Well, I really don't know... HOW did you ADD the "driver". Most likely, you used a "SETUP" Program which REQUIRED the Module indicated. Add THAT before the ATI Driver (however you magically added it).

(sigh...) MSDCTX86.EXE <-a carryover from Win95 (used to be on MS Website) I have yet to find the MS Speech Suite 3.0 (as a package) <-a carryover from Win95 (used to be on MS Website) I have found the "missing" Program I gave a Link to the "more than likely" Original CD Source (at least the photo). The "setup" program is just a variation of the CD-version. edit - I did find Speech Suite 4.0 (these are SDK's, BTW) edit - MS Agent 2.0 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21167 edit - v5.1 SDK http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=10121 Get (if you can) the Speech Software portions free (links inside) - http://discuss.pcmag.com/forums/thread/220581002.aspx I have also found them in a ZIP (speechsystem.zip). It's widely known that MS "charged" for the Book/CD while simultaneously "giving away" (most) of it anyway. I'm betting that the XP "add-in" Text-To-Speech will work on 98SE (if not, probably with KEX). edit - See above... v5.1 is compatible w/Win98 http://research.microsoft.com/stg/ The above link is... HISTORY!!!! However, http://web.archive.org/web/19980512221813/http://research.microsoft.com/stg/ Why is this so important to you? All this proves is that you have the Purchased CD and Book, which includes 1 additional Program and 2 additional Apps (which were STILL freely available). It has no bearing on the (still) availability of what's on the FTP for those that DID NOT purchase/acquire the CD.

Impossible! "Lite" and "Just Driver"? You must have done something else (or you have a bogus image) because that's a Visual Studio 2010 RunTime module.Go to MS, download this and install it. ??? The link isn't showing... Copy this and paste into Browser Address Bar www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8328

"Search Companion"??? BWAHAHAHAH! Let's take a poll on that one - "How many people use it" Right away... GoooByeee!!!!

Googled - intel inf "sp folder" (221 results) http://www.google.com/search?q=intel+inf+%22sp+folder%22&hl=en Google gave this on MSFN. That is the best answer I can give. I focused on the question which I indicated was irrelevant. You did not do your homework if I found the answer in a matter of minutes. Please focus instead on your project with accurate answers (and links) given. Also please stick to a single thread. It's not easy bouncing. edit - ICH5xxxx is not even pertaining to your Laptop... irrelevant. edit2 (from README.TXT)

? Apparently SOMEONE is having a problem with Zune. "App" is such a lovely word! Reminds me of FishVille on FaceBook... "Cloud"? Isn't that a fancy word for "someone else' server somewhere out there"? Another thread indicates that 5% of us will stick with nothing higher than Win7/Server2k8 until Win8 is "skipped". Leave this stuff to the 95% of the masses ("I just got a new iPeed! Isn't it pretty?"). How's that up/down speed to the nearby tower vs direct hookup? Sorry, I had to chime in since this Win8 subject is revealing some bad vibes. Rather than clutter the other Topics, I'm editing this post - http://phys.org/news/2012-03-windows-big-misstep-microsoft.html A pretty recent review. Seems like if you can drive a small car well, you could probably easily learn to drive a semi. Not so transitioning to Win8 - More like you can drive a car but now have to learn from scratch how to fly a jet...

I answered the question AFAICT. You tell ME what was in Intel's minds... My clairvoyance button is currently broken. Reread previous post (I hi-lited a portion). Go with it!!!!!

apparently not obvious to everybody as at least one wrong answer was given.. BWAHAHAH!!! In fact, no WINNT.SIF will appear, along with your expanded explanation..."It all depends on what your definition of IS is...". Oh, well, I've been having a bad year. I just got a good laugh!!! @WildRicer - Proceed, test it in a VPC/VM and note the results. No drivers needed for VPC, but you may integrate anyhow as they will simply be ignored. Learn by doing. We'll assist where necessary if you get "hung up".

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc805581 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc768203 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc767068.aspx Looks suspiciously similar to me. http://www.amazon.com/Windows-Resource-Kit-Microsoft-Press/dp/1572316446 Publication Date: January 1, 1998 | Series: Resource Kit Highest dated (relevant) file is WIN98RK.CHM, which is a Guide to the Utilities on it (if you don't count the WIN98TMC.DLL). Immediately preceding (relevant) date is 04/30/1998, implying that it MIGHT have directly come from an MSDN April 1998 Release. The FTP download is nearly identical to the Win98 (FE!) Resource kit, which lacks many files/folders (see attached). edit - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resource_Kit Notice that the 98FE CD I have has only a subset (the "sample" indicated). If I have to keep attaching things, I'll have to eventually start deleting some... In my opinion, it has transmogrified. The link Removed was obviously to the MSDN and/or the Original CD. The "origins" seems like a rather pointless exercise. It APPEARS to be an "original" (based on what I just demonstrated).edit - you'd better look back at post #21 - BANNED! FYI - The "fix" you found appears to already be incorporated. More info here - http://www.betaarchive.com/wiki/index.php?title=Microsoft%3AMSDN_Discs http://www.betaarchive.com/wiki/index.php?title=File%3AMSDN_June_1998_Disc_15.jpg I have the original PLUS!98 and am willing to BET that on the FTP site, the RK is, indeed COMPLETE! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Plus!#Microsoft_Plus.21_98 Many (if not ALL) Plus!98 files are also on the FTP site (if you know what to look for). Best Web Browser(s) for Windows XP in 2012
submix8c replied to helpdesk98's topic in The Poll Center
You do know you can "block" them both don't you? -
Skipping around between two different Topics - answer given on OTHER topic.

Here is you Laptop. ...and here is your documentation. The SP folder contents appear to be identical to the root folder contents (e.g. ICH5IDE.INF = ICH5ID2.INF). You just need the 945GM.INF.BTW, the INF fileset that was provided to the Original Poster (by Ponch) is even newer than that and fits your Laptop as well (same filename as I just gave you). Might I suggest you get your documentation to assist in obtaining the rest of your drivers? I also suggest you get the necessary Software from Dell as well (if needed). Come back and ask for help if you need it, but please do a little work yourself first. We assist here, not hand things on a silver platter. (Not trying to be a smart-a$$, just stating fact - we get annoyed when folks don't put any effort into their own project).

First of all, "WHO" is "herman"??? (there is no such member) Second of all, there's a setting somewhere in profile (don't remember where) that "turns off" Notifications. Not sure if it's Global or not, BUT if you "Watch This Topic" there's definitely a place to set how you want to be notified or not at all. Last, those "links" are pointing to THIS Topic's Last Post (look at the link address, my friend)... @Ponch - I guess that was a facetious response due to the fact that it was, well, obvious...note - as for the browser "failure", something seems a bit strange there....
-
Well, this Topic has gone WAYYYY off-topic. It has now become about "What version of X allows for an exact replicate of a Website or Website Folder for the potential purpose of forensic analysis using MS' FTP site as an experimental source, particularly when using X on Windows 98"... Is that an accurate assessment? BTW, I am so happy that you are finally happy...
-
1 - YES. 2 - Have no clue - you never gave a link to where you downloaded it. 3 - I responded to you in the OTHER topic (ref. answer #1 as well). (please note that you NEVER said what the PC Model is - see other topic) "What route do I take to get to Hong Kong from Point A?" "I don't know, where is Point A located?"
-
And I told you (as did another poster) to LOOK AROUND! I even gave a link our two to get you started. You will HAVE to use the Office Customer Package from Microsoft. WE DO NOT HAVE IT! You must first use MS software THEN "integrate" it in RunOnceGUI.We can't just HAND it to you! "The Gods help those that help themselves". After that, we can then help you with PROBLEMS you may encounter.
-
BWAHAHAHAH!!!! You need dotNET Runtime installed BEFORE running the Install App, I betcha!!!! Notice that that tiny little detail (the quote) was what you neglected to tell anyone.XP does NOT install dotNet "by default", but... Win7 DOES!!!!

Not unattended? (No WINNT.SIF, for one...)Just like several others as of late, don't go into "OVERKILL" with nLite. Just do Service Pack (if needed), Drivers, and Create ISO to start with (keeps it CLEAN). AFTER that, do any other HotFixes, Add-Ons, Unattended, Tweaks, etc AFTER you get your feet wet. Remember, anything BEYOND just Service Pack WILL cause the ISO to be nLited and you can't use it to re-nLite (must start from "scratch").
-
BWAHAHAH!!! As a former non-US-born employer of my step-son use to say... "HAHAHAH! You so funny! You make me raff!" Thx... I needed that.
-
1 - Yes, you can "delete" those, BUT, to do a "Repair Install" you MAY need the UPG folder. There SHOULD be an additional "DOTNETFX" folder. Why you may want to go this extreme I'm not sure. Integrating SP2 (directly) will NOT increase the Image beyond fitting on a CD. I suggested creating a "JUST LIKE AN SP3 PRE-INTEGRATED" for the purpose of NOT repeating the WHOLE PROCESS in case of Integrating HotFixes and Drivers AND "tweaks" LATER. Basically, "simulating" having a "PRE-INTEGRATED"! 1a - "Almost" PreIntegrated (using nLite or Manual - preferably nLite) 1b - Repeat nLite using 1a doing whatever your heart desires. 2 - The EXACT "INF" depends on your Dell PC Model - you never said what it was. Each INF is for a different ChipSet. YES the ChipSet First. 3 - Try using the "Edit" button on your posts. Please don't Create Another Post One Behind The Other! You'll still get noticed. Only Create a NEW post when following ANOTHER poster's post. 4 - You CAN "Integrate" (AFAIK) just Drivers into your Dell OEM MCE2005. Just don't attempt to Integrate SP3, Hotfixes, etc. JUST the Drivers. Otherwise, you can do what you want to with the Pro Retail (non-MCE2005) but it WON'T be pre-Activated (that's an OEM/Volume License thing).

(sigh..) ONE... MORE... TIME!!!! What is the INSISTENCE with using the BAD folder name?? You WILL get... ERRORS!!!!!@PROBLEMCHYLD (for the record) Go back and note the the ScreenShot "proofs" I had previously provided. The problem with Windows Explorer method is it is... SLOOOOOWWW!!!! (I had already said that was how I did it.) I repeat... FG1.73 (the LAST good version, that Multibooter found on the WayBack) is ABSOLUTELY GOOD!!! I REFUSE to repeat this "test" to prove it... AGAIN! Apparently, GetRight (as Charlotte so aptly pointed out) does a GRAND job of even correcting the "dual folder Up vs low case" glitch. BeyondCompare OBVIOUSLY has a BUG! I had already SAID that! And to CONFIRM the correct set after download, GET Karen's DirPrt, RUN it, EDIT OUT the list I gave and YOUR run (the ROOT folder names), and do a File Contents Compare - if they match, YOU ARE DONE!!!!! JEEZ, this is getting..... RIDICULOUS! Use what has been PROVEN to "work" and quit screwing around! BC is BROKEN for your immediate purpose!!!! FG (and maybe GetRight, and PROBABLY as LoneCrusader's FileZilla) are NOT!!!!! How many people have to PROVE the FileCount/Hashes to get the point across? (thx, rloew and LoneCrusader for further confirmation) COOK THE HORSE ON A SPIT - IT'S DEAD - LET'S EAT!!!! Note on RK98book.chm/chi set - As noted, the ONLY advantage is the "hook" into the CHI (Compiled Help Index). Otherwise, You are GOLD! (YES, I said I have it...). As the "exercise/diet queen" Susan Powter once said "STOP THE INSANITY!!!!!"

Comment to "the other guy"... they had an ADDITIONAL two, indicating that they were attempting to double-nLite - NO-NO!!! ...and YES they can be removed (they are a copy of what's in your nLite folder). SQ.TXT? That APPEARS to be a Dell w/SP2 OEM CD/DVD. Am I to assume you have a Dell PC? (You may be getting on shaky ground... that CD/DVD should have come with the PC). One might HOPE that Dell didn't "fool around" with it. If they ALREADY EXIST it has ALREADY been nLited, so NO you CANNOT "double-nLite" it. REREAD the comments given to the other chap!!!! It MUST be an UNTOUCHED (i.e. NOT nLited) XP!!! PERIOD! An UNTOUCHED OEM is ALSO "usually" alright... NEVER "double-nLite" NONONONONO!!!!! (if it has ALREADY been nLited, you MAY be using WAREZ, like the OTHER guy attempted).See this and this (re SQ.TXT). DEFINITELY a Dell Recovery CD (however I have a Dell OEM SP3 and it also does not). That file is irrelevant. Enough! You have your answers. I will answer no more! If your PC is a Dell, then you SHOULD have the CD's that came with it... UNTOUCHED, USE them and be happy...

Just Win98? Agreed - "Need Input" (full specs)...
