Wrong question ! Does IE yet pass Acid 1 ? I guess no. Personnaly, I prefer IE to FF. And I prefer Maxthon to IE. (mouse gestures, popup/activeX bloquer among others) I can't use FF : press shift, a new window will open, not a new tab : it makes no sense. And it can't be changed in (regular) options. And it has fast no feature. Many people call it a messiah but I don't see anything. I guess FF 2 will be better. I'll test it tonight (the alpha version, ehh) I have to admit IE has a special feature : relaxation. It takes ages to load any webpage so that you have the time to close your eyes and relax. I have tried Opera once. I found it was running nice. However, I've not found so many features. I'll dig into it later. I currently have no time. Trust me, IE can be safe. Just set correctly your Security Zones. Restrict rights for the Internet zone. Also, go to Options, security and 'local Intranet' and click on 'sites'. It's the worse thing. Uncheck (at least) the last box. And I forgot. With Maxthon, if you click on a link and drag it somewhere on your page, it will open in a new window. Not in FF, even with latest 2 alpha. (and maxthon does not need an extension to do that)

Already done. Anyway, there's nobody I could vote for: -some racists -some communists that are still dreaming -some authoritarists -some nationalists -some guys that are not better but that, at least, are not worse.

Happy 18th at that! Thank you guys. I'd never thought somebody here would notice it. Thanks a lot. -
M$ graciously sent me win2k3 and win2k3 on CD. They also sent me x64 editions of both XP and 2k3 and Smal Business Server and .......... Check if something called toolstore is available in your country; it still exists in France but not anymore in the US. (they send everything from Ireland) btw, one day, I've seen a key named 'Media' in the registry. It contained infos about WMP skinning, appearance or visualization. I exported it : 150KB! 150KB only for this. Thanks M$. Just install microsoft patch for the WMF vulnerability, it wil do exactly the same thing

Problem running something in cmdlines.txt
Camarade_Tux replied to Camarade_Tux's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Running the script is not the problem right now. If you only run ahk.exe, a window pops up and if you're trying to load a script that does not exist, it will popup some error. Also, I've read the guide and I assume this is a typo because using '/' makes absolutely no sense (because of switchs). RogueSpear, thanks, I thought it was my fault. -
MISC | hack ATI drivers to make them smaller?
Camarade_Tux replied to HeadHunter2's topic in Device Drivers
No idea about driver reduction, but ati2evx.exe is mandatory for, among others, VPU recover and Powerplay (which lets your GPU slow down) -
Hi, I've been using cmdlines.txt to run WIHU for about 8 months with no problem. Today, I tried to run WIHU with a parameter which required quotes and it seems cmdlines.txt doesn't appreciate. So I decided to use an autohotkey script. Moreover, I've added some things to it I couldn't do before. [Commands] "rundll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection nLite.inf,nLiteReg" ".\AHK\AHK.exe AHK\WIHU.txt" My CD structure looks like -$OEM$\AHK\AHK.exe -$OEM$\AHK\lots_of_ahk_files.txt Since I run cmdlines.txt to run autohotkey to run WIHU to run some installers, I'd like not to use another batch file. The autohotkey script is OK, I'm sure about this, I've tested it. My problem is that AHK.exe simply doesn't run. How could I do that ? Thanks for your answers.

Are DirectX and Windows Installer slipstreamable ?
Camarade_Tux replied to Camarade_Tux's topic in HFSLIP
Another congrats from France. My install is now looking OK. I have one problem which appears to be normal ( http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=16070 ) but I wanted to say exactly what happened to my uAXP. Setuperr.log reports Error: Setup could not register the OLE Control E:\WINDOWS\System32\dpnaddr.dll because of the following error: GetProcAddress returned error 127 (the specified procedure could not be found). *** Error: Setup could not register the OLE Control E:\WINDOWS\System32\dpnlobby.dll because of the following error: GetProcAddress returned error 127 (the specified procedure could not be found). and dxdiag does not complain about anything. :woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot: Tomcat, you're added to my donation list. :x -
You have one shell per session. It handles systray and some other things. When you run litestep, you don't really run the shell. To be fully-functionnal, it has to be started by winlogon. In fact, if you run another shell on top of explorer, it's normal that it doesn't work properly.

I personnaly have a Turion and had the same question. Having an Athlon64 build means mplayer will handle SSE, SSE2, SSE3 (?), 3D!Now, and the last one I forgot. Just run MPlayer in a DOS-box (so without MPUI) and you'll see a few lines about handled CPU instructions.

Here's a good site: http://celticdruid.no-ip.com/xvid/ You can download good up-to-date builds of ffdshow, mplayer, mpc.... If you want a really good player, try MPlayer+MPUI : http://mpui.sourceforge.net/ MPlayer is the lightest, best-quality, fastest (try to seek in a movie, it's instantaneous), and most powerful (you can dump any stream you play). It even includes an encoder. But it doesn't have a graphical UI. (in fact, it does but still in beta stage). You can use a frontend such as MPUI which is IMHO the best for windows (did several tries, you can trust me) In fact, ffdshow is quite part of MPlayer. It's MPlayer's decoding part that has been ported to Windows. ...ported to windows This says everything; it's harder to make a proper build.

Shell selection is a single-key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\ Shell (Reg_SZ) No dependency.

Are DirectX and Windows Installer slipstreamable ?
Camarade_Tux replied to Camarade_Tux's topic in HFSLIP
Thanks. It's not an nLited source. I only used the service pack option. Nothing more. hfslip finished its work and that time, dxdiag.exe got updated. I'll nlite it on tomorrow and test it. And ddraw.dll also got updated. :woot: -
Are DirectX and Windows Installer slipstreamable ?
Camarade_Tux replied to Camarade_Tux's topic in HFSLIP
I patched my source (which is Pro indeed) with nLite about 10 months ago. I never had any problem with it. However, I don't have SP1.cab until I run nLite to remove things (including drivers). Then my SP1.cab gets created. Also, MBSA reports SP1 and does not ask for hotfixes older than SP1. I added your tag file to my source (it is a blank file, nothing more, right ?) and it already seems to be helpful. I'm still waiting for hfslip to end but it seemed to me some more things happened. -
And if I have -WIN51 -WIN51ip Without any extension ?

What do you mean by this ? Could you explain a bit more ? As or the files, I was using a lighter set of files before but I thought it could be the cause so I redownloaded the whole package an expanded it. Are DirectX and Windows Installer slipstreamable ?
Camarade_Tux replied to Camarade_Tux's topic in HFSLIP
I just made a new try. I didn't try in VM : files are simply not updated. For example I expanded SOURCESS\I386\dxdiag.ex_ dxdiag is version 5.01.2600.0000 when it should be 5.03.0001.0904. I'm using latest DirectX redist from February and not simple 9.0c. Could it be the cause ? http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en (note that you don't need WGA on this page. ) /attached 'hfslip.bat >> debug.txt' hfslip_dx_debug.7z
