  1. yep, the big secret is the ISO Optimization. You can perform this action not only in CDImage, but with MagicISO, UltraISO, etc.
  2. yep, but there's another way to do this! put a batch file to run and make it reboot the computer (I forgot the command line now, but I can post it here) in 0 or 1 second, so it will reboot and when it starts it will just continue doing the tasks later than the "Reboot task". It works for me...
  3. I got this screen when I cloned my friend partition, with WinXP OEM from Semp Toshiba. When I tried to boot into Virtual PC I got this screen.
  4. I think you should edit the boot.ini file in your C: drive, because this file tells the PC what to do to load the operating system. Take a look, it should look like: [boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect but if you have 2 windows it would differ a little from mine. Try editing this file, but make sure to create a backup!
  5. To begin, I believe you know that it's ILLEGAL to download copyrighted OS from Net, but okay, it's your problem (lol), and the BIG SECRET that you need to know is that you only need to OPTIMIZE the ISO, so you can put 9 CDs (in this case XP CDs) in only 1 CD! (it will save the repeated file only 1 time) To create the DVD you need to prepare these files in one ISO optimized, and then you need to create the boot part (I suggest to use CDShell or BCDW2). There's a guide created by Flyakite (http://flyakite.msfn.org/) that teach you how to do this! okay?? Any problem... tell me
  6. maybe you can do it with another text editor, 'cause in the default DOS text editor (type EDIT and press ENTER) you can't change the font size. I'll do a search and if I find anythin' I'll tell you.
  7. hey don't worry, you only need to Optimize the ISO, so it will write the same file only one time, so you can put many XP CDs in only 1! NO NEED TO HACK/EDIT the setup files!
  8. your problem is "UnattendMode = ProvideDefault" with this you provide the default information, but DON'T AUTOMATE the setup. You need to put "UnattendMode = FullUnattended" to automate 100% the setup. I think it would solve your problem... anyway, I'm here to help.
  9. yep, with nLite you can create a full unattended 2003 CD, it'd install everythin' you need without any click! I created one with Win2K3 Std and it installs Windows, Office, WinRAR..... everything! Take a look at nLite! --> http://nliteos.com/
  10. I think you'll need a DVD and the big secret is to optimize the ISO creation, so it won't write the same file twice, ok???? With this I made a 8in1 XP CD...
  11. if it works on Virtual Machine, what do you still need to do?
  12. hey, maybe you should try WindowBlinds 5, it's great and you'll find A LOT of Vista themes for download. I personally use VistaXP 3.0 but I don't suppose you'll find it easy on the net, but there're a lot of cool themes on the net!
  13. well, I've KillDisk Pro workin' well on my Multi-Boot CD, but I use BCDW2 and the image is bigger than 1,44/1,38MB, but it loads OK using BCDW2. Maybe you'd try using BCDW2 to make a test, it's good and I think it's better than CDShell, but I've used CDShell sometimes. If you want, you can download BCDW2 from http://rapidshare.de/files/24673697/bcdw201a.rar Tell me if this solved your problem! Bye!
  14. maybe you can create a Administrative Installation by running setup /a then you can make an auto-extractor to auto-install it
  15. maybe you can find the CD on-line, but it'd be illegal.
  16. well, if you configure your unnatended setup to autologon as administrator and you set a password, it won't log you until you type the password, maybe this is what you need. I use nLite to configure my XP installs.
  17. hey Seven_Alive, what about the news of energy logons??? I've seen in your devian art that you updated, but what about telling us here at MSFN that? Ok? Thanks, I'm downloading the updated version!
  18. hey, can you tell how did you make your Autorun to create ISO images directly from CD? There's a guy asking this in http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=72488
  19. you need to edit the "logonui.exe" file, in the system32 directory under Windows. There you can change the text "welcome" to whatever you want. I use a Vista-like logon screen (this is what you'll edit). The welcome page is part of the login page (there're two kinds of login pages: the Welcome Screen and the Classic Screen. Ok?! Let me know if this helped you. Just don't forget that Windows would replace your custom logonui.exe if the windows file protection is enabled. Anyway, we're here to help. by The 008
  20. I couldn't install on Windows XP SP2 Portuguese/BR, anyone got?
  21. ah, Ok, now I understood why you wanted to keep the TXTSETUP.SIF original. I didn't know this function in your autorun. I had some problems with my CD 'cause I only changed the TXTSETUP in the boot folder, so when I tried to install from Windows I got Copy errors, so I thought your problem should be the same. Ok, I think your bat file is the soluction, but you may check the WINNT.SIF, 'cause you don't need to use the command-line to select the ANSWER_FILE.TXT if you can only copy the WINNT.SIF to the correct folder. There's a AutoIT script-based tool (I think it's SetupXP) that prepares a Windows Installation from WinPE: it copies the files to the C: (I think it creates the $WIN_NT$ folders) and start the installation. You may take a look at this tool. It's interesting.
  22. oh, ok! I tested using MagicISO to build a multiboot CD and got some problems, so I downloaded CDSHell and BCDW2, 'cause they're better and easy! I recommend you to make a google search and download these two utils, 'cause they're better than MagicISO boot.
  23. No, if you rename your ANSWER_FILE.TXT to WINNT.SIF in the same i386 directory, it would solve your problem. The autorun problem maybe already solved, but I still want to know if you tested installing from winnt32.exe in another Windows OS, 'cause if that old problem still remains, you have ONLY to change a little thing in your TXTSETUP.SIF and you can use directly your winnt32 or boot sector to install Windows, with no problem nor needing to use BAT files. I usually change the TXTSETUP.SIF to point to the correct i386 folder: SetupSourcePath = "\ROOT\XPPC\" >>I'm telling setup to look for an i386 folder inside the %CD%\ROOT\XPPC folder, then I don't need to use any BAT file. And my Answer file is named WINNT.SIF, so I can just click in winnt32.exe and install the windows unattended, or I can boot and it would install unattended too.
