  1. Thanks for the review. Did your tests were with v13?. If so I hope that the issues with 360EE can be fixed when the lastest release of the browser is out. I really don't know how to make an installer for something like this, but if someone knows how to do that I can give it a try. You can use this extension, might work --> https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/change-webpage-fonts/afelmehoohjbjfpjbadonkcondbilglp Cheers.
  2. The previous version of that font implemented some code to make it thicker but the build process took so long the author left the thicker-fallback variant out of the newer release. I decided to build the font and it took 2 days (with huge breaks because electricity problems lately). Here there are --> https://www.mediafire.com/folder/1hf8d38zg8seq/Fonts There is one that is original and one that has the fake Segoe UI Emoji ID. If you want to use the original instead the CSS name is "Twitter Color Emoji Thick" Regarding Unicode compatibility with XP I also found some fonts that may be useful to some. - Code2000 --> http://www.code2000.net/ (Huge Unicode compatibility for Plane 0) The other downloads are for Plane 1 and Plane 2. Unicode Planes --> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plane_(Unicode) And, - Arial Unicode MS --> https://www.download-free-fonts.com/details/88978/arial-unicode-ms --> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arial_Unicode_MS They are very good fonts for wide unicode coverage.
  3. I believe the browser will read the one on the "Fonts" folder. The second one might be as a system backup or something like it. Does changing the "Palette Title" (from @NotHereToPlayGames's comment) to another font changes that Registry value? --- Also I want to test something, I edited a Twitter emoji font to fake the ID of the Segoe UI Emoji font. Can you install it to see what it is the result on the https://getemoji.com/ page? Font (it is quite large in size) --> https://www.mediafire.com/file/69ra89kl1okle1p/TwitterColorEmoji_FakedSegoeUIEmoji.ttf/file It is a color font but has black/white fallbacks so it should work for displaying all emojis on that page. Cheers.
  4. Maybe it depends on which fonts are already installed on the system. In my case the registry values are: v9 - "Microsoft Sans Serif" v11 - "Microsoft Sans Serif" v12 - "宋体" v13 - "宋体" Or it depends on the version of the browser used. Maybe if others share their registry values for different versions of the browser a pattern can be found.
  5. I did it a little fast but it should work. Installing this font will replace the default "MS Sans Serif" font so backup the original first in case something happens. EDIT: I mixed the fonts, this is the correct one --> https://www.mediafire.com/file/dll3ypaduofmitv/seguiemj%232.ttf/file
  6. I think that is the issue. Let me try to add the Segoe UI Emoji font that value to see what happens. You are using v13.5 right?
  7. There is a font the browser uses for its interface, you can see its name by going in the Windows Registry to this path "HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > 360Chrome > ui_persist_value > FontFamily". I think the font is different among versions but on v12 and v13 should be the same one (SimSun). If you want to change the font the browser uses you have to edit the name of the font (not the name of the file) you want to add and then install it on your system. You can do this with any font if you know how to do it. I have done this with the Impact font a while ago using FontTools --> https://github.com/fonttools/fonttools https://msfn.org/board/topic/182876-360-extreme-explorer-modified-version/?do=findComment&comment=1208551 But as @v3cv pointed out it can be done also through FontForge. --- @v3cv Can you show which value you edited? With FontTools I just replace all identifiers of a font with the ones of another font but I don't know the specific value that has to be edited. Cheers.
  8. Try installing the following font on your XP system --> https://www.mediafire.com/file/tfr8gg5nr2b6qxx/seguiemj%231.ttf/file It is a modded Segoe UI Emoji font with the ID of the chinese font the browser resquests for its interface. I tested it on v13 on XP and works well. I don't know about v12 and below. The Segoe UI Emoji font I modded was taken from here (Version 1.35) --> https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B7CtT8qOyxTzVlRzb1lONmFSaVk?resourcekey=0-zoraVjFWzutxQICXzVmYJw
  9. Did you copy the contents of the "skin" folder of the older browser to this one? because the "About" menu showed: is different from mine. My suggestion, please use the browser with a clean profile (no "User Data" folder), without porting any files and then tell me if you encounter any errors with that. If you keep porting files between versions I can't tell what is going to happen. The developers of this browser intentionally hardcoded the default font to be a chinese one (among the list of default fonts). The only way I think a font can be added it is by adding the glyphs of other fonts into the chinese font so that they load when the browser loads. Maybe it would be worth reporting this bug to the mantainers of the elektroda.pl page. Because the browser can handle the font on other sites. Cheers.
  10. Can you send some screenshots of the chinese text you are seeing? and also the font problems. Preferences should not be locked. Maybe is the change between versions that let to the lock of some options. Try erasing all "360" registry entries in the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software" path. Cheers.
  11. I was trying to see if something could fix this and sadly I don't know what is causing the problem. In 360EE those fonts are displayed properly and are lower Chromium versions than MiniBrowser (v9, v11, v12 and v13 all tested on Win7). So, or the MiniBrowser developers added something that messed up how to load the "FontAwesome" font or Chromium 87 introduced a bug that affects the load of those type of fonts (Chromium 87 on Linux does load the fonts). What happens if you open this URL and search for some icons? --> https://fontawesome.com/icons
  12. The only thing I can recommend it would be not turnning on anything related to hardware acceleration. It is unstable in XP due to incompatibilities. Forcing the browser to use such options might be the issue. Apart from that you can try to use version 13.5 from the russian repack to see if those problems persist (I believe they share that version). There is some information about some issues on their forum page, try them out to see if they can help --> https://forum-ru--board-com.translate.goog/topic.cgi?forum=5&topic=50830&start=2240&_x_tr_sch=http&_x_tr_sl=ru&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=es&_x_tr_pto=wapp Edit: Try testing the version you are using under a Win7 machine (if possible) to see if the same problems occur. Cheers.
  13. I had been working on Sogou Browser Version 10.0.2.33514 (Chromium 72 based) and so far things look like this: And the legend go as this: + Gen > Settings - Tab (se://settings/?category=general) | + Tab > Settings - Tab (se://settings/?category=tab) | |---+ TA > New Tab | | | |---+ T1 > Open when creating a new tab: | | |---- 1 > Homepage | | |---- 2 > "My favourite" | | |---- 3 > Blank page | | |---- 4 > A custom URL (input) | | | |---+ T2 > When clicking a link: | | |---- 1 > Open in a tab and go to that tab | | |---- 2 > Open in a tab in the background | | | |---+ T3 > When opening external links: | | |---- 1 > Open in a tab and go to that tab | | |---- 2 > Open in a tab in the background | | |---- 3 > Open in a new window | | | |---- T4 > Open bookmark bar URL on a newtab | |---- T5 > Open URL typed on the URL bar on a newtab | |---+ T6 > Drag selected text to search on: | | |---- 1 > Background newtab | | |---- 2 > Active newtab | | | |---+ T7 > Open location: (?) | |---- 1 > To the right of the current tab | |---- 2 > To the right of all tabs | |---+ TB > Close Tab | | | |---+ T8 > After closing the active tab, switch to: | | |---- 1 > Left tab | | |---- 2 > Right tab | | | |---- T9 > Use right-click to close tab (use Shift+Right-click to open contextual menu) | |---- T10 > Close tab by double left clicking on it | |---+ TC > Tab preview | | | |---- T11 > Show a tab preview when pressing Ctrl+Tab or Ctrl+ Shift+Tab | |---+ TD > Tab appearance | | | |--- T12 > Show close button on inactive tabs | |--- T13 > Show favicon on the tab | |---+ TE > Other | | | |--- T14 > Wait a certain amouth of milliseconds (input) to switch to a tab when the mouse is over the hover area of that tab. | + Sec > Settings - Security (se://settings/?category=security) | + Key > Settings - Shortcuts (se://settings/?category=shortcut) It is a very slow process.
  14. No. If I update it, it would be something minimal (polishing). Try adding "--enable-logging --v=1" at the end of the "Target" line as this guide --> https://support.google.com/chrome/a/answer/6271282#zippy=%2Cwindows That will enable a "chrome_debug.log" file inside the "User Data" folder. You can then post it here when you experience any of the crashes you mention. I don't know how to read those but it should be a good starting point to see if those issues can be fixed or not. Which version are you using? Hardware acceleration might be responsible of some issues as well. Try using these flags to see if they do something: --disable-webgl (erasing or renaming the “swiftshader” folder and the “libglesv2.dll” file will have the same effect as this flag) --no-default-browser-check --disable-component-update --disable-background-networking Cheers.
  15. Updated v9, v11, v12 and v13, English version: - It is a very minor translation update (I finally translated the last piece of Chinese I experienced). No need to update if you have the 24-10-21 version. ... Regarding the "debug.log" file, it also creates on Win7. I think it is related to the edits to the DLL files. I don't remember seeing that file when I was testing the vanilla version of the browser. @dextyckroms if you get a positive response from the author of Catsxp browser also ask him if he is willing to share the source code of those older versions of the browser compatible with XP. It would be pretty nice to see if that could happen. There hasn't been any source code of a newer version of a complete browser for XP for many time and after what @feodor2 was capable of I am pretty excited to see what is comming. Cheers.
  16. Added both versions with the modifications you suggested. Can you test them to see if they work? Thanks. Yes, that browser has versions that were compatible with XP, unfortunately I don't know where to download older releases. But now that I think of, @hidao, can you write an email to the author of that browser asking for a way to download older releases of the browser? I didn't want to do it myself because it would look kind of bad but another person can, and of course, only if you want. Thanks. Cheers.
  17. Nice! Does it work with both versions? (1.0.0.121 and 1.0.0.127) if so I will add a package for XP x64 users in Mediafire. Cheers.
  18. Oh, ok. I thanks for the info. Either way, messing around a little I found a way to translate some parts of the browser (I hope it can be used for all the chinese), but it will take many time. The chinese is hardcoded into the "Dialog.dll" file. I have to do a conversion to get the actual chinese characters but it is doable. However, since the space to write the translation is very limited, I might need to insert like a legend so people can actually know what a button or a dialog says. Is it possible to insert new sections to a DLL file without breaking it? I am asking because it would be way cleaner that way. I am open to any suggestions and I know that maybe it can be impossible given my experience with that. Cheers.
  19. I did tried to mod this one after finishing with DC Browser and it seemed like another good alternative, I tested first with an older version (based on Chromium 72). I then saw 2 big problems, the first one being that the language could not be changed (removing the "locales" folder didn't had any effect over the interface, so I guess it was hardcoded into the DLLs - only guessing) and, some files that I think are compressed cannot be openened with any decompressor I know about (7-zip asks me for a password, so the company may have a custom compressor or a security password). Aside from that, it ran very well on my old laptop. If someone know a way to open those type of compressed files and know how to change the language of this browser then I can try to mod it. I've seen that there was a chinese page in which most of these browsers were modded, maybe one of those developers could have the answer, but I don't know how to comunicate with them. I think this was the page --> http://www.qiuquan.cc/browser/360chrome.html Cheers
  20. Nice theme! Can you share it out? I know it is from version 13.5 but it might work for v13. Unfortunately you can't have a HTTPS connection with every website. And yes, it is because of the XP outdated certificate manager. Mozilla integrated a certificate manager inside their browser so it doesn't depend on the one of the OS. Take a look at this link --> https://stackoverflow.com/questions/33922231/why-cant-windows-xp-handle-newer-ssl-certificate-versions Cheers.
  21. Does disabling the "Hide extensions for known file types" option helps? --> https://sawtoothsoftware.com/resources/knowledge-base/general-issues/how-to-show-file-name-extensions-in-windows-explorer Try using "Ctrl+R" instead to reload pages. In normal Chromium when you hit "Alt+Enter" on the URL bar, it opens a new tab with the search term you typed, in this browser happens with both "Enter" and "Alt-Enter" so I guess the developers hardcoded that intentionally. Cheers.
  22. I didn't knew this was a thing until you mentioned it, that is the "mouse gesture" feature all these chinese browsers have integrated. Unfortunately I haven't found a way to disable it. In the kafan forums someone asked for a way to modify these gestures in a future version of the browser, so I hope they can be disabled by then. If you want to know what those shortcuts are, the extension integrated in the browser responsible of this function is this, I believe both have the same shortcuts. Replace the "iframe.srx" file depending on the version you are running with the one located in "<browser-version>\skin" folder --> https://www.mediafire.com/folder/da25kcrk6nmjd/Mute_360EE_CN_prob Cheers.
  23. So, at the end, which Cygwin version was the lastest to support NT 4.0? I've found an NT 4.0 original disk and want to try it out. Also, is there documentation regarding which was the lastest version for each Windows OS? Cheers.
  24. Happens between all browser versions (v9, v11, v12 ,v13)? Have you used before another 360EE build from another place? Try erasing all registry entries related to 360EE in "HKEY_CURRENT_USER - Software". The "360", "360Chrome" and "360SoftMgr" folders for example. I really don't know what could be causing that issue. Cheers.
