#1 Copy XP CD to a folder named XP on your harddrive that has the most space. #2 Place WPI folder inside this same folder. #3 Configure WPI. #4 Gab one of these 3 downloads: www.wpiw.net/downloads/$OEM$.rar <-- This one goes before the intital logon and uses the Royale theme for the skinning of the runonce sections. www.wpiw.net/downloads/$OEM$-Zune.rar <-- Same as above EXCEPT this one uses the Zune theme. www.wpiw.net/dpwnloads/Post_$OEM$.rar <-- THIS ONE uses an inf to run WPI AFTER initial logon. #5 Unrar your $oem$ archive and place the $oem$ folder inside the XP folder, Beside the i386 and WPI folders. #6 Make the whole danm thing bootable with your app of choice. nLite is recommended...

TweakUI should fix that (It's now in your control panel.) Plus a link to your program you are suggesting would be very helpfull.
-
You can delete one of those disply driver folders. Yeah it looks like you did it right.
-
Virtual what? You can't expect them to install on a virtual machine as it is simulated hardware of a totally different type you just have to have faith in nLite and Drivergrabber.... Open up your i386 dir and look at the folders if you see one that is titled "NLDRV" with severl folders in it that are numbered like 001 002 003 004 and so on. This shows that nLite did indeed add the drivers to the disk. Also when refering to nLite issues please ADD AS AN ATTACHMENT your last session.ini thanks!

WAIT I got it for you here..... This will expand ALL cabbbed files in the archive then DELETE all cabbed files.. WARNING does take a loooooooooong a** time to expand a whole i386 dir. Sorry does not show any progress bar or anything it just does its job. (To use simply place in the same dir as the cabbed files and run, then sit and wait for a minute)

PNG Collection. Here is a small tutorial on how to add an app to WPI! Ok this is a sample (Very simple) configuration for CCleaner (A.K.A Crap Cleaner) This assumes you have all of the WPI files either in the WPI folder at the root of your Windows cd or all of the WPI folders (Common, Graphics, WPIScripts, Tools, Install and Themes) and the file WPI.hta at the root of your cd. Remember this is just the most basic and required entries for a program! #1 Download the app and place it in the WPI\Install Folder. (CCleaner.exe in this example) #2 Run WPI.hta and click on the "Config" button\Icon area. #3 Choose the button at the very top above the config section that says "Add" #4 Enter in the name section "CCleaner" <--No quotes! Then click on any other section of the config area to activate the rest of the wizard. #5 You will notice the Unique ID section gets automatically configured for you. #6 All apps are selected to be installed by default right from the start so if you don't want it selected by default you must uncheck this box. Also you can decide if you want this app to be a "Forced Install" or not. #7 Choose a category for your app to be displayed in. If you want the app to be displayed in a category you don?t see simply chose other and a box will appear that will allow the entry of you choice. #8 In the Command 1 section click on the little folder icon and browse to the WPI\Install folder and select the CCleaner.exe installer, this will place the full path to the installer in the commandline. #9 Add the necessary switches for the program to run silently i.e. "%wpipath%\Install\CCleaner.exe" /s (This can be easily done for most standard apps by simply clicking on the USSF button on the far right of the commandline.) #10 Select the Save and then the Exit buttons and you have now configured your first app!

Kelsenellenelvian replied to TwoJ's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
OK OK Calm down now! As far as I understand it is a file generated by UA windows installs to leave a record of the install process. I have only actually seen it a couple of times and each time i simply deleted it and paid it no futher mind. OH look at that i have one Yup exactly what I said a copy of the winnt.sif file and a record of the install process.
