1. Hey all!

I seem to have a problem with an unattended copy of Windows XP SP2 GOLD (Longhorn). The dude said that I needed to replace the nlite.in_ if I wanted to have different accounts, rather than it just logging automatically into the Administrator Account, but even after I replace it onto the ISO before burning it off. I install Windows, but it still logs into the Administrator Account!!! :realmad:

CAN ANYBODY PLEASE HELP ME?? I've been googling mad for hours, and it led me to this forum which I hope can help me!! :(

    Thanks HEAPS! :D

    -drag0n :)

    i dont understand the question

  2. Hi,

Can anyone tell me if you can (and if so how) to change the 'This page cannot be displayed error message' in Internet Explorer. I can find instructions on how to add a customised 404 error message page to a web server but not how to change the local page in IE. Basically, situation is remote offices trying to access our corporate systems, fairly often experience DSL connection problems due to a fault on their router. When the connection is down, it would be great if the user could then be presented with a customised page showing them the best checks to complete to regain connection themselves.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

rte_dots.gifFirst off, its simple, just get internet explorer to show it and copy what you see in the address bar into windows explorer and modify the file

Seccond off, this has nothing to do with Windows NT4/2000/2003 and should be moved to the Software hangoutrte_dots.gif

  3. I have heard that Vista is behind schedule and still very early in the beta stage. Yet, everyone is talking about it being released by the Fall of 2006. If it is really early in the beta stage, do you really think it will make it out to final release in a year or less from now?

Or do you think sometime in 2007 will be a more realistic estimated time when it is released?

Is there any scheduled date yet on the release of Vista? Or is it all just speculation and hype?

    yes, november - december 2005

  4. It really depends on what ther person is useing it for.

    u kno...

    Xp Home for home users

    Xp Pro for businesses/many users

Windows Server for people who use a server

Media for the extreem TV/Video watches

and Windows Xp Pro 64bit Edition for geeks  Just kidding of course! cuz i'm a geek too :D

  5. i'm not a moderator but it says in the rules, not to use names for topics like that...

    12. Very often we see meaningless subjects in topic title. They give no clue of what the posts are all about. For example:

    - Oh no!

    - Help

    - I'm mad

    - Please help

    - Question

    - I need your help

    - Hmmmm ....

This should be avoided. Users should enter something more specific in topic title so that it is easier for others to help.

    A few good examples:

    - Strange problem with DirectX9b redist

    - RunOnceEx install problem (double installation)

    - Change Internet Explorer's Icon back to default

  6. With Win. XP at System Information [Run > winmsd], System Summary, should there be an entry "System Up Time:"?

I've just read a post at another site which wonders why the entry reads "System Up Time: N/A", and what the remedy is.

On my system - XP Pro SP2 - there isn't a "System Up Time:" entry at all.

I hope someone can shed light on this matter.

  7. I have a friend who I am attempting to convert from AOL, however he loves (I don't know why) their email setup, there is one feature that he cannot live without... He loves that after an email has been read and his inbox is closed the emails move to a different folder. Does anyone know of any pop3 clients that do this, perhaps an extension to Mozilla Thunderbird or Outlook 2003?

sry buddy, i dont, hes going to hav to adjust

  8. Windows xp home pc, last format 10 months ago.

I am having problems logging off of my computer lately. When i select log off, sometimes it does it, other it just sits there and does nothing. i can log out if i run a program and have force applications to close selected. is there a way i can find out what is causing this to happen?

Programs can choose to stop a shutdown, logoff, or standby, now if u want to force a shutdown/logoff (and show your computer whoes boss  ) Hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete and go ahead and under the "shutdown" menu choose ither, shutdown, logoff, standby, etc.

    hope that helps

  9. what is the basic function of the motherboard anyway?

    :o

The main circuit board of a microcomputer. The motherboard contains the connectors for attaching additional boards. Typically, the motherboard contains the CPU, BIOS, memory, mass storage interfaces, serial and parallel ports, expansion slots, and all the controllers required to control standard peripheral devices, such as the display screen, keyboard, and disk drive. Collectively, all these chips that reside on the motherboard are known as the motherboard's chipset...
The "heart" of your PC -- it handles system resources (IRQ lines, DMA channels, I/O locations), as well as core components like the CPU, and all system memory. It accepts expansion devices such as sound and network cards, and modems.

oh, i knew that, haveing a blond moment  , sry

  10. It's a salt shacker, and the stars come out of it

Man. Xpero how come a salt shacker comes into the scene. Cant it be left out.

i Also wish we do away with the golden colour and the Jazzy colours. How about a simple blue screen White colour XP and silver coloured IZE.

We can have a little glow in the blue background and sparklish silver colour. Can anyone Make something on these lines.?

I really cant paint a picture of what ur asking in my head, a little more direction would be nice!

  11.
Just use one. Type it in 5 times and you've got it mastered. Don't use a word. Use a combination of letters and numbers. Does XP support symbols in passwords? I know how to get unbreakable passwords. Check this out. I have one of the letters-numbers-symbols 63-character written down in my notepad. It took me 2 minutes to write it, lol. It'll be my master password for when I use Hamachi in conjunction with my future network.
i believe the experts say if you repete something 10 times it kind of locks it into your long term memmory (food for thought is all :blushing: )

  12. Ok, ok, fair game. Well, it's been established that not many people like Dell. How about we have people specify the brands/manufacturers of the various parts in their PCs?

I have AMD, Antec, BenQ, OCZ, DFI, and Nvidia.

    sounds good
