I have a few DVD-Ram discs and I cannot do anything with them. I can't read, write or format them. Is there a component of Vista I may have removed to cause this? Yes, my drive does support DVD-Ram.
Before I have my MCE remote I used a iMon IR Receiver. Media centre is must & infrared support were both removed and the IR receiver worked fine. I guess this is because it came with its own software and drivers.
I tried it with Media Center removed. No go...but I also had Infrared Support remove at the time as well. Could the missing Infrared Support be the reason?
This gets even stranger. There is a folder in the PowerDVD program folder called NavFilter. Under the properties for this folder "index this folder for fast searching" must be checked or PowerDVD will crash whenever I try to play a disc with BD-J. I have both indexing and windows search removed now but as long as I have "index this folder for fast searching" checked in the folder properties I'm good to go.
Darn...so we need to keep the entire Media Center dashboard just to use the remote? Does that mean the remote can't be used with XP, Home Basic or any other distro of Windows without the media center package?
Has anyone experienced problems watching Blu-ray discs with BD-J (Java) menus. I am finding that PowerDVD crashs with no error message or anything. I know its something with my Vlite configuration because I also installed a Non-Vlited setup on the same system and PowerDVD works fine. I tried a few different configuration but still haven't found out which component is causing the problem.
Someone gave me a old Windows Media Center Remote (Link to it - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16880100851 ) and I'd like to use it with PowerDVD and any other appz that I can. Are there any componets in Vista x64 I need to keep so I don't loose the remote functionality. I'm assuming I need to keep Infrared Support and Media Center. Is there anything else?
I Vlited myself a Vista x64 SP1 one disc and set Data Execution Prevention to always off. Is there anyway to set if back to default without making a new disc and reinstalling everything?
