  1. Does anyone know how to install AVG 6.5 free silently?
  2. Where'd you find that? I don't recall it being in ref.chm...
  3. Well, Lucky, I just tried your idea and I get a message that Line 7 of hivesft.inf is corrupted.
  4. Some dll's are signed, but I think for the two big ones anyone would care about we've got versions that will work (uxtheme.dll and sfc_whatever for WFP). As for dosnet.inf, I've been considering doing just that. I'm hoping I can remove WMP8 completely. I might even try getting rid of IE, too.
  5. It was my understanding that you could activate the same computer any number of times. It is only until you start changing hardware around that you run into a problem. There could be something I'm missing, though.
  6. Uh..no offense, but can you make that a little clearer?
  7. I have the same layout, and here's the log file (it's a bit long, but I figure it all might be important. ) KB826939.log
  8. I believe your problem is that it is booting off the cd each time you reboot. Take the disc out. That or you could replace whichever file it was that people edit to get rid of the "press any key to boot from CD..." message, but that's a bit more complicated for the moment.
  9. Can this work with gosh's "reducing size of source" method of installing XP? I just did a test install on VPC and it didn't work.
  10. Do either program support connecting to an Exchange server?
  11. I've followed your guide gosh and Setup still goes through textmode setup before continuing GUImode setup. Should that be happening? Also, when I tried to run winnt32 with the unattend switch it told me that my winnt.sif was invalid. Any ideas?
  12. How about the .msi file that the Enterprise Deployment Pack generates?
  13. It doesn't make any sound, the screen doesn't turn on at all. How would I go about resetting the cmos on it? We can't just send it back, after all it was from ebay.
  14. Alright, my dad and step mom bought a used laptop from some guy on ebay (a 100MHz Pentium w/ 32mb ram). It was supposed to come pre-loaded with several pieces of software (including Windows) but unfortunately we can't get the thing to boot. When you press the power button the power led and the fan turn on, but after a second it'll go off again. I've tried removing the battery, but that didn't make a difference. Anyone got some ideas on solving this problem?
  15. Wouldn't textmode setup just keep running in and endless loop then?
  16. Same here. That program should take care of the problem (although I haven't tried it myself yet).
  17. See the "command line video settings" thread (it is only a few posts down at the moment)
  18. Method one would be best if we can get at least Windows Update to recognize that the updates are installed.
  19. First of all, how did you go about removing the hotfix setups? Did you just delete them from the svcpack directory and it worked? Would it be possible to extract all of the hotfix info from the registry and then import it through cmdlines.txt?
  20. I haven't a clue. I haven't gotten that far yet.
