  1. Sorry buddy, but Im not gonna make a step by step guide. In wich part do you have issues? If its Ethernet, just connect a Ethernet Cable from the RJ45 jack to the Internet port of the Router.
  2. OMG! Please do. I dont want to go to jail for 20.
  3. Steps to make a network? Just do it. Is there a step-by-step guide? I would say: ADSL Modem, is it USB or does it uses Ethernet? if it uses USB, start Internet Connection Sharing with a NIC on a computer. Connect the Wireless Router to that same NIC. DONE. Enjoy wired and wireless Internet. As for the printer sharing ... Well, if you want, you can buy a wireless printer server, or, if $ is short (here it is), buy a wired printserver and connect it to the router. Everything that is connected to the Router, wireless or not, will be able to print. P.S: People, feel free to add anything I may forgot.
  4. This maybe a stupid question, but I am totally noob on this. I recently bought a new keychain and I was incredibly suprised by the number of Wireless Cameras I found. What I was wondering was the type of software that can be used to access them. Does the software differ from company to company? Any ideas of how I can watch my neighbors living room? P.S: I know about encrypton, etc, etc. I just want to know if this software exists.
  5. The best Kit for MCSE is this one. Its recommend having a LAB so you can pratice, or, working as a SA. Go for that kit, you wont regret it.
  6. I dont use Firewalls (Software Firewalls), but Ill give that a try just because of the cool graphs!
  7. Are the PCs in workgroup or Domain? If you have them on a Domain, you can cut Internet Access using IPSec. chilifrei64 give us a link yesterday on how to do it. (its the 4th on this forum!). LINK In case they are on a Workgroup, I dont see a solution unless you buy some 3rd party software.
  8. Miranda does that by default. However, you could search on mess.be for a plugin for that.
  9. Yes. Ill problably do that to. But XP will be the 1st one on the Booting list
  10. Ill problably just stay with my good cut to the bone XP. I am very excited to see whats coming out on a Final and Official release of Vista, but it wont be my OS of choise.
  11. As I am typing this, there is no SMod online. A Mod cannot delete Threads outside of the Forum hes responsable for. Edit: Alanoll joined the exact minute!
  12. Not me. I cant do the most simple thing on Flash.
  13. Exactly. And I doubt is does everything over the internet with no app installed.
  14. I just noticied something wrong. The DNS Server IP Address shown on the 1st picture. The modem is pointing at himself for DNS Queries, change it to your ISP DNS IPs. (Or try accessing 64.233.167.99) [google.com]
  15. Ok, I didnt understand it all, but ... Modem: 192.168.1.1 Ok, now give Router the IP - 10.0.0.1 No, go to Router Options, to DHCP Options and disable DHCP. Now, go to TCP/IP Properties of your LAN or WLAN and put these values: IP - 10.0.0.X (X = one mumber for each computer @ your house). Subnet Mask - 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway - 10.0.0.1 DNS Servers: Your ISP DNS Server IPS. If you are using Static IPs, you can Disable the DHCP Client Service. PS: Im sorry of giving the help with static IPs, most of the people dont like it. But I love it, and, since the network is small, there no reason not to use it
  16. I dont know about $1000, but it will definatly be expensive. ($1000 is allot a money for a OS)
  17. Me too! All the stuff the others do, Ultimate will do it and more. Thats more than a reason to me!
  18. Nop. Just Edit it, and write something like DELETE ME! I just did it today
  19. Tiago Faria [aka] Gouki
  20. Exactly. I forget about the DNS part! There ... Now its all said!
  21. Indeed you were!
  22. I did not really understand your point. From what I could understand, you want to setup a FTP Server, and be able to access using the Internet as a middle man, right? For that, you need to install some FTP Server Software (Filezilla for example), and do a port forwarding on your router. Port 21 TCP to the IP address of your FTP Server. Im sorry if this isnt what you want.
  23. What I should stick it, or not, is my bussines. I never said a thing about Browsers, IM or any other applications the Windows brings by default. I agree with the part of running this applications in a "Live" mode can be something good. You are right. Maybe I was a little hard on my first post.
  24. I tottaly understand you. Most of the software today sucks. PERIOD. If we want to install a single drivers for a printer, that piece of **** will download hotfixes, add shortcuts, create registry entries on the run folders, etc, etc. For a couple of months I have been choosing "alternative" software for my task, thats the best way to keep things smooth and running. As for firewall, I DONT CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS, it depends if you need it or not. I dont use Anti-Virus, I dont use Firewall, Intrusion Detection Systems nor all of that stuff that was made to keep our PCs safe. As long as the users knows what he/she is doing, there is no need for that stuff. If you want to go extreme with just Windows default (built-in) stuff, go to TCP/IP Properties and start filtering ports. (I am currently making a list of ports used by the application installed on my computer, so I can then allow only them)
