  1. Glad it is working. It doesn't depend on the language of the XP installation. I updated the patcher to work with the other browsers I modified. If someone encounter errors with it please let me know. Link on the first post. Cheers.
  2. What are your computer specs? Maybe the delay is related to the low resources your computer has (if it is an old computer). I have a DELL Inspiron 600m with 360EE v9 and I experienced something similar to what you are saying with some websites. It gets worse when I try to use newer versions of the browser.
  3. I managed to get the program to restore the function to work on XP (only for CN version) --> https://www.mediafire.com/file/qs3pbgss43yszd4/trans_patch.7z/file Use it like this: - Inside the "trans_patch.7z" there is a "trans_patch" folder. Extract it. - Copy and paste the folder in the same place the "360chrome.exe" file is. - After that, enter the folder and execute "trans-patch.bat". - A command-line interface will show up. If everything goes correctly the program will show you at the end "Press any key to continue". Press any key and check if the translation function was restored. After all that you can delete the "trans_patch" folder. It should work without errors. If anything else happens tell me. Cheers.
  4. It is possible to restore. I tried making a patcher for you to be able to use (I don't want to reupload all files for that specific function) but failed because the patcher only works on Win7+. Are you familiar with HxD Hex Editor? I can tell you how to do the changes (it is a very simple change). If not I will see what else I can do. As for the "English" string on the right-click menu, I don't have it (I checked from v9 to v13). Are you using the CN version from Internet Archive? It is all in Chinese characters to me. Cheers.
  5. Your welcome. Hope it is working properly. I will take a look into that. Which version are you using? Cheers.
  6. Sorry for the late answer. I think it is safe to replace the files. If you are asking because of your user data, as the folder containing your stuff is in other location I don't see a way something could happen to those files. Cheers.
  7. That is quite unfortunate, but at least I could confirm that the browser downloads stuff after installation so maybe some patches and fixes can be retreived that actually work on XP (hopefuly). I didn't knew widevine is also compiled targeting specific architectures and knowing it is from google, universal support is expected to not be there. Also, maybe for older browser versions widevine could be actualy patched for XP but someone would have to test that out. Thanks for the feedback. Cheers.
  8. If those deaths were consistently differentiated by cause. In my country, I know that if you call a doctor and tell you have a simple cold or something pretty soft, it will tell you that you have Covid without proof. Also traffic deaths and other type of deaths are included as Covid deaths. Try some Ivermectine it should help. If not it is an anti-parasite as well so it will do good for you. Cheers.
  9. - Added Minibrowser 1.0.0.127 Regarding Widevine I've seen in the 360 forums that from a version of the browser (11.0.1331.0 I think) Netflix problems are "fixed". So I guess from that version Widevine is included, but as far as I know it isn't among the files of the browser. Some "solutions" purposed to problems with certificates and this netflix problem are to run the 360 Security software and "that's it". Because of that I have a suspicion that you dont get all the files that come with the browser when you use it in the way we are using it (by decompressing the installer to avoid any kind of unwanted stuff to be injected on the computer). I think that by installing the browser in the normal way (running the original installer and let it use as many internet as possible) and installing also 360 Security you can get some patches or fixes that are downloaded from somewhere I don't know. This is a theory and I have no way to prove it but I've had this feeling since some months ago. If someone is willing to test this I would say that the appropiate person is one that speaks chinese and/or lives in China and to do this test on a spare computer or in a virtual machine. Cheers.
  10. I didn't notice the developers updated their version, when I have time I will add that update to the list. This browser wasn't that difficult to modify as 360EE. I don't know about Primetime Decryption, but as for widevine, it is added to the browser in the build process, so if you don't see it or it doesn't work, it may be because it wasn't included in the build process or because support to XP for widevine was not included. There was a project that aimed to bypass Widevine support via an extension, but Google removed it. Cheers.
  11. I saw that page after and didn't read it to much because I don't trust the author. I can relate to that, but in my case (country) they aren't even educated. I guess this is a simple way of describing how the bill will manage JS. According to the Libreboot page mentioned in the article it actually says that it is the "non-free" part of JS that will be banned so it is a bad redaction point on the article. Cheers.
  12. What this program does exactly? I've seen some people that uses it for security reasons or for XP due to certificate errors. Cheers.
  13. Yesterday I was reading this article and this statement appeared: I really don't understand why this page says that and wanted to see if someone knows why JavaScript is pointed as a "non-free" element. Cheers.
  14. It can be seen like that. But one can see it in another way: it shows how a product can be made by people (not by a big company) to offer something instead of seeking the dominance of a market. It is a free road to choose where to go (system requirements might be the only thing to consider but there are a lot of Linux distros for older hardware). You may find very difficult tracks (many) when starting with Linux but it isn't like there is not help around. It will be hard, but at the end, if you decide to use it in some way, you will end up gaining a way of thinking that Microsoft axed with their ideal OS from the start. The influence of MS includes the generation of closed-source programs, the philosophy that the newer the stuff the better, and an induction in people's mind of a wrong and superficial way of what a computer is for. People who don't care about what a computer is and only need to use it because they are in the need of it (almost everybody), are people that I can't speak for. I only speak for those who want to actually know/see something else. I like Windows XP and 7 but it is sad that Microsoft was the one that brought it to the world. There is an analogy with electric cars: if something happens to them, I can't just open the car hood and mess around a little with the mechanic parts to see if that fixes the issue. I don't feel in control of the car and I don't like it. In my opinion, the same happens with OSes. I am not a Linux expert but I kind of understand better the logic of how programs work thanks to it. People who use Windows and are in these kind of forums have in some way avoided the MS axe I mentioned previously, so that they are "saved". I am sure the futures (being good or bad ones) of many people were determined by their use of Windows. I discovered Ubuntu from a guy at my University that casually downloaded a new version to install it in his PC (18.04). When I saw how this OS was, I was shocked because I though Linux was like only command lines and nothing else (not even a graphical environment ) and I immediately downloaded to test it. That changed my mind in a way I appreciate very much now. Maybe I like too much Linux because it freed me from having to worry about so many things or, because I feel like a programmer when I use it, but aside from that, it feels like home. Cheers.
  15. Quite large right? The "Cinnamon" is a referrer to the desktop interface used. You can use several interfaces with Linux Mint, like MATE or XFce (others can be installed as well). I didn't know what a Commodore 64 was so I had to search, and when that computer was released I was -20 years old. An article says that Commodore OS was designed to look like an old Commodore system. Here is an OS that can be installed on a Commodore 64 --> http://c64os.com/ Cheers.
  16. A while ago when I started using Ubuntu and wanted to see other Linux OS alternatives I found this massive and very well organized timeline of multiple Linux OSes. (Version 21.10) When I found it I stared at it for a long time trying to read all the names to see how much of them I knew about. It is impressive how much bifurcations there are and it is very exiting to see that the list continues to grow with discontinued or newer OSes. You can click on the name of the OS and it will send you to a page containing information about it (it doesn't seems to work right now, at least for me). It is a very good image. The authors of the image are here --> https://github.com/FabioLolix/LinuxTimeline Cheers and enjoy the image.
  17. Do you have a spare monitor to connect to the laptop through a VGA cable? In the best case it is only a screen issue. Cheers.
  18. Your welcome. I also like to keep my old stuff (even if it is not functional anymore), it is kind of sad to me that some people just trash away stuff because it is old. A while ago, a friend I have, threw away a PC just because it had XP on it (a black hole just grew in my stomach when I received the message ). Also, I sent you a PM regarding your printer with a possible solution.
  19. For now I am finished with the browser, if I have to add something else I will post it here but in reality I think it will be simple stuff, nothing to worry about (calling it development sounds a little to complex, everyone could make what I did, I just happened to publish it for the people that would like to use it). Yes. I've seen some of your posts in the other thread concerning telemetry registry keys being created by 360EE and I wanted to say that the URL breaks that affected the unwanted connections also modified some of the registry values the browser makes. They are inoffensive. They just write up to the registry because the browser has functions to do so but nothing else is done with them (aside from those that store some of your settings to use on every launch of the browser). You can run every of the browsers I posted with or without a launcher, what the launcher does is to remove files, write some registry entries to external ".reg" files to not write directly to the registry and facilitates the addition of custom flags to run the browser. I use all of the browsers I posted without a launcher because I know that it is save to use them. I know that in some cases a Linux installation can affect the Windows installation but in general I think it is possible to use a "Install alongside Windows" option that can be set up through the same Windows installation or at the installation of the Linux OS. I've been using some Linux OS but haven't tried Debian directly only Debian-based ones and also other ones pretty interesting and weird. I would recommend you trying out these 2 Linux distros (I haven't tested them but I think I will leave Lubuntu over one of these) Q4OS and Raspberry Pi, both are focused on older hardware. As for the printer issue, that is quite weird because with a Linux OS you literally don't have to deal with drivers as with Windows, it recognizes everything at installation, maybe your printer has private drivers or something like that? This thread might be useful --> https://msfn.org/board/topic/102383-how-to-lock-a-registry-entry/ I don't think that will make a difference because the problem is not with certificates, is with how XP handle those certificates. Cheers.
  20. It is the same for me. I think that issue is because the update files are for an English XP installation. I know some of those updates can be found in other languages but I know that at least one of them is only available on English. If you want/can, you can install this XP (that supposedly has all updates except for quite a few that were known to cause issues with the OS), update the certificates with the tool mentioned before and test the browser there to see what happens. If nothing changes the only hope available will be someone making a patch to add newer certificate compatibility to XP. Or to use a Linux OS to avoid all problems. Cheers.
  21. Thanks. Yes, many websites will complain because of the certificates not being valid (XP can't handle some new certificates). Updating the certificates with this tool or maybe starting the browser with a clean profile might do the trick, but in most cases that problem will persist. If none of those options work and you want to see that website correctly you will need to use a Firefox-based browser for XP. Roytam and Feodor browsers have no issues with certificates, at least the ones I use. If you want to read more here is this link --> https://stackoverflow.com/questions/33922231/why-cant-windows-xp-handle-newer-ssl-certificate-versions And, I found this on GitHub, the files present in there are supposed to update XP to support "TLS 128-bit & 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) cipher suites" (certificate related I suppose). From what I read, that update requires "Windows Embedded POSReady 2009" so I don't know if it will work on normal XP-SP3 installations. If you don't have it you can try installing it to see what happens. Cheers.
  22. Nice. I wasn't aware of the "--user-data-dir" option. Where do you put the "master_preferences" file by the way? Cheers.
  23. From what is written here, the "initial_preferences" file is used on Chromium 91 and up, use the "master_preferences" name instead to see if it works. The Chinese may have removed the portion of the code that was in charge of that, so if it doesn't work you can create a preferences file by launching the browser and looking into the "User Data > Default" directory, modify and copy that file for other users of the browser (use it as the "initial_preferences" file). The normal Google Chrome has an installer that can install the browser for every Windows account (I assume that also means a Chrome profile per account as well), in the case of this browser you can try this suggestion: 1) Create a folder in the "C:\" path and name it with whatever name you want (the browser files will be in there so name it "Browser", "360EE", etc). The folder will be accessible through all accounts in your Windows installation (at least for my XP installation it works like that). 2) Extract the contents of the browser compressed file inside that specific folder. 3) Create a shortcut of the "360chrome.exe" in your desktop (or any other location). 4) Right-click the shortcut, go to "Properties" and at the final of the "Target" option place something like this (with a space at the beginning) --> " --profile-directory="<something>"" Replace the <something> tag by a specific name you want to differentiate from each user. 5) Run the browser through the modified shortcut. 6) Repeat 3), 4) and 5) for all the users you want to add the browser. If everything goes well (and if you are using 360EE) you can go to the "User Data" folder of the browser (located at the folder you created on "C:\"), and check if the names you wrote on every shortcut are present as the names of folders. The result will be that every shortcut on every Windows account will tell the browser to load a different user data folder, being the same as a Chrome user profile per Windows account. Tell me if it works. Cheers.
  24. I tested it and it loads more posts. No clue what could cause that. Try allowing all domains in uBlock to see if something changes. What search engine are you using? I do not get that behavior with Google, Yahoo, Bing or DuckDuckGo for example. Cheers.
  25. From what I see that isn't the latest version of the browser. Download the latest from here --> https://archive.org/details/360EE_Modified_Version I think pressing the Escape key was the solution to that problem (only at the very first run of the browser). Cheers.
