  1. Right now I don't know an update which will increase the WinSxS folder in such a way like the update KB955020 did.
  2. You're using a x86 Windows Vista. vLite 1.2 has a bug to detect the WAIK under x86 Windows. Go to the the waik folder and copy the x86 WIMGAPI.dll to your vLite installation folder.
  3. 6000 is the build number for Vista RTM, so all 6000.16xxx or 6000.20xxx files are updates for Vista RTM. The 6001.18xxx and 6001.22xxx files are the updates files for Vista Sp1. To remove the files, uninstall the update KB955020 from Programs->Installed Updates and block it on WindowsUpdate (select hide this update)
  4. the 6000 are the RTM update files. They come from the update KB955020. I've left this update and blocked that update from WU
  5. this is a bug under x86 Windows. vLite doesn't copy the dll to the vLite folder
  6. the WIM Filter driver sometimes causes BSODs when some Antivirus tools are installed. The only workaround is to uninstall them
  7. aswsp.sys is part of Avast AV. Uninstall it before using vLite
  8. keep the PID.txt and the OEM certificate. With this files Vista automatically activates itself on your OEM Hardware.
  9. Happy Birthday
  10. No! Only run the update if you have issue with the CBS
  11. you don't need to integrate that update. This is update is only needed if you have CBS issues which prevent installing updates. If you don't have any issue skip this update
  12. thanks so much for the new version
  13. it could be the ntfs.sys BSOD caused by the WIM Filter driver. Uninstall any AntiVirus / Firewall tools and try it again.
  14. read this topic here and read what Ronnie posted: http://forums.microsoft.com/technet/showpo...;postid=1173190
  15. yes they are still present inside the WinSxS folder. If you do not need some features use vLite to completely remove them from your new DVD. Now reinstall Vista with the new DVD and the features are gone
  16. Betas will be out on connect.microsoft.com if you were invited to the beta test by MS. The PDC08 is from October 27-30, 2008 in Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles The Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHEC) will also be at the Los Angeles Convention Center, Los Angeles, California. November 4-6, 2008
  17. liek hannubys already said, you must rebuild the image. This is also shown as a help text in vLite
  18. could you please post the error code?
  19. you don't need DualCore CPU for Vista. You only need a fast hdd, 2 GB RAM and a Dx9 card for Aero Glass and Vista runs smooth
  20. go to PDC08 or WinHEC Perhaps it will be posted for Technet / MSDN Subscribers
  21. I'm using Locate32 for a longer time and I like it
  22. copy the 32Bit WIMGAPI.dll from the WAIK folder to your vLite Installation folder
  23. do not deselect it. Select it and click ok to install .net 3.0.
  24. the automatic detection doesn't work correctly under x86 Windows. For x64 Windows it's working fine. So copy the 32Bit (x86) WIMGAPI.Dll into your vLite folder.
  25. read the warning. This is a known issue. The slipstreaming sometimes fails under Windows XP.
