  1. Please post this "nvrd32.inf" as an attachment. I am willing to bet though that it lists all of the files on disk2, so if it does the all you need to do is place all of the files in the same folder and nLite will pick up on them... (It reads the inf for all needed files and ignores the rest as the inf only calls for the files it needs) After re-reading the provided info all the second disk is is lang files so yeah just put them all into the same folder and run nLite, selecting txtmode when you get asked for it.. The problem with hacking it is you loose WHQL driver signing and that is a bad thing. You'll prolly have to keep all of them.
  2. We put code in to fix this loooong ago. But we also have yet to see a 700 entry setup I did get it to load but it took like 10 minutes! I also tried 6.4 and yes it was quicker.
  3. I would hazard to say: Always use the newest! Even if he has concentrated on SP3 it still has gotten updates for SP2.
  4. Nope, sorry it won't work at all. 1 - When you remove WMP you REMOVE it. That means you can't easily install it back. In some rare, and I mean super rare, cases people have gotten WMP to install on a XP nLited install where they removed WMP. 2 - WMP10 is dead and MS has hardcoded the installer to only work on certain versions of Windows. Vista (Or XP SP3 for that matter) definatly is not in that code. It will completely refuse to install. 3 - Look into alternatives like WMP lite or VLC or even the old Media Player Classic.
  5. Try this out... With this you can run the uninstaller. If that doesn't work you can delete the reg entry with it and then just manually delete the files and the shortcuts...
  6. Very cool thank you crahak!!!
  7. Have you tried using bootvis also to optimize your boot files? It really has shaved loads of time off my startup in XP. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=664 <-- DL here. Now, install and run it. The opening screen is simple, and blank. To start... STEP 1 - Ensure all of the tickboxes on the left are ticked STEP 2 - Click on the Trace menu at the top, and choose Next Boot + Driver Delays STEP 3 - Click OK then the Reboot Now button. When your computer restarts, do not click on anything until BootVis opens and closes (wait around 1 minute). STEP 4 - When it has appeared and gone, re-open BootVis. STEP 5 - Click on the Trace menu at the top again, and choose Optimise System. STEP 6 - Click Reboot Now, and when your computer restarts, do not click on anything until BootVis opens and shows a small window explaining what it's doing. It has finished when the box closes. STEP 7 - Redo step 3 to see your new boottime! All done! Your computer will now bootup (and hopefully shutdown!) quicker.
  8. I would hazard a guess as that it might be your reg files causing it. I use a similiar setup calling the .msi just like that.
  9. Is it overheating? Try this = place some spacers under each of the feet to lift it like a half inch above the surface it is on. My laptop used to overheat all the time after about a hour or so.
  10. DER!!! OK I am being stopid! OK 64 bit huh? Well mritter is runnin more test on 64x so when he gets on next we will see what he has to say..
  11. http://www.petri.co.il/disable_uac_in_windows_vista.htm I suggest method 4. User account control is being a pain in the a** again!
  12. OMFG!!! O_o WTH?!?! 700+ Apps? Wow, simply WOW. I will look into it. What OS are you on?
  13. One answer!! Most likely UAC...
  14. Have you disabled UAC?
  15. Hmm works fine on Vista ultimate...
  16. Everbodys forgetting one major thing in the Foxit fanboyism! The printing support sucks balls!!! Just try printing a 20 page pdf or even one that is made sideways. A total ruin of a decent program...
  17. Buy an external harddrive?? That would be my best advice. Failing that you need to use CDSwitch that is found in the extra tools download. I haven't used it all that much but it does come with a very comprehensive help file.
  18. Because you don't need to use nlite to set it up!!! Gah! Use one of the pre-made packages for running WPI.
  19. Ok tested found to BE GREAT! and uploaded. Nice job. Hey Mritter I have uploaded the newest one please grab it as your changing the others!
  20. HOLY DUMBA$$ BATMAN! You want it to keep the waik component and get shut down? Get real mister. Did you see what happened to Autopatcher? They got shut down and quick once MS took a good look at the fact they were distrubuting MS files and those were ever unmodified! Vlite is always helping us by staying alive and like you said in your barely understandable post Nuhi provided a solution that doesn't take the 1.37 gig download.
  21. Actually I got it to work on 2000 (With a little bit of work) and server 2003.
  22. People don't answer anymore because your posts are very negative or offending. You are missing key other sections like sysoc.inf and dosnet.inf when you are trying to re-add files. Plus there are LOTS of inf files that are edited. You did post a complete list of files that can be deleted pre-install but you never posted what their original purpose is or what is gained\lost by removing them... Also nLite is not just for you! I would dare say over well 100,000 people use it regularly or more. They need those files as they are not as savy as you. Nuhi might know of dire reasons why those files are not removed and purposly left them in. Simply do a standard install of Windows and look at the inf folder. You'll see that most of the inf files in that folder would have to be edited by nLite to remove services. I have found that even though it still leaves some space on your disk you really shouldn't delete ANY service just use the tweaks section to modify them. Speaking of that HEY NUHI! Can we pretty please get some presets for the services? Like an automated Blackvipers settings built into nLite?
  23. mmm+ by hace really f's Vista up.
