  1. I guess it must have been the firewall ...
  2. @charlesg: That won't work ... That document is not a script file, rather a list of Hotfixes and relevant information that is parsed by XPCREATE. THere are some threads here that tell how to use that file locally, as opposed to from a Web Server. 27 Critical updates is way outta line ... Sorry, the What Goes Where, and Current Hotfix List are all that we have right now. Welcome to MSFN! @infini: Sure, it would be nice ... Any volunteers ...
  3. There is no special configuration needed for Windows 2000: XPCREATE recognizes the Windows Version. The Hotfix Lists for Windows 2000 and Windows 2003, as well as all non-English versions of Windows XP have been "blanked". That is to say that they report that no updates are to be downloaded. This was done due to outdated hotfix lists. For now, you can manually download the updates listed on the Current Hotfixes Web Page.
  4. Looks like this one is cleared up. Simply a WINNT.SIF question, and not an XPCREATE concern.
  5. Thanks, Morkeleb. Looks like you've been through this before. I agree, that the process for creating an Unattended Windows CD is not always beautiful, but once you figure out the routine that suits you best, it becomes pretty ... routine.
  6. The only work around I can think of is to find the MM20ENU file somewhere, and manually place it in the correct directory. (SVC-X2M)
  7. I would say XPCREATE is certainly NOT your answer. XPCREATE is for generating an updated Windows Distribution, not creating the Ultimate Unattended Installation. It could be used as the starting point: create an updated CD, and use that as the basis for your Unattended CD. THe MSFN Unattended Forum is where you will need to go for those answers. And remember ... "editing" XPCREATE.CMD is against the rules (and highly immoral ... )
  8. Thanks, Vel Straty, the test I'd like to see now is Windows 2000 with some, or all, the hotfixes. Time and patience permitting, of course. The last log file looked fine, though you did already have SP2 before XPCREATING.
  9. It is not able to download, because Microsoft has removed the download. Modifying the script to skip it is MOST CERTAINLY NOT allright, and it is against the EULA that you aggreed to upon installation. Due to numerous problems with downloading, the Hotfix Lists have been blanked.
  10. You can test your .CMD script independently of setup: just run it from a command prompt, and check the RunOnceEx key in the registry after to see what has been correctly added. You can also direct the output to log files, add your PAUSE statements, etcetera.
  11. I have updated a couple small errors ... Please re-download. @MindMaster: I think a lot of your problems are due to XPCREATE.INI misconfiguration. You seem to have CDBURNER=YES. In any event, please try a first run of the new XPCREATE without modifying XPCREATE.INI. THat shold create an ISO file. Then make the modifications to the lines you need ONLY. THere seems to be some confusion: CDSOURCE will hold the XP Source files for subsequent runs. CDROOT is the disposible directory from which the ISO is created. @Vel Straty: I have made a couple of changes that should get you going. You will need to set DLAUTO=NO for non-English versions, and download the files your self (for now). I appreciate your help, but modifying the code is generally not allowed, for the reasons stated here: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=23255 However, as this is the test phase, I forgive you! (And again, thanks for your help.)
  12. If it is not on the Web Site, it is unsupported. You will need to use conventional methods. See the MSFN Unattended Guide.
  13. I cannot see where your error is: it is not the same as the Spanish version error. Perhaps a firewall or proxy issue. The Automatic Downloading feature should be considered a "plus": It works for most people, but not all. For those that it does not work for I am sorry, but I have very little motivation to debug this issue: it is neither stimulating nor chalenging, amd more often than not the problem is due to the end user's configuration, or firewall and proxy issues. It is by no means an "interesting" problem. For those user's that cannot use this feature, the Current Hotfix List on the Web Site exists.

    Dutch SP2?

Behaviour by design: the lists have not updated for anything but the English version. I will update the lists AFTER the next XPCREATE release. For now, just set DLAUTO=NO, and manually download your service pack and other files.
  15. Right you are, J05E! (Welcome to MSFN!) I will note that the list there is for the (soon to be released) next XPCREATE version.
  16. From the log file, it shows that the service pack did get merged, and the last thing listed is copying the files. Really .... Start completly clean, and use an ORIGINAL MICROSOFT CD as the source. I can see from the logs that this is not the case. Debugging from a distance is hard enough. That is why I insist on using known source files ... Even if you may think the differences are minor, they may not be ... Perhaps you could edit the log file out of your post where it is cut and pasted? Thanks!
  17. Sorry , no ... USERFILESCD is the same as FILESCD, if just allows the user to point to it. I would just make a switchless self extractor that copies the files to System32. IEXPRESS and a Command Script would work. That could run from SVCPACK.INF (SVC-EXE would get it there.)
  18. Da nada! (SP2 lists will be out ... soon ... )
  19. Hmmm... looks like you have some old stuff in there. I would sugest you install to a new, empty directory, and try again. If you cannot attach the log file, please email it to the address in my signature.
  20. Don't forget to add REG.EXE somewhere in the path, e.g. WINNT\System32.
  21. If you got that far, you should be OK!
  22. [Homenet] EnableICS = No ShowTrayIcon = YesDoesn't work in Windows XP Professional SP2: No Network Icon is displayed, and the box is still unchecked in Network Properties. It was a nice thought, anyway ... @RyanVM ... and it gets worse!
