  1. Three at once? Let me say: Welcome to MSFN, Scuttle! Welcome to MSFN, anand! Welcome to MSFN, Square One! As Square One suggests, you must create the WINNT.SIF file. Check out the link Square One provided. The SATA Drivers will remain as they are: the User must provide his own drivers. THis is due to the fact that there are many different versions for what may appear to be similar hardware, and so that the user will assume responibility for finding the correct driver. Otherwise, there would be much too much SATA debugging required no my part, for hardware that I do not have. I will offer to consider debugging these issues to those sending my the hardware in question ... Seems like the information on XPCREATE.INI got lost somewhere. More complete information on this file IS available on the Web Site. I will be working no the documentation just as soon as the next version is stable.
  2. Thanks, frankiboy_01, for setting him straight! The Next Version should be out next week. As suggested, look at The XPCREATE Web Site for information about where to put the files.
  3. Hmmm ... I am not really sure what you are trying to install and/or slipstream. If there is an error, I really would like to see LOGFILES.CAB attached. See http://greenmachine.msfnhosting.com/XPCREATE/help.htm for more information. It looks to me like you are using SP1, and not SP2. If so, I am afraid I am no longer "supporting" SP1. By that I mean testing and keeping track of the updates and hotfixes. If I have some free time, and boredom, after the next release of XPCREATE I may look into these SP1 questinos again, but that is not for tomorrow ...
  4. Thanks, it_ybd. Are those updates (KB885523 & KB885626) really needed for SP2 installations? I am under the impression that they are not. Yes, jobbie, that is correct: the IE update goes into SVC-HF1.
  5. Windows Media Connect does seem to cause problems: I have not figured out how to have it install silently, without popping up a window complaining about SystemRestore being disabled. If anyone has any informatin on that, please share!
  6. This is a strange one. I did have it working at one point (I thought), and then I, too, had no luck with it. For the time being, I'm adding this to the "Unsupported" list. On the other hand, I cannot find the download link. Anyone have it? If so, please post it here. Thanks.
  7. Back in business. You doubted? Oh well, vacations are always too short ...
  8. Thanks, it_ybd. It looks to me like somehow an older version of Microsoft's VJM snuck in there, and needed an update. Perhaps your source had previously slipstreamed SP1 (not SP1A).
  9. Sounds strange, shortie ... Any more information on this? If not, please attach LOGFILES.CAB, and I'll look if anything is amiss there.
  10. It may, or may not, work. However, using it kind of defeats the purpose of XPCREATE. As I've done with other projects in the past, I am adding this to the Unsupported list. That is not to say that it does not work, but to say that I will not be testing it with XPCREATE. Beware that both the pack and XPCREATE may need to modify the same files, thus raising compatability issues ...
  11. Thanks for that, NotVeryNice. I suspect that having to install Active Perl scared off a few of the potential users. As soon as the next version is released, I hope this becomes a mute point ...
  12. I get the drift! My only point is that the Release Candidate WILL NOT work: you will always get a "Cannot find Windows Version Tag File." error.
  13. Right you are: those are only cosmetic errors. No need to worry! (They have been eliminated ... )
  14. Welcome to MSFN, NotVeryNice! Yes, the error is more or less as you describe it. It has been corrected in the next release ... For now, renaming as you suggested, or in 8.3 format will solve the problem.
  15. Actually ... I don't know (nor care to know) the different files in Evaluation or RTM versions. In fact, if the problem shows up in an evaluation version, I would be very tempted to suggest trying the real deal, before I invest my time in "solving" the problem. I also would not garantee that using a Evaluation CD would work. This case, however, is a Release Candidate , which is definitly unsupported (as jamesmk correctly sumised).
  16. Thanks, Famer, I think all of those will be gone in the next version. As soon as I finish this road trip, some time next week, I will put up the Next Version for all to test. Until then I haven't much debugging time, which is why I am waiting.
  17. The answer to this mystery lies in the log files. The mystery is now, where were the log files posted. And no, I do not promise it will work with any copy ... au contraire.
  18. Hmmmmm ... I must have missed something ...
  19. Welcome!
  20. Your not giving me all I need/request to work on ... Please read the following: http://greenmachine.msfnhosting.com/XPCREATE/help.htm Welcome to MSFN!
  21. That was easy ... As you guessed, I saw no problem in the logfiles, but thanks for including it, anyway!
  22. Thanks, Bilou ... I guess my answer was a little short ...
  23. Caught me! I updated the Web Site before releasing the next version. What you see there is more up to date than your XPCREATE version. What you need to do is put the OPK version of DX9B in SVC-PRE. I think youcan find it in the Unattended Guide. Welcome to MSFN, judicator!
  24. Welcome to MSFN, Richard Berg! Thanks for that info, Richard Berg & homiebrah. I have to think about adding that ...
