Now my parents recently bought me a Advent 7081 laptop which has a SiS661GX Chipset (although CPU-Z reports it as the newer and better 661FX ). Regardles of the chipset version both of these support 533MHz FSB. I would really like to do this mod as my CPU is the 1.3GHz Celeron M Dothan chip. Plus this would be a great boost to a £400 laptop. The only things im worried about are, disassembly of laptop (not my biggest concern) and how i would insert a jumper into the ZIF socket. Which kind of jumper should i use? Can i just take the plastic off a normal HDD/motherboard jumper and insert it in? Will any pins be broken due to this? Any advice would be appreciated

when flashing your bios it will usually give u the option 2 backup your current bios. its pretty easy. as long as u backup your current bios you'll be fine

yeah i used to use Outlook 2003 blue theme but now it doesn;t really go with my theme. but the options are there now

Right click my computer > Properties > Advanced Tab > Performance Section > Settings > Select "Adjust for best appearance" radio box and press OK apply ok etc etc and it'll sort it

I know this ain't exactly relevant but my sempron 2200+ socket a has went from 1.5GHz to 2.03 @ 450MHz FSB along with RAM, although im in a memory management plagued nforce2 board although i have only been able 2 achieve this since buying new RAM (GeIL Value PC3200 @ 6-3-3-2.5). could your RAM maybe be holding you back? im on air cooling myself, (not a great heatsink just basic copper base) and i can push my socket a very far, so im assuming on the more powerful nforce4 with ur stock cooling and as long as the ram is ok id say maybe 1.8GHz, 400MHz on stock cooling would be pretty **** good IMO good luck with whatever overclocking you try though

Sorry guys to bump an old thread but here is a XPized firefox theme called Luna https://addons.mozilla.org/themes/moreinfo....umpg=10&id=1622 makes it integrate into XP nicely, hope some of you find it helpful

GS is only a fraction slower at default speeds, but when overclocked it whips the GT's a**. Go for the GS, save the money and do a quick overclock n get better performance.. There is a few reviews of the card on various sites, google for it and you'll see benchmarks (and also, the GS has loads available, its VERY hard finding a 6800GT card nowadays)

there still is a UA version of XPize, its included in XPize now, instead of doing 2 seperate releases they are bundled into one with the choice of installing or patching your i386

My way of making a seamless OEM logo: Start a NEW image in Photoshop with a TRANSPARENT background, set it to the size of your OEM logo. Design as you wish but don't fill the background with anything (obviously ) Save the image as a PNG with transparency. Then get the little tool I've attached to this post, drag your PNG into it and make sure in the app .BMP is selected in the dropdown menu. Once you drag and drop the PNG into this window, look where your PNG was saved, you will now have a perfect replica in BMP format with proper alpha channels and it will look pr0 on any theme, no droppers no magic pink background, just a nice 32-bit OEM logo AlphaConv tool: Click To Download

ah right lol not sure if it comes with office 2003 or not, not installed it in ages lol, its a nice font tho, hav it auto install on my xp cd, ncie professional font

nope, office 2003 is a tahoma based product, segoe ui has been in the making for 2 years at MS, and its the new vista font and office 12 font office 12 will use 8pt and vista will use 9pt as standard. but ya right in saying it renders better in cleartype, that is what it was designed for and i personally like that fact XPero has made XPize change all the ugly remains of MS Sans Serif into Tahoma, xp looks a LOT better like this

Key word - may. I've been running XPize on my computer without any problems whatsoever. No explorer crashes, no strange bugs.People put it on their computer because it looks a lot better than the default, while not taking up any more resources. @Ðrзω™ - Love the avatar!!! lmfao... EDIT - Firefox 1.07 works fine here. Dunno what's up with that... yeah my firefox works ok as well... plus no bugs as i stated in windows or anything else.. and thanx thot it was about time i had sumthing 2 match domokun in my sig lol

to make windows look good for a change majority of users like myself hav no problems with it... and nice 1 XPero for making all the dialogs use MS Shell DLG/Tahoma... even my msn messenger convos use it looks much neater

well ive downloaded and updated my mirror... not tried it yet however will do sometime later today might just be the update with the new switches for users with problems with powerdvd etc.. need 2 wait on xpero 2 update us with a changelog

but those icons dont look anything like xp icons... XPize is to replace old windows 9x resources and make XP look fully XPized... not create a totally diff look...
