  1. From a Google Search: http://www.computing.net/answers/windows-9...stub/91934.html (deals with replacing Oleaut32.dll) http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/win98/t1079588681 (deals with replacing dispex.dll) http://support.microsoft.com/kb/321915 (deals with same error but when installing programs... mentions Oleaut32.dll) http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers/35.html (mentions Oleaut32.dll) Google Cache: Techguy Forums Sounds like a incompatibility with either Oleaut32.dll or dispex.dll...
  2. 1). I'm not interested in your crap... and last time I checked, I was a person... 2). At least you realize why you get smacked with the ol' BAN stick everytime you pop your head up here in the forums... You really need to find somewhere else to peddle your lame "patches"...
  3. Are you performing a nude or partially nude strip show...? That might explain all the heavy breathing and strange sounds... or not...
  4. The only place I could find mentioning UNICOWS.DLL in my registry was... [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDLLs] "C:\\WINDOWS\\SYSTEM\\UNICOWS.DLL"=dword:00000001 You may want to add that... apps may look there for it's location... UNICOWS.reg
  5. Thanks Drugwash, what's the best/last version under Win98SE?I've been using Starter v5.6.2.8 for quite a while... with no problems to report... http://codestuff.tripod.com/Starter.zip
  6. http://support.creative.com/Products/Produ...e=Sound+Blaster Requirements: Microsoft® Windows® XP Service Pack 2 or Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 Creative Sound Blaster 5.1 There are no windows me drivers...
  7. Sorry I didn't see this post earlier... I'm on Win98SE... not XP... so I don't often look around in the XP section... I modified my Explorer menus a few years ago... for the reason you have stated... On Win98SE, you can use RESHACKER to modify menus 210 & 216 in Shell32.dll to move "DELETE" away from "RENAME"... It may be different on XP... and probably is... but this will give you the basic idea... Hope this helps...
  8. I'm a provocateur...? Pot... meet kettle... Do you want to know how I knew it was you... spplus...?
  9. Hello spplus (spackplus / nspp)... You seem to have a pathological need to register and post even though you've been banned multiple times... Goodbye spplus...
  10. Why?As I stated above... You are still removing DRM (and almost all it's files / registry entries)... DRM will not function even if DRMCLIEN.DLL is in your SYSTEM folder... DRMCLIEN.DLL has been unregistered... and all other DRM files and registry entries are gone... I want to not include any DRM files in codec pack. Then you should stick with the last version of WMVCORE.DLL that works for you (without a dependency on DRMCLIEN.DLL)...
  11. Then you should stick with the latest version of WMVCORE.DLL that works for you (without a dependency on DRMCLIEN.DLL)... But, as I stated above, it's OK to use the newest version... you are still removing DRM (and all it's files / registry entries)... DRM will not function even if DRMCLIEN.DLL is in your SYSTEM folder... DRMCLIEN.DLL has been unregistered... and all other DRM files and registry entries are gone...
  12. Heh ... from the MP9URP9X update before the following one: New MP9URP9X February 2009 release: Unofficial Windows Media Player 9.0 (WMP9) Update Rollup Packs (URP) for Windows 98/98 SP1/98 SE/ME install ALL previously released WMP9 Hotfixes, Patches + Updates: WMP9URP February 2009 for Windows 98/98 SP1/98 SE/ME [9.07 MB, English]: http://www.mdgx.com/spx/MP9URP9X.EXE The Feb. update has a newer ones... 9.00.00.4504 I just haven't installed it yet...
  13. Thanks for the bug report.Anyone tested this? Yeppers... After uninstalling DRM (all it's files and registry entries), you need to place DRMCLIEN.DLL back into your WINDOWS\SYSTEM folder... DRMCLIEN.DLL does not need to be registered... it just needs to be there... as WMVCORE.DLL has a "dependency" on DRMCLIEN.DLL, and will not function correctly without it...
  14. Have you installed Windows Installer 2.0 Redistributable for Windows 95, 98, and Me? The installation modules that you are having problems with, may require it... http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;DisplayLang=en

  16. If it's a win98 system, why not simply use System File Checker (SFC.exe) to replace files that are locked or "in use"...?
  17. http://www.labnol.org/internet/video/youtu...r-country/2680/ According to the above article, it's not YOUTUBE that's blocking you... it's that the content owners have allowed access to that video only from certain countries or geographic regions They can choose who can view it... and from where... The above article gives some workarounds to the problem...
  18. Slimbrowser is just an IE shell... as is Maxthon, Avant, CrazyBrowser etc... They can add many more features and options, but they all rely IE as their base... That is... if IE has been removed from your computer, none of them would function...
