  1. Photoshop CS2, but that must be hundreds of €'s and hundreds of MB's! I will try Photoshop Elements. Where can you set the language? I have never set something to German. I only filled in the location: Vlaams Brabant, Belgium. But you are right, I am 3/4 Dutch
  2. Bedankt Martijn! What program do you use? I lost the transparancy when using PhotoFiltre. Axialis IconWorkshop can not edit PNG's. You can convert it to ICO, edit it, and convert it back to PNG, it keeps the transparancy but there should be an easier way. And the program is not free. I also tried JDraw and SnIco, but thy are not as good as PhotoFiltre.

    XPize 4.2 BETA 2

It has nothing to do with the color combination of my theme, I also get is with the Royale theme. It is related with the Privacy-notification icon next to it.

    XPize 4.2 BETA 2

Could this orange line in the Internet Explorer status bar also be a tiny graphical imperfection of XPize?
  6. Here is mine, not really XP style though. Made it with PhotoFiltre.

    XPize 4.2 BETA 2

First of all: Merry Christmas! Thanks a lot XPero for the christmas presents and another great release of XPize! A few things: - I don't have inetmgr.dll on my XP Media Center Edition either, but everything works fine. - The new screensaver seems not to work. The small preview in the control panel shows the saltshaker but full screen I get the standard Windows XP screensaver instead. - IMO the XPize Menu is useless. - Maybe you can add a selection to the installer wether to add XPize to the Start Menu or not. - The shared folder icon in filemgmt.dll and shrpubw.exe have thick borders for the large icon (all the other large folder icons have thin borders), and the small icon is in perspective (all the other small folder icons are straight). - In Paint, on the right side of the rectangular selection button on the toolbar, there are some pixels that belong to the eraser. So the eraser icon is 1 column to wide on the left side in the long bitmap of buttons. Also the shape of the eraser is a bit irregular on the front. Some of the bitmaps are not really centered in the buttons on the toolbar. I'm really picky here, you might have to zoom in to see this.
  8. I didn't test it with the XPize uninstaller because I removed al that stuff but Windows XP MCE does not protect the Royale style. Like in other Windows XP editions only Luna style is protected. I tested it maually.
  9. Like with most Microsoft programs you only need the .msi.
  10. For the display thingie it is themeui.dll, taskbar properties explorer.exe and the little shudown, logoff, please wait screens msgina.dll. Edit: For the plaese wait screen it is shell32.dll, but I don't think you want to uninstall that one. And have a look at this topic http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=63023

    Batmeter

@ Godzilla There was already a thread in that direction. In one of the XPize versions XPero did include new batmeter bitmaps but most people didn't like it so it was not continued. It looked like the batmeter that is now in Vista. Something plain, white, flat. Even in Windows Vista Microsoft did not add true color support for the batmeter, bootscreen and management console but made the bootscreen and batmeter all white. By the way: does someone know if the Management Console 3.0, which is now in Pre-release state only availeble in 3 languages, has support for true color icons? @ keytotime How can it be made more rounded? Edge smoothing and stuff is not possible here.

    Batmeter

I understand that XPero does not waste his time with designing icons that will never look really nice because only 16 colors are supported but I made a custom batmeter bitmap. The first is only a simplified version of the original and the second one is more modern but looks a bit flat. I'm not a good graphic designer so if anyone has some good idees for this... batmeter_groot_1.bmp batmeter_groot_2.bmp batmeter_klein_1.bmp batmeter_klein_2.bmp

    [BETA] XPize 4.2

Sorry, I was not very clear. I mean that some seas are missing. I don't care about the projection method.

    [BETA] XPize 4.2

Sorry for the terrible compression but have a look at the timezone bitmap. Off course it looks nice but it is geographicly not correct. Someone mensioned it already in another topic some time ago and posted an alternative. The color combination is a bit different but they both look nice IMO. Here is this topic: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=57183
  15. I like the Anti-Aliased Cursors Shado.

    [BETA] XPize 4.2

You haven't fixed the timezone bitmap. But again an awesome release.
  17. There are no special hardware requirements for XP MCE. By ATI there is a separate section for Windows XP MCE but the drivers you can download there are the same as the normal XP drivers. So I guess the normal XP drivers from nvidia will do as well. Officially you need a graphic card with DirectX 9 support to have a Media Center and maybe they only exist for nForce4, that's why there are only drivers for the latter with an MCE label.
  18. You need something to get rid of the afvertisements! I use Internet Explorer with AdsFilter and I never have spyware and not many ads.
  19. I haven't seen other skins for Media Center yet. You can disable Media Center Extender Service, Media Center Reciever Service, Media Center Sheduler-service and Multimedia Home Networking Service. You can delete the .wmv files in WINDOWS\ehome\ to save disk space and uninstall the Sonic CD/DVD Burning but I don't think you can make the application itself smaller.

    XPize 4.1 MCE

It seems that some people at Microsoft Corporation didn't do their job. In C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.0.3705\System.dll and C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.1.4322\System.dll there are only old icons and in C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\System.dll there is one new icon and al the rest is still the same. I applied that one to .config files now. In these files thare are a bunch of really ugly icons, but you only see them while browsing trough the list of filetypes; C:\WINDOWS\system32\clipbrd.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\msconf.dll C:\Program Files\NetMeeting\conf.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ntbackup.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Ole DB\msdasql.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\mshta.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\itss.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\ivfsrc.ax C:\WINDOWS\system32\mplay32.exe C:\Program Files\NetMeeting\nmwb.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\msrating.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\oleprn.dll C:\Program Files\NetMeeting\nmoldwb.dll C:\WINDOWS\system32\appmgr.dll

    XPize 4.1 MCE

The .doc, .rtf and other WordPad icons are in Program Files\Windows NT\Bureau-accesoires\wordpad.exe (maybe a bit different in English). The .config icon is in WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.0.3705\System.dll In this file there are more of those ugly icons.
  22. With Update Rollup 2 and the extra fix you have every update for XP MCE.

    XPize 4.1 MCE

Hi The icons for .config and .doc files still look oldfashioned to me. Not exactly the .doc files but files associated with WordPad, if you associate it with Word then it looks different off course. When I wanted to include the attachment I saw that some icons had a black background. This is only here in Internet Explorer to attach a file to a post, it's not in other "Save as" or "Open" dialogs. The visual style is not always applied to the buttons "OK", "Apply", "Cancel",... I don't know if that is because of the UXTheme Patch in XPize or because of me.
