  1. ok, maybe the problem is in your autorun, but have you tried install from this winnt32.exe in windows mode? Maybe you'll find the same problem. Try installing from winnt on windows and tell me if the problem still happens
  2. The TXTSETUP.SIF is part of Microsoft Windows installation CD and is copyrighted, so it's illegal to distribute the content of the CD, including TXTSETUP.SIF. Sorry to be boring.
  3. yeah, a LOT of people tested and got different results using FAT32 and NTFS. I saw a complete description in a site and the result was that FAT32 is faster than NTFS, but NTFS is more secure for file storage. They also recommend to create a third partition in FAT16 to use for Pagefile, 'cause FAT16 is faster than FAT32 and NTFS. These old formats are faster but less secure, so I recommend using both.
  4. maybe your forgot to edit one file (SETUPTXT.SIF) to point to the correct install folder.
  5. I use and recommend to keep your documents in a separate partition (in a separate HD sometimes maybe better) - in NTFS, and Windows and program files in the first (C:) partition / HD, in FAT32, 'cause it's faster than NTFS. So if you have any problem with virus, malwares, etc. you can easily format your C: and reinstall your Windows without lose your documents. I use this way.
  6. You can create a silent install (.mst) using Office Resource Kit (you can use the XP version to prepare a 2003 installation) and use to install Office, but I suggets to apply to the original media and create a silent 7-Zip installer (I did this way and my XP got only 160MB and the 2003 197MB - both Portuguese, full install). Don't forget to create an administrative install (execute "setup.exe /a"). Take a look at MSFN's Unattended Guide for Office XP and MSFN's Unattended Guide for Office 2003.
  7. you can use BCDW2 or CDShell and build a simple or customized menu for your boot cd, then you can use a boot image to run win98 setup and the win2k boot sector to begin the win2k installation.
  8. hi again, I'm back with the same problem. It still happens, I've using "sfc /scannow" a LOT of times and the problem is still there. What can I do????
  9. something similar happened to me, but it stoped at 32min installing network, and I found out that I burned the CD using "Track at once", and when I used "Disc at once" everything got all right. Try it, I hope it helped you.
  10. sorry, but what exatly you want to do? convert from French to English? From Home to Pro?
  11. I use almost the same script, but I use findcd.exe, so my autoexec is like this: :WIN98SE set CDROM=FOO23 FINDCD.EXE if "%CDROM%"=="FOO23" goto NOCDROM path=a:\;%CDROM%\ %CDROM% cd \WIN98SE echo. OEMSETUP.EXE goto QUIT
  12. oh, ok, you're right this is illegal, but I've seen some special things here that I would considerate as illegal, but nothing happens. As I'm not giving any link or asking anyone to download the full program, I don't see problems in sharing one file. Maybe I'm wrong, and I think I'm wrong, but it depends on the people. But ok, I really don't have to ask anything (you think everything is illegal, so I can do nothing) else. Thanks for cooperation... and I think Office XP is easy to use and better than 2K3, by the way...
  13. I tested Office 2K3 but it got some bugs and I had to uninstall, so continued using Office XP. Simple but useful. I downloaded Office 12 but couldn't install because the "osetup.dll" wasn't digitally signed. So I'm still using Office XP until I get a full working version of Office 12, but in the screenshots the interface is GREAT! I really want to test this version, but I'm not a beta tester.
  14. hey guys, just take a look at this pretty girl I found on CDRWXP. This is my actual desktop for February. edit: Thanks Martin L, I uploaded to imageshack and edited my post.
  15. I use mkisofs (it's used by BartPE as well), and I created a XP 8in1, with 4,81GB optimized to 680MB, the it's just burn to a 700MB CD.
  16. didn't work. I used CHKDSK (my C: is NTFS) and the problem continues. What should I do?
  17. but this happens with almost all files after a certain time I'm using the computer, most when I'm on the internet. I'll do scandisk on my C: and will tell the result
  18. Thanks guys I fould and disabled, but I've already disabled (only checked to show critical errors), and when I uncheck that option I got a error "Memory could not be "written". What HELL is this about? What should I do? There's a screenshot with my poor translation
  19. I couldn't find "Error Reporting" in my language (Portuguese). I stopped and disabled the only thing that had "Error" in the name (that would be something like "Error when informing service: Allows to inform errors of services and applications when executed in non-standard environments."), but when I started an application, the problem is still the same. Should I reboot and test?
  20. Thanks! But what service should I disable? and where?
  21. Hello! I'm having some problem with this application. dwwin.exe is located at system32 folder and is used to report errors, but it locks the system with a lot of programs I start. For example, I still couldn't install Incredimail XE Portuguese edition, 'cause it starts and the system gets low and low, and the mouse moves lower than normal, so I open up windows task manager and I see that f***** program running and when I kill the process it closes the other program I'm trying to run. It happens frequently when I'm on the internet, but sometimes it locks every program that I start (ex. WinRAR, IsoBuster....). I really want to solve this problem. Did anyone have this kind of problem? By the way, my sistem is Windows XP SP2 Brazilian Portuguese, 256MB, GeForce4 64MB and a LOT of programs running (Firefox 1.5.0.1, Winamp 5.11 with Modern Skin, Incredimail XE Premium (English version), Windows Live Messenger 8.0 BETA, AVG 7.1 plus Firewall [control center], mouse and keyboard apps, The Cleaner Registry and Process Viewer, nVidia apps...) There's a picture showing details of the f***** program. Thanks!

    winrar theme

Maybe someone would like to install a WinRAR theme along with WinRAR, and there's a way. I used the RunOnceExec in my Unattended CD and worked. If anyone knows I can post a little "guide" to show how I did it. I think it's possible to create a single custom installer for WinRAR and apply the theme, but I didn't tested. By the way, the iCandy theme everybody's talking is WinRAR Jr.???
  23. have you tried using this with WindowBlinds or any related software (I don't use WB anymore, but I think it supports Windows Visual Styles)?
  24. maybe you should click "Apply" just after you choosed the custom icons, 'cause Iconworkshop doesn't change the icons in the right time you choosed what icon you wanted to use, you must "Apply" the changes. Maybe it would help you. What version are you using? Are you using Iconworkshop?
