I would export the reg keys from the registry and use them to setup any other machines. Also note that this works for every user on a single machine.

Spybot can do this by adding in its own records into your hosts file. I wouldn't recommend deleting the file. No ads is good news for me though.

I don't think you can disable the conflicts anyway other than getting an IP address from either your network admin or ISP that isn't actually being used.

Have you installed anything recently?? If so try removing it. Have you tried re-registering the dll?? or even replacing it?

Check your permissions on the local machine. You may find that you are a local administator on all the others but not this one

Write an IT policy that prohibits it. You may want to think about disk quotas and allowing a certain amount of data to be stored by any user. Not sure if you can stop them storing MP3 etc in the space.

It looks like your DNS suffix is being appended to the address. Have a look at the properties of yoru DNS suffix in you Network properties.

I had a problem with a system where it would hang at the Windows Is Starting Setup within a blue screen on the text portion of the setup. I eventually had to change my motherboard, still not too sure that it was at fault as it would only happen when i removed my 1700XP and installed a 2400XP. I have since used the same processor in a different machine and it worked fine and still is working ok.

What are yo using as your DNS server, your router?? an external ISP DNS server?? My own setup is my router as my primary DNS server and my ISP's DNS server as my secondary. Try setting these in your network conections and see if it makes any difference.

They look like ads that are being blocked by some piece of software. Do you have anything installed that may cause this??

depends on what settings you have for Windows Washer. Can you ignore the folders that these programs reside in and see if that makes a difference.

As was said here. For security reasons you should proably disable or rename your Administrator account and use the other one you have setup to do admin tasks. Another tip is to write your password down and store it in a sealed envelope and store it somewhere safe, that way if you ever forget it you can retreive it from the envelope.

Can i just say m8 that you have said to overwrite the i386 folder, should you not put over write the files in the i386 folder with those in the c:\i386 folder. BTW excellent prog and very easy to use.

You are using the chkdsk /f option??

I wouldn't advise using the windows firewall in a corporate enviornment. Use your internet firewall for this and disbaled the firewall service.

Is it not applied through a GPO?? I know it was on SUS.

I had this problem when i had Nero packet writing software installed.

Got to Microsoft and download a tool called Group Policy Management Console and use that for you GPO's It is a more mangeable interface along with testing capabilities.
