Hi, I have decided to revamp my website and get it all up to speed with what Im doing now. I have been working on it for a couple of weeks now. I was wandering if you could have a look on it, especialy in browsers other than IE and let me know if it displayes properly etc... also what you think of the layout / graphics / information contained in it and do you have any suggestions for it? Addy - http:\\hougtimo.vze.com or hougtimo.white.prohosting.com Thanks HougTimo

ok thanks guys. everything seems to be fine now, and I even overclocked it to 2.2GH (original = 1.6GHz) and it ran fine, in the 30'C-42'C bracket and was stable with no probs. put it under a lot of load like that 2

Hi, I swapped the heatsink and fan on my athlon XP machine for a better one. After installing the new one, i booted up and put it through some CPU intensive tasks. After about 3 minutes it cut out. everything went off,but the power light stayed on. afterwards there was a teeny slight smell of burning. I took of the heatsink, and spread the thermal paste around a bit, to make sure it was touching the CPU and booted back up. so far no problems (been running about 10 mins). Will I have damaged y cpu or anything when that happend? and will i have any future problems? Thanks HougTimo BTW - when it did cut out, the cpu temp was only around 33'C

well A) never had any problems with NF2 and anybuild of vista / longhorn. B)I have good reason for hating dells. I have purchased over 340 of them (some for corporate network, some for home use) about 2 thirds of them have gone bad. I only buy Elonex Machines now.

Windows 2000 Ntdll.dll integration problem
hougtimo replied to Bruniche's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
just take the original ntdll.dll file from the original ISO and place it in your slipstreamed pack. should work ok. -
Contrary to popular belief, AV and Firewall are NOT needed. And before you start flaming and calling me a n00b or whatever, I know what I'm on about. IE - I manage a few networks with 200+ computers on. (However all the machine to do with the corporate networks do have AV and firewalls, because company protocol demands it.) Now, I have 9 machines on my home network, NON OF WHICH HAVE AV OR FIREWALL. In the 7 years I have been managing our home network NON of our computers have ever had a hacker attack, trojans, viruses, malware, adware etc... I do however reccommend that you do a regular scan with Ad-Aware (that is all that is needed) and a hardware firewall. That IS all you need. aslong as you dont download sh*tloads of freeware crap, you'll be fine.

[Question] - Does some Win2k3 files speed XP up?
hougtimo replied to HeadHunter2's topic in Windows XP
the boot files from server 2003, and when patched correctly, can make a difference to the speed of boot up. Numerous people have reported this as working, and from my own experience it does shave a couple of seconds off. -
Q: Why run 98? A: So you can upgrade to Windows 2000 Cheaper! THIS ISNT MEANT TO BE A JOKE
-
Anyone? I really need some help with this
-
yeah...thats not a good reason at all to hate win 2k. its is *the* perfect OS. end of, no discussion, it IS!
-
from his post i think he means hes taken a hard drive out of his machine, and got a external caddy for it, not a flash drive at all. Now I have tried to run xp like this, and while you *can* (its not easy) get it to work it is very slow, especially if your not using USB2. Hope this helps EDIT :: After reading original post again, i think i misunderstood. Oh well...

or do what any sensible person, like me does, and use program Manager as your shell.
