  1. The only problem with the WinRAR SFX part is that the MSI running is seen as separate from the exe running, meaning that start /wait is pretty much useless. The way around this is to use 7-zip to create it instead. I'll edit this post with a link in a minute to a 7-zip version which runs without user interaction. At that point, if Aaron would like to host it on the MSFN site, that would be cool.
  2. There's a big long thread with instructions on how to create an administrative install point with .NET SP1 slipstreamed.
  3. No, XP's client doesn't have that. Yes, I want it Care to help a brutha out?
  4. Meh, I figure I'll leave it for a mod/admin to create/maintain.
  5. Yes, now make that a couple months and you know where mine is at
  6. As far as I'm aware, it's the only way. But yeesh, that's far from the biggest part of an unattended install. So what if you have to be there an extra 15 seconds at the beginning of setup to specify the partition?
  7. Unrelated to your post, but I just noticed your sig. Looks like I started a trend @Aaron: What's different about the Win2K3 version of the Remote Desktop Client and where would one go about acquiring it?
  8. If you delete and recreate the partition, it will ask you which file system to format it with.
  9. , maybe we could start a new "SP2 fixes" sticky with this as the first one
  10. Ugh, I need to create a new to-do list. My unattended install is about to die from neglect I think.
  11. Could you guys test one of these out for me? They're the same uncompressed, so pick whichever one suits you. EDIT: Links removed.
  12. Guys, I think I got it. I've got a 16MB (WinRAR compressed) administrative install point with 6.0.2 integrated into it B)
  13. I wonder if an administrative install point would work for slipstreaming the 6.0.2 update...
  14. You need Windows Scripting Host 5.6.0.8825 as well (it's newer than SP2's build)
  15. Sweet, thanks for posting the link.
  16. FYI, MS just released a newer build of Windows Script 5.6 (build 8825). This is newer than the build included in XPSP2 (build 8820). http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en
  17. I'll put the 7z version up tomorrow evening (EDT). I'm in the process of switching residence halls at school right now, so my main computer is sitting in a box currently.
  18. Don't use it. The version included on the CD is an outdated version. The directory it's in is safe to delete. Read the .NET SP1 thread for info on how to include the newest version along with download links to the latest version.
  19. Since this appears to be an nLite bug, maybe you should post about it in the nLite forum.
  20. Ryan VM I take my hat off to ya been trying to sort this for a week your method has done the trick what a great place & minds we have here. Glad to be of service
  21. , I'm still personally torn betweening adding WMP10 to my install CD or flat out removing WMP from it entirely . I use the K-Lite Mega Codec pack, so all of the Windows Media codec and MPC are included with that, but only WMP can play DRM-protected content (last time I checked, anyway).
  22. sfcfix.exe was posted in the SFC_OS patched for SP2 thread. Basically, I just patched it, did the necessary modifype and makecab work to it. But yes, I did test it in VirtualPC and it worked like a charm.
  23. Well that's a bummer. I hope the SFX module will be beefed up in future releases of 7-zip.
  24. SP2 (I patched and tested it myself). With this patched version, you can delete any folder in Program Files that used to be protected by SFC. http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/SFCFILES.DL_
