u can't add wmp10.reg to hivedef.inf... u have to edit the reg file and add the entries u need to the hivedef file. actually this are few things that i add to hivedef: HKCU,"Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences\VideoSettings","EnableDXVA_WMV",0x00010003,1 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","AcceptedPrivacyStatement",0x00010003,1 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","FirstRun",0x00010003,0 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","FirstMediaGuideRun",0x00010003,0 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","CurrentSettingsPreset",0x00010003,0 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","CurrentDisplayPreset",0x00010003,0 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","DisableMRU",0x00010003,1 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","LastPlaylistIndex",0x00010003,0 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","LibraryLastHScroll",0x00010003,0 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","LibraryHasBeenRun",0x00010003,1 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","LibraryPaneVisible",0x00010003,0 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","LibraryPaneVisibleUserPref",0x00010003,0 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","StartInMediaGuide",0x00010003,0 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","StretchToFit",0x00010003,1 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","ShowAppTitlebarVTen",0x00010003,1 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","UserDisplayPreset",0x00010003,0 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","UserWMPDisplayPreset",0x00010003,0 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","UserWMPMetadataPreset",0x00010003,0 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","UserUserWMPSettingsPreset",0x00010003,0 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","UserWMPShowMetadata",0x00010003,0 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","UserWMPShowSettings",0x00010003,0 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Setup","CurrentItemProgressCount",0x00010003,0 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Setup","CurrentItemTotalProgressCount",0x00010003,0

there should be no problem. i still test ryan's addon modified with my pack. till now i did not have problems.
-
wmp slipstreamer 3 will ask u where is your mp10setup.exe and your xpcd\i386 folder.and u can browse to them. so mp10setup.exe can be anywhere on your hard drive.
-
no. i think he meant ryan's update pack. also ryan has a wmp10 addon now so check his page and do this:
-
cause this is the format that supports integrating.... i guess so. if not ask ryan.

CatalogFile=filename.cat Specifies a catalog (.cat) file to be included on the distribution media of a device/driver. Catalog files are supplied by the Microsoft Windows Hardware Quality Lab (WHQL), after WHQL has tested and assigned digital signatures to driver files. (Contact WHQL for more information about the testing and signing of IHV and/or OEM driver packages.) Catalog files are not listed in the SourceDisksFiles or CopyFiles sections of the INF. Setup assumes that the catalog file is in the same location as the INF file. System-supplied INF files never have CatalogFile= entries because the operating system validates the signature for such an INF against all system-supplied xxx.cat files.

here they are in 2 packs one uncompressed and one compressed. you have to add entries to svcpack.inf and the compressed files to svcpack folder. cat.rar compressed.rar

i saw a post on ryan's forum about version given by his wmp10 addon. version of wmp after integrating his pack without any modification is 3923. this version is because of this file: wmp.dll which is already in his pack. i made some little changes adding few files that weren't updated. but even after this change the version is still 3923. so please read this carefully: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=45917&st=460 @fluid no, is not. u can use other archive maker which can compress .cab
-
no.
-
mine has 13.332.060. so i think is ok.
-
yes u can add the wmplayer.ex_ to ryan's wmp pack... actually u can add the whole newWMP pack except audiodev.dl_ and wpdsp.dl_ cause this 2 files are already in wmp.cab from ryan's wmp pack.
-
got that right...
-
hi there guys, ryan released his wmp10 addon. it has some files updated but i still modified it using my pack. it's easy....unpack it using winrar, overwrite new files and then compress back (i use picozip). the files who need update are: msscp.dl_, wmasf.dl_, drmv2clt.dl_ and qasf.dl_.
-
half true... cause i launched my pack here..... so he used it....and deserve an answer...

-
try redownloading the slipstreamer and redo the process.
-
no they are compressed with makecab. the problem u have is because in your case u have to add also the .cat files from the hotfixes which contains the files....
-
i didn't install it. cause after i saw what it is meaning just a colection of hotfixes, there is no need for me to install it.... so ............... and i was reading about this project from when it started. i belived it will be like a service pack from m$. or kinda ryan's pack but with m$ installer... well it is not.
-
only service pack. what do u mean by feature pack?
-
i downloaded and unpack it.....very wired build... it has the hotfixes the way they were downloaded from M$... so is not built like an original pack form M$....therefore i think it can not be integrated....
-
Can nLite intergrate these hotfixes?
boooggy replied to zoobooboozoo's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
no, nlite can't integrate them cause they are not hotfixes. they are tools..... look here: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewforum.php?...0399030635d6791 -
