how is this possible? your screenshot shows that you have 103 posts, yet you have 103 posts....you would have had to have 103 posts at the time you took the screenshot...this does not make sense to me!

Now this post proves you did not read my comment above. Let me repeat it:

POSTS IN THIS FORUM DO NOT COUNT TOWARDS YOUR TOTAL POST COUNT!!!

    thats true too

  5. There are three engineers in a car; an electrical engineer, a chemical engineer and a Microsoft engineer. Suddenly the car just stops by the side of the road, and the three engineers look at each other wondering what could be wrong.

The electrical engineer suggests stripping down the electronics of the car and trying to trace where a fault might have occurred. The chemical engineer, not knowing much about cars, suggests that maybe the fuel is becoming emulsified and getting blocked somewhere.

Then, the Microsoft engineer, not knowing much about anything, comes up with a suggestion, 'Why don't we close all the windows, get out, get back in, open the windows again, and maybe it'll work !?'

heard it a million times but its still funny

There was an engineer, manager, and a programmer driving down a steep mountain road. The brakes failed and the truck careened down the road out of control. Horn blaring, and screaming out the windows for other cars to clear the way, they barreled around the hillside, picking up speed. Half way down the programmer gives up pumping the brakes, and aims the vehicle toward a heavy gravel bed near the shoulder. They plow through the gravel, then contact the guardrail to bring the vehicle to a grinding halt, inches from an overhanging cliff.

They all got out, shaken by their narrow escape from death, and brushed the dust off their ashen faces.

First to regain composure, the manager stammers, "We've got a serious problem. Let's organize a Tiger Team to fully investigate the mishap, and bring their conclusions to a steering committee, so our R&D division can get to work on a solution."

The engineer said, "No that would take too long, besides that method never worked before. By that time, I can overhaul the brake cylinders and bleed the lines, and give it a steam pressurized backup. All I need are my Swiss Army Knife, that roll of duct tape, and some spare parts from your espresso machine."

"Guys, guys, guys!", moaned the weary software engineer. "We're running out of daylight here. Now who's going to help me push this thing back up the hill and duplicate the problem?"

start a new topic, dont add a joke into a other joke

is it possible you have your windows critical restart thing set to restart after a certin ammount of time, try setting it to never restart!

oh and has anyone thought to try system restore?

Wolf7448, it is fixed. It is being balanced by Harry Potter. And I don't have the money for a new computer. God knows I want one, though.

thats good its fixed! happy computeing!

  8. After reading this forum about the usbehci.sys corrupted error message i took on the challenge to call Dell and tell them i would either like them to replace my CD with one the has SP2 or give me a resolution that i can slipstream my CD that i paid for thinking there are no problems.

I sent them 6 emails - there promise was to reply within 24 hours - guess what i never got a reply. I went to the US website who had a 6 hour response. I received a reply which was my same mail i sent them. 1 week later i still have not received a reply.

I finally decided to call these idiots and straight away they tell me - this can not be done. I asked "why not" they tell me as long as i can install my operating system then there is no problem. The options given were to either buy a CD AGAIN or just install over again which will take me 2 days as the CD i have is very old.

I explained and said that if i knew you had given me a CD that would not slipstream and was made clear about this i could have left buying from Dell and buy from someone/ place who are more reliable - they went on and on about the same options they gave me as if they are a tape recorder. I asked for a resoltion or them to tell me what files i should modify and how to resolve this - no, they wouldnt tell me either.

Myself personally am not going to buy anything from Dell, it will be from IBM or i will build a machine myself. So just to know how many fans we have out there supporting Dell,

    A - Is Dells's customer service crap?

B - Would you buy from Dell knowing this has happened?

You kno every once and a while i come accross people like you,

You should have called them first (they answer prompty) and asked if that could be done!

And it not dells fault that that cant be done!!! your just trying to place blame!

And dell always askes you u rate there service and if u had a problem with there coustomer service u should have told them!

And dell has been EXCELLENT to me!

    so to answer your questions

A} NO it is nothing near ''crap" as you put it, It is EXCELLENT

B} Of course i would buy from dell (there prices are right and the quality is excellent, PLUS - there is no reason to stop buying dell products because dell cant do something that is impossible to do)

  9. My printer is already installed and working. But everytime i restart my computer the new hardware wizard pops up asking me to install the drivers, if i dont and press cancel the printer still works fine. Its annoying and i wish it to stop, any suggestions on how to disablet the automatic hardware wizard.

Title Edited - Please follow new posting rules from now on.

  11. "Centrino" is a brand name that incorporates the use of specific hardware. Namely a Pentium M CPU along with the use of certain chipsets and certain wireless network cards. The specific combinations of hardware are "Centrino certified" to get the best mix of performance, mobility, battery life, and connectivity.

A Centrino setup can be used for gaming if it's paired with a decent video card. I'm typing this on a Centrino based laptop right now with a 1.86GHz/2MB Cache Pentium M and 2x512MB DDR2-533. This laptop just has the i915G graphics controller but a better video card would certainly have me playing some of the newer games on the market.

As for the wireless from city to city, that all depends on what sort of WiFi they have setup and what you pay to access it. Some of the mobile phone companies such as Verizon offer mobile broadband but I haven't tried any of them so I don't know how reliable or fast they are. There are coming technologies, such as WiMax, that are aimed at bringing wireless broadband into areas that are currently limited to dialup connectivity...they may also address the "always connected" issue.

    More about Centrino here:

    http://www.intel.com/centrino/

    thank you,

so it really doesnt use your own connection it uses "hotspots" connection or a WiFi Connection, that is somewhat surrounding the area?
