    I use Speedfan to control the speed. Under options->Fan control select "advanced fan control", add a new fan and change the temperature curve.

    is it faster now? @ albert1234 I have no idea, I never used the eventlog to measure the time. I only trust xbootmgr.

    you can try to edit the JS, HTML, XAML files of the apps under C:\Program Files\WindowsApps. But I have no idea if the apps still work after doing this.

    I'm using Afterburner with a PowerColor Radeon HD 5770 and it works fine. Does it also work for you?

    resume is fast (1s), but initializing the BIOS is slow (35s): biosinit="35204000" resume="1025000"> Look for a BIOS Update and load the default settings.

    Run this: xperf -on latency -stackwalk profile -buffersize 1024 and increase the value for buffersize if you still get lost events/buffers.

    I use StartIsBack and I get a blurred taskbar. @ CKyHC I haven't done anything special. Maybe it is still there but I don't notice it.

    connect it back to the old controller and run the xperf commands and give me the ETL file.

    use ProcessExplorer and use the "Find Window" icon in the toolbar, drag the cross hairs on the messagebox and you see that it comes from csrss.exe.

    ok, But I already have symbol sever configured. Can you get the matching PDB from the symbol cache folder?

    this looks like HDD/SD issues. Which AHCI driver do you use?

    ok, after some tries it finally works on my laptop. And it also works for 32Bit now fine: It is so great. Performance is good (the delay before the Windows got the glass is gone). I'm so happy btw, why does my crash.log never shows the correct callstack? What are the requirements?

    thanks for beta2, but it doesn't work for me. I only get artefacts: I'm now back to 0.7 with D2D Mode which works perfect. I'll try the 0.8 in a VM later this day.

    yes, I refer to the Geforce. Remove the card and only use the internal GPU. Are the issues gone?

    ok, I found the cause. I need to set the option "Load Legacy Option ROM" to true. Now I still use UEFI but with the old VGA Video BIOS. The disadvantage is a bit slower boot/Resume from hibneration and the loss of the Dell Logo during boot, but I can boot both Windows versions.

    Win8 also has code to supressStartScreen, but only Servers allow it. I think this applies, too for 8.1/Blue.

    why do you want to go back to XP? XP is dead. Do you still have issues after updating the nvidia driver or not?

    in this case you have to live with the slow boot.

    try to install the 32Bit Enterprise Eval version in a VM and try to debug it there.
