Win2k ran perfectly fine with Sp2, then when i upaded it all up, it freaked out and never was the same again... Xp is my chose for most stable.. =Drew

From what you have explained, there should be no software issuses casuing ram to not register. the only thing that i can think of is that while you were installing the new vid card, u bumped, or some how disloged the ram from its banks. Even if they look ok, take them out and reseat them back in the orginal spots u took them from..and restart....see if that helps at all =Drew

WEll heres what you can try...delete the Sp1 you downloaded, and Download Sp1 from one of the links HERE make sure to put it inanother directory then the first. Then try to reinstall.....to me the error you got sounds as if a particular file is corrupt or damaged. Good luck =Drew

I would Slipstream Sp1..worked great for me! If you dont know what slipstraming is, its integrating the SP1 upgrade into Xp, and burning a new copy, wich enables you to start fresh with Sp1. If you would Like instructions on doing this visit the Guide Section here @MSFN! =Drew

i really dont consider myself a newbie....things seemed to cromble once i got all the latest updates which included SP3..after that i was faced with rediculus amounts of errors and strange behavior...thats why i switched back =Drew

I have been running Xp since the 2600 orginal releace and have loved ever since. Recently i decided to try Win2k pro, to see the hype...I was very unhappy with it, sooo many errors..watching movies was a b***h..id get mplayer.exe errors as well as explorer.exe errors. Not to mention, when id remove a piece of software, it would still show up in the add/remove panel...even if i would erace all traces in the reg....the only way i was able to get it out, was with Xsetup maybe i just had a bad install..but everything that could go wrong, did..so im back on Xp with sp1, and enjoying every minite... =Drew

Its gotten worse....now i get explorer.exe errors when i try to open movies while in explorer.....man Win2k is really gitting to me -Drew

After i installed all the updates for Win2k...WMP has started to give me Wmplayer.exe has generated errors and must be restarted.... I then tryed to update to the 7.1 version on the Media player, yet the same thing occurs.... Whats the deal? =Drew

This troubles me.....if WMP 9 and msn messenger are not on the real version of SP1...how the hell were people extracting the beta versions of WMP and Messenger from the leaked Beta version of SP1??? Im confused.... -Drew
