You are trying to find info on the asms folder when you want info on the files contained inside...

It's for very important runtimes files that windows HAS to have. You Cannot remove it. You can however compress most of the files in it. nLite can do this.

There is now way to recover that option... It is GONE forever. Unless you go back to sp2 without all of the hotfixes. I can't help you with the unnatended settings.

Did you integrate wmp11 or ie7? They have been known to cause that desktop shortcut bug before.

OK then do this: Open regedit and browse to this key: "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams\Desktop" export it using a registry editor then add it to your inf file and your set, hope this info helps. (Don't forget to set quicklanch enabled first) If you don't know how to convert to an inf just attach the reg file and I will recompile it to you. Hell I will make a addon outta it for you... Yeah sometimes I get kinda obstinate.
