  1. For some reason I cannot reply to an email using outlook express because after I hit the "reply" button, the normal reply window comes up however in the subject area it is simply a gray box with the lil red x in the top left like an image cannot be displayed. I can connect to the server and read all emails just fine. I have reinsstalled shockwave and active x. I've recently upgraded to SP2, I have tried in IE6 and Maxthon. Any ideas? Sry.. guess I should have posted in the Office forum... but still, can anyone help??
  2. Thanks for the info. and basically from much that I've read the most important is the CAS latency which is the first number in the string, and both of these are 5. So I'm going with the PC2 6400. Thanks again.
  3. Are you doing this in an active directory environment in a network or on your home computer?
  4. I have used The Godfather in the past, what are your opinions on the best and smartest mass mp3 renaming apps?
  5. PerfectDisk 7 gets my vote, been using it for a while and it performs great.
  6. Kinda what I was thinking you'd say. But will I seriously notice that much of a difference between the 5-4-4-9 and 5-5-5-15 timings?? And doesn't the ASUS OC'ing allow me to tighten it down so to speak? Thanks again J.
  7. Alright... well, torn again, what a suprise. Need some opinions on the Corsair RAM. I don't know whether to go with the DDR2 800 PC2 6400 or the DDR2 1000 PC2 8000. I know the 800 would be enough, but the 1000 has much more agressive timings and is obviously faster. What do you think ? Those don't have to be the only options either, if you have better DDR2 800, 1000 suggestions... Thanks.
  8. GTalk works just fine for me... great, another messenger, lol. I'm using the gMail drive to create a virtual drive in explorer as well... I just wish there wasn't that 10MB limit per uploaded file. I have heard there's workarounds but I haven't been able to get it to work. Any ideas?
  9. As far as the RAM, I've been doing a lots of research. I was scared at first when I read the P5WD2 QVL for RAM as it didn't say you could use 2 pairs (4 x 512mb) of RAM. After consulting with the guys on the Asus forum it turns out you can with no problem. I'm going with the Corsair XMS2 2x512mb PC 6400, 800MHz. I know you recommended Kingston, but evryone on that forum says this is great stuff. One guy even has DDR2 @ 1000MHz in the board OC'd to something like 1300MHz. Thats insane. What do ya think about that choice though??? Let me know. Thanks.
  10. Yeah, I didn't take it to literally... just would have rather seen raving reviews ya know. I just ordered the Raptor. I'm trying to decide on if I should buy some Arctic Silver 5 and a different HS/Fan for the p4 660. Obvisouly it gets very hot and I wanna keep it as cool as possible.
  11. Antitrust with Tim Robbins was great...
  12. Alright, thanks... I was kind of wondering if there would be a performance gain/decrease beetween using 4x512 instead of 2x1gb RAM in dual channel. I suppose if they are both the same type, just smaller size there shouldn't be a speed difference right? And the IDE vs. SATA burner. Even though an IDE drive and SATA drive may boast the same R/R/RW values, will the SATA burner be 'faster' or at a better advantage due to the SATA or are IDE buners just as good? The one you suggested is $49.99 on newegg, with a couple of bad reviews . Still up in the air, however either tomorrow or on Monday I'm ordering the 3.6, the raptor and 2x512 kingston I suppose since I'd like dual channel at the beginning. I have a spare normal IDE dvd-rom I can use for install. Anyone else out there have suggestions on a good SATA/IDE dual-layer burner, preferably black?? Thanks again jcarle.
  13. I'll try splitting it among the 2 drives. Thanks guys!
  14. Thanks gamehead... I use network stumbler as well. I like the app but it doesn't have the functionality that allows you to connect to the network. I do like the graphs though! @Bigbrit, thanks for the suggestion I'll try it out. I am hoping to find freeware though.
  15. On the hunt for suggestions as to what the best wireless 802.11 a/b/g sniffer is. Looking for something that will allow me to find all wireless networks in range of me, details of the network, and to connect to the network if open/shared and WEP is disabled. Win32, preferably made for 2000/XP. Any wireless sniffer suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
  16. Thats what I was thinking. Most likely won't need the page much though ya think? I mean 2GB of RAM is quite plenty for most everything out there nowadays, unless an app specifically requires it.
  17. Need some suggestions on what would provide the best performance with my pagefile assuming I have a 74GB Raptor on a SATAII controller and another 120GB (7200rpm) backup aslo SATAII. On the Raptor I want a 10GB C: for system/program files, and the other 60GB as backup. I want the 120 as one partition, all backup. Which of the following scenerios would be the best: 1) Pagefile on the 10GB C: partition along with Windows and program files 2) Pagefile on the 60GB D: partition along with backup 3) Pagefile on a completely different drive, the 120 I guess the other option is to leave the Raptor as all one partition, which I won't mind, having it divided makes things easier for me generally though. FYI, this will be on a system with initially 2x512mb Kingston PC2 5300 @ 667MHZ, and eventually 2GB. All ideas/other options are welcome as well. Thanks all!
  18. Run a search in Outlook on all mail folders.... And why are you dragging and dropping? Why not create a rule that will automatically move the emails into a specific folder that you want once they arrive? Just my 2 cents.
  19. What you've requested is already in the forums, look at the bottom of the page in each topic. Though not in tree view, still effective, I think it works flawlessly.
  20. Not sure why your unattended CD did that.... to turn off the user logon screen either goto start > run > and type "control userpasswords2" or open "User Accounts" in the control panel. Then simply click change the way users log on and off. Another way I'd recommend would be to install PowerToys and use TweakUI within that app to logon users automatically at startup. Hope that helps.
