What kind of PSU do you have?

Go check out EVGA's lifetime warranty and see if your video card is still eligible!
-
Then keep checking when they have offers @ dell. They sometimes have 25% off on the actual price and using stackable coupons you end up getting a really good deal!
-
I would get the Dell 2007fpw as it costs almost the same.

What are you cross posting the same topic in 2 different forums??? There is already a forum for posting vista related questions.

Anyone successfully installed Beta 2 on an Asus A8N-SLI Premium?
big poppa pump replied to Mr Snrub's topic in Windows Vista
I have vista installed on a A8N-SLI Premium with the Yukon controller enabled just fine - both 32 and 64 bit. -
I dont know whether to laugh or bang my head and cry on your post!!! As said, try another driver release - if the newer ones do the same thing go back 3-4 driver versions and see if they work. After all that if the problem still persists then it might be a incompatibilty problem with the particular video card manufacturer and your mobo. I had a similar problem with my Nvidia 7800gtx built by BFG and Asus SLI Premium mobo. I tried a similar card from eVGA and everything was allright!!!

Anybody here with an MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum?
big poppa pump replied to RyanVM's topic in Hardware Hangout
As I told you earlier, CBROM does a good job of adding/updating modules to your BIOS file. I might prolly end up doing it one of these days for my ASUS Si3114r5. -

There is nothing that scary about using cbrom to update onboard raid modules. I have been using cbrom ever since the nf7-s days to update the onboard si3112r raid module and never once had a problem or a screwup. You should be perfectly okay if you updated the raid module only. -
Run Winsat aurora for 5 minutes or more. Log off and log on back again. Aero should work now!

Problem solved! Culprit - video card! Sold off both my 7800gtx and got a ATI x1900xtx and all is well. Vista installs without a problem. No more black screen!

I have the HDA X-Mystique right now and trust me it makes a world of difference when playing games and music. I love this card especially when playing FPS games since I am able to pinpoint and tell where the enemies are based on the sound. The 2 channel output on the creative cards might be good, but there's s big diff between 2.1 and true 5.1. Analog 5.1 is just 2 channel output through all the 5 speakers and doesnt even come close to this. I have been spoiled by the 5.1 soundstorm since the nforce2 days and I refuse to have anything else other than true DD 5.1 on my computer. And to answer your questions, YES! all games, mp3 and movies (all formats) are output in DD 5.1 sound. With either the coaxial or spidf output on the card you can get 5.1 sound (everything). And this blows away anything output from analog output. I will be upgrading to the HDA-Xplosion in the next couple of months since I prefer DTS over DD 5.1. I feel that DTS adds a better punch to the sound than DD 5.1. Trust me, you wont ever regret buying this card!
-
Yep! Since the sound card is able to do on the fly dolby 5.1 encoding, 2 channel sounds are encoded and spit out as 5.1 sound!
-
I have surround with my digital output. So you are wrong! It all comes down to the sound card you are using. If you continue using s***ty sound cards, especially the ones from Creative, you will always have a 2 channel output with digital. Get a good sound like the HDA X-Mystiqyue (DD5.1) or the HDA Xplosion (DTS) and you can enjoy true 5.1 digital sound

Yeps! ffdshow is all I need as it plays everything I throw at it. And its much better than the bloatware codec packs like Ace or Klite or any other similar ones.

Some of us who work in the tech industry will have to be evaluating it right away. Fortunately I have both a TechNet Plus and MSDN subscription at work so I can start testing a little early.. Agree! I have been in the tech industry for the past 10 years and have MSDN subscriptions from 2 different places. I have MSDN through my work and another one for my own company. So to sum it up, I'm 31, not greasy haired as I always do a crew cut, no freckles, and oh not to forget I am married for the last 6 years...aka already got laid long before that!!! So, Jeremy, if you still keep thinking what you said above, you really need to get outside more. Some people actually need that much space. My home file server has 1.25TB. @Jeremy - You do realize that people actually use disk space for things other than storing porn! I have 1.75 TB of disk space on my server @ home which doubles up for both home and business use. I use the server as a server for my mce pc and the extenders @ home. Currently I have over 250 DVD movies and 200+ divx movies archived in the server as I find this much easier than to insert a DVD every time I want to watch a movie. So guess what! I have the best of both worlds - I have a s**tload of disk space and I have a big penis too!!!

High school -> MBA! There is a period of 6-8 years in there. I would worry more about taking the SAT and getting into college rather than graduate school.

Windows Vista Beta version(5308) download address
big poppa pump replied to jerreve's topic in Windows Vista
Well, not all MSDN subscribers know or realize that they have access to windows VISTA CTP download. For that matter, my system admin did not know about this till the time I told him that he could download and test the beta from our MSDN subscription.
