as_nhi&lr&cr&safe=offactive&hl=en&&ct=clnk HERE is another Cache page from the AlterVista - http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?as_q&as_epq=hfanswer.zip&as_oq&as_eq&as_nlo&as_nhi&lr&cr&as_qdr=all&as_sitesearch&as_occt&safe=offactive&as_filetype&as_rights&hl=en&&ct=clnk&q=cache:wU9YUohVkfAJ:http://hfslip.altervista.org/yellow/downloads.htm%2B%22hfanswer.zip%22 (notice I searched on "hfanswer.zip") HERE is the HFANSWER "defaults" File http://web.archive.org/web/20071107184525/http://hfslip.org/files/X/HFANSWER.ZIPAgain, you will HAVE to dig a little, since I can't seem to access AlterVista site. If YOU can, have a look around. The answers are all there. edit - Try this - http://web.archive.org/web/20071027153355/http://hfslip.org/ -this- appears to be the LAST "good" one - http://web.archive.org/web/20091114052612/http://hfslip.org/ HTH GIANT EDIT - I suppose that you should ALSO read the NEXT post. ...and AAARGGG! Google Translate gives FITS so I used (ugh) Bing Translate for the German Link given (above). It says EXACTLY what is indicated - MAKE A SLIP PASS FOR EACH one-by-one, then create a NEW place to MAKE that CD according to instructions.

Meh - you can see a pic of me just about anywhere... You ARE "The Finder" - and I don't hide myself. Video Conference? I don't think so! We have too many similar foibles. Hmmm... Lync 2010 -appears- to be compatible with XP (googled on the folder-names) - http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/lync/en-US/2505bdba-baf2-497d-8307-3cbc1f7f7fd7/microsoft-lync-2010-default-profile-issue edit - Yep, part of Office365 (a "bug") - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2604176

@Explorer09 - Umm. fine! "not one of YOUR goals". This isn't YOUR topic and I DO appreciate your (and Acheron's) contributions. However, you stated that "LAYOUT.INF cannot be modified as it was digitally signed" which (IMHO) isn't -necessarily- true, and -could be- one of the OP's "goals". Shall we all play nice and not distort what I had said by -assuming- "hidden agendas"?
-
(*cough*) XP (*cough*). FYI - I don't use it... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Lync

Nope, sorry... It's a slipstreamer/tweaker only. Your only alternative is to find an "untrammeled" XP at (e.g.) Amazon or eBay. Tablet version is basically an XP Pro (not home) with Tablet Features. If the Key is on that then -potentially- it should install and you just get the correct drivers for it and install the instead. I will -assume- that you "version" is an OEM "image"? "Service Packs slipstreamed" doesn't sound "right" to me - maybe you mean "some hotfixes" along with hardware-specific drivers (since OEM's sometimes do that)? edit - Strange... this lists all of the XP's (along with Win2000) - http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdHome?sp4ts.oid=376812&ac.admitted=1399754921377.876444892.492883150

Yeah, I seen that (Explorer09). Nope, still can't get the link to pull up (ATM). I even started a VM XP and used IE8. Same problem. A thought - maybe AT&T is buggering me on that? See Post #1531 - http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/140336-the-file-checker-hfslipfc-for-hfslip/page-62 edit -ummm. NOPE! Also used OpenDNS -and- cleared DNSCache -and- did a "ping" on it - gave back the IP (http://78.129.205.42/) -but- the "ping" fails (timeout)! This - http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com consistently says it's "up", but... Timeout is EXACTLY what I get in FF -and- IE8. Guess I have to face it, there are "random" up and downs. edit2 (sigh...) guess I can try OpenDNS IP's on the Router instead. FYI, my NIC originally indicated DNS of the 2Wire Router. I "appear" to be going through Ameritech (AT&T) just "past" my own External IP since "tracert" gives the same horse-piles... ...AAAAND - did all the correct steps for the Router - HL Domain Name (altervista.org) fails, but EN. and IT. work fine. So does this - http://youtubedownload.altervista.org/ It is DEFINITELY the Website that fails.

Windows Update Downloader vs. Windows Updates
submix8c replied to qbinb's topic in Windows Updates Downloader
WUD downloads ALL of them en-masse, just like UDC for XP (http://xdot.tk/) will. Windows Updates will give you obsolete (superseded) Updates -and- is SLOOOOWWWWW! The intent of WUD/UDC is to create/slipstream a fully-up-to-date Install CD/DVD. Windows Update is strictly to Update a Running OS. (note I reference XP, but there are methods for other-than XP) edit - You may ALSO note that you MAY have to repeatedly go to WU to get ALL of the Updates. Note ALSO that -some- folks prefer to NOT have AutoUpdates on and ALSO to be able to update an OS off-line (not connected to the web). HTH -
Errr... The closest I could find to that is in a Google Cache (ATM) - http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:aRkuO3RoDcYJ:http://mimo.zxq.net/yellow/extras.htm%2Bhfslip+%22multiboot%22&as_nlo&as_nhi&lr&cr&safe=offactive&hl=en&&ct=clnk I can't really tell you beyond that. Your assumption is incorrect. For a Multiboot CD (multiple versions of XP) you need several more files Hex-Edited. AND a fron-end to allow selecting any given one. These are called AIO's (ICYMI) containing (e.g.) BOTH (or more) XP Home -and- XP Pro. IOW, you have misunderstood what MultiBoot means. I -could- assume that means one -may- be intending to put an XP Install on a CD along -with- (e.g.) some Utilities (booting to e.g. MemTest Image). Unless you can tell us -which- "thing" you want to do with that "extra" I'm afraid there can be no help. AHA! Here is a screen shot - Yep, it's that "AIO" thingy... http://www.softpedia.com/progScreenshots/HFSLIP-Screenshot-54411.html Now look back at the links jaclaz gave.
