    Whats the difference between apple and brick

    Ones good for cooking the others good for making homes. Both are good for what they are used for but some arsehole will always favour one over the other. I hate the ethos of saying blindly xyz is better than abc. Sorry if this offends but you will get over it with age.

    The best reply to your question is that Windows was written for the mass home market, linux wasnt.

    - Three out of three large corporations (Philips, Atos & EDS) ive worked with banned linux from the network via its security police.

    - Both Linux and XP can be tweaked and bloated or cut down to a core.

    - For a usable (as you know it) home system on a P2 455 - Gentoo used 120Mb, WinXP 190mb.

    - From experience both systems update as much as each other but linux will normally be updated quicker.

    [Question] - User accounts in windows xp sp2

    Hey u all. I was on a routine check of my windows when i opened user accounts from control panel to find this new account with some strange name, I even searched the documents and settings folders for the files of that user but there was nothing so I just deleted the account. The thing which surprised me was that I have antivirus and antispyware also so how did this happen??

    I can relate i got that too one day. I also had antivirus and sypware software installed, and it was a really weird name almost like a email address or something! What picture did windows give it?

    IE7 is very easy to get and there is really NOTHING wrong with it, the only problem i had is when i added the shaw toolbar and thats its fault! and if u want to get it, google search IE7 Download, here look i even did it for you, just cuz i'm such a nice guy :thumbupIE7 Download Google Search

    [Help] - removing microsoft onecare

    i searched and searched but couldnt find a way to properly remove it. so i just stop and disabled the services, removed registry keys, and then deleted all the files from it i could find. this was a big mistake.

    it seems the firewall took over, and now things such as my ftp server no longer work. the standard windows xp sp2 firewall is now greyed out with the screen that has options to turn it on or off.

    the advanced settings seem correct though, the programs i want to bypass the firewall are in the exceptions list but they just dont work.

    does anyone have any clue on how i could take control over my system without reinstalling windows?

    Well, I'll finally tell you. The best AV on the market is SOPHOS.

    Yep, it's expensive. Only companies buy it. But it has it all... fast, small, efficient, well designed, easy to deploy and maintain, new definitions every time they are needed, etc.

    Dont most companies use faronics deep freeze (more on that here) i kno i said i use windows one care beta but if it wasent for you having to partision the drive i would think most people would agree faronics deep freeze would be the best. Theres no updateing needed, you just set it and forget it, it protects agenst... everything!, viruses, spyware, mailware, hackers, even protects your windows regestry. The word protects isnt the right word, what it does when you restart your computer it restores all the settings right down to the last bite.

    Another one made by faronics is anti excutable but i dont think it works as well as they say (more on that here)

    Hey guyes,

    I have IE 7 and i like to use the windows live safty scan but it only lets u use ie6 but i dont want to give up the tabed browsing feature in ie7! So i was wondering if there was a patch or something that would help me?

    Firefox error message

    Hey guyes,

    When i go to start firefox it says "no binding for browser" and it doesnt start, and yes i have reinstalled it and no that did not work and yes i have done a virus scan and no it has not worked and i even went into C: program files and deleted the firefox folder but still, "no binding for browser". once i reinstalled it, so i was hopeing u guyes might know.
