  1. you have copied the wrong WIMGAPI.dll to your vLite folder. You need the x86 DLL
  2. At least they could make all those extra's optional again, like was the case up to Windows 2000. because it won't make a diffence with speed. The files would be still located inside WinSxS folder. When you install a function they will only me mapped to the destination folders as hardlinks. So it#s better to have an OS which can handles all functions. If you need less function use vLite
  3. Why should they do this? Vista is a OS for millions of users who know how to start a PC, write some mails and surf the www. They need the included tools and don't care about other tools
  4. no, read the rule at the top of the forum!
  5. sorry I overlooked this
  6. he wants to see more information when copying files and not to enable this silly quite mode for UAC
  7. we know this: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...amp;hl=KB955020 skip the fix!
  8. in Windows 7 they are not! the WIM Filter driver and the WIMGAPI.dll are included in Windows 7. Also a new tools which combine the Package Manager, IntlConfg and PEImg into 1 tool is now included in Windows 7.
  9. so the best is to remove all drivers, but keep the HP drivers.
  10. we already talked about this last year. It is better to build a new ISO and skip this fix and hide it from WindowsUpdate.
  11. yeah, some programs are moved Live-Suite and are no longer included inside Windows like WinMail, MovieMaker
  12. that's because of the updated boot.wim, so the BSOD won't happen again. great that it works now. have fun
  13. read this: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=127712
  14. I don't know, try both.
  15. WindowsUpdate is no joke, SP1 sliptreaming is not supported by MS so if you have issues use an offical Sp1 integrated ISO from MS. What have you removed with vLIte?
  16. nice guide, but mark UAC as "Unsafe", because if you remove UAC and try to set it on, your Vista will be killed.
  17. why do you want 2 vista versions if you can have 1 with 2 languages?
  18. it is better to use vLite to create the ISO.
  19. because some fixes apply to WinPE, which is not being updates when you use vLite, MS doesn't offer the slipstreaming option inside the Sp1. vLite uses an unofficial hack to integrate the Sp1, so don't hassle MS about this. I'm sure you can find a Sp1 ISO somewhere inside the www To update the boot.wim, mount it with imagex, run the pkgmgr.exe to integrate the hotfix into the mounted folder and commit and unmount the WIM again. For more details about this see the WAIK documentation.
  20. no, you didn't remove a component. At the end, please choose Rebuild to make the WIM smaller.
  21. please post your "Last Session.ini" so that we can see what you have removed
  22. sounds like you are missing a C++ runtime. Have you installed VC 2005/2008 runtime? Please check the event log for more information.
  23. you can use the English Vista and integrate the French MUI package into it. When you install Vista you can choose the language you want to install.
  24. this update must be applied to the boot.wim. There are several fixes for the WinPE environment which are included in Sp1. The Version of the WinPE inside Sp1 is now 2.1 because of the updates. Ask a friend who has access to MSDN or Technet subscriptions to get an updated ISO with an integrated Sp1. And don't aks for the ISO here or you'll be warned or banned, sorry.
  25. could you please post the error message in detail?
